Rose and Miriam are the caregivers for our parents and I don't know what we would do without them. They are proactive, kind, and patient!

You will see my first review as Beverly H., and hopefully you would read my first report. That…read moreexperience was rated as five star . In fact my second stay in 2024 was just as great as the 2023! In late April of 2024 I stood up from my bed and I literally felt a huge POP in my lower spine, and the pain was horrible! I knew that I had at least one , but it turned out to be TWO! I could barely stand up, walk, and generally just painful to the max!! I finally got an appointment with my Neurologist and while he knew what had happened, and my report to him was correct! So back to the the 2024 the surgeon to schedule the reason to go to Lynnwood Post Acute Rehab Center after the surgery! After several days in the hospital the Social Worker came In to my room to give me three choices as to where I should go. I interrupted her and told her that I knew exactly where I wanted to go and that was Lynnwood Post Acute Rehab Center! Thankfully there was only one room available but they held it knowing that I was getting there in the next couple of days! If you read my glowing report from my 2023 stay would be exactly the same in 2024!

My mother was diagnosed with a very rare bacterial infection. She had surgery that removed most of…read moreher heel bone to eradicate the infection. Her post op care required a wound vac and a facility that was equipped to change it out every 3 days. This facility came up as qualified for this specific care. They approved the care order. After being there for a week, my mother's wound vac hadn't been changed and when I called to find out what was going on , I was told Benito was the only one trained to switch it out and he didn't work weekends. Left early for an "emergency" This was a Friday night. It should have already been switched out by this point I called and made a fuss. This care is the difference between keeping or losing her leg. Benito came back in on his day off to do the required care we paid for. When he went to change the vac out he ripped the bandage off my mother's open wound and caused tremendous pain. So much so my mom too afraid to let the staff know when she was having any discomfort. After that incident they were cold and distant with her and rude with me when I visited. She came home before she was ready because we were both concerned about elderly abuse. I would like to think anyone in this profession would treat people the way they would want their parents to be treated. Amazingly after this incident , they had another nurse do wound vac changes. Today we received a $3000 bill after being told her stay was covered by insurance. No itemized charges. Just 3/1 and cost of service. From the facility.

We selected Better Days AFH for my husband believing that here he would have the best chance of…read morereaching an improved quality of life. We have experienced the quality of services explained to us prior to our decision. Our reasoning has been validated! My husband has improved more than we hoped for. We thank the owners and well managed staff and highly recommend Better Days as an excellent Adult Family Home. To support this recommendation I've provided below some examples of where we started and how Better Days has supported and improved his health journey. When transferred from the hospital my husband was bed bound. to the point of needing a Hoyer Lift to move him from the bed to a wheelchair. He also needed assistance with almost every aspect of living. Any type of therapy seemed out of reach. Since moving into Better Days His multiple conditions have stabilized better than in the hospital and better than in the skilled nursing facility. We've said good bye to the Hoyer Lift. He is spending hours out of bed in the living room and is less dependent on others for self care. A big part of this has been stabilizing his medication; a process of making many minor adjustments to several meds with the help of his PCP. With input from the caregivers, Eme (the owner) communicated frequently with the PCP and "doggedly" yet professionally followed up to make sure the patient received what was needed from change orders or orders for new meds, plus orders for equipment, and other services. The owner, an experienced RN, is either on site or in phone contact with staff daily. When on site she spends time with each resident to understand and support their goals, including helping with therapy exercises and ensures caregivers do the same. Caregivers proactively reach out to her for clarification and direction, knowing she is available and quick to follow through if needed. The caregivers have adopted the collaborative methods when helping the residents. This creates a very positive living environment for the residents. Especially with complicated medical situations it "takes a village" to sustain the appropriate level of care.. EmeDemmusse provides a clean and welcoming space, qualified staff, positive environment, direction, management and encouragement for my husband to improve in ways he did not believe possible!
