Update from my previous review: I took my Covid test 8 days ago but still have not received any results. I called the clinic again to ask and a front office person named bailey and she advised that it still isn't in and it takes up to a week. I told her it was already 8 days. She said "yeah I know I'm sorry". I asked where I could get the results myself and she said she didn't know. I then called again to speak with a nurse (I didn't get her name), I told her the same issue and asked which quest facility picks up the tests and she said she didn't know. "They pick up and l don't know where it goes". This is such a frustrating experience not only because I can't go to work until I have my results, but also because I paid $64 for this test and I still haven't gotten my results when there are people I know who did the drive up tests elsewhere and have already gotten them. OMGoodness. I was blown away by the professionalism of the staff I interacted with (Melissa, Jameka, Dr. Mira Patel) My initial request for an appt. began kind of rocky, but was handled with such care & concern by Melissa. They have definitely earned my loyalty. I visited the Wheatland location in 2017 and based on the level of service, I vowed never to visit a Urgent Care again. However, due to a bad sinus infection, I found myself in need of immediate care on 2/15/18. With a little apprehension I decided to go to the Cedar Hill location & I'm so glad I did. The office was clean, the staff was friendly & respectful and the wait time was acceptable. To the staff of the Cedar Hill Care Now: "Thank you for the service you provide! Over Five-hour Wait from Office Error, Dangerous Combination of Meds Prescribed After becoming quite ill with asthmatic bronchitis while visiting Cedar Hill, TX, for the arrival of my first granddaughter, I checked for the best online reviews, then chose CareNow at 345 N. Hwy 67. Unfortunately, my experience was vastly different from the glowing reviews I'd read. It was crowded, so I was told I could go home and someone would call me when it was close to appointment time. So far, so good. I didn't want to sit in a room full of flu-stricken people with a Disney movie blasting at theatre-decibel levels, anyway. I returned a couple of hours later when called and checked back in with the front desk. After over an hour of waiting in the loud, crowded waiting room, I received a rather brusque call from CareNow asking if I were still planning to come back in for my appointment. When I told her I'd been back over an hour and was sitting in their lobby, the lady apologized and said they'd get me right in. I waited another hour. Desperate, I asked the front desk person how much longer it would be. She sheepishly realized she'd forgotten to put my chart in the box for waiting patients, but did not apologize. The appointment itself went fine with an attentive nurse and D.O. - or so I thought. Afterwards, I filled my scripts and started the prednisone and antibiotics they'd prescribed. The next day, I got a call from CareNow telling me the doctor realized I should NOT take the prednisone with the antibiotic they'd prescribed. Too late. The caller told me to stop taking the prednisone immediately. Knowing the side effects of prednisone, I asked what it would do to my endocrine system to do that, but she had no idea what the word "endocrine" meant, even after I spelled it for her, much less the effects of sudden prednisone withdrawal. I asked for a nurse and was told to continue taking the prednisone and she would call in another antibiotic that would not conflict with it, and to throw away the original antibiotic. By this time, my daughter-in-law was in active labor, so I picked up the new antibiotic on the way to the hospital. When we got settled, I realized the new antibiotic was one to which I am severely allergic, which the nurse had noted in my chart when I told her and I had reiterated to the doctor verbally. I called back and the nurse said she'd call in the original antibiotic to a pharmacy near the hospital, since they'd told me to destroy the original, and to hold off on the prednisone until I'd finished the antibiotic. When I picked up the third antibiotic, I realized it wasn't the original I'd started and stopped, but a third tier, less powerful antibiotic. I ended up calling my pulmonologist at home to get accurate prescriptions. I wasted an entire day waiting to get in, plus time in my role as labor coach, and money on both the visit and four wrong prescriptions, one of which could have killed me if I had taken. read more

A year ago I wrote a positive review for the Cedar Hill CareNow. I seldom write reviews, (in fact I haven't written a review on anything since last year) but this year is an entirely different story. I used the web check in. They called me and told me they were ready for me. While standing at the front desk giving them my filled out paperwork, I overhead a pharmaceutical rep telling the doctor he had brought them rotisserie chicken from Boston Market for lunch. They put me in a room immediately (telling me there was one person ahead of me) and I then sat there for an hour and 15 minutes while I am assuming the staff ate their rotisserie chicken. I finally opened the door to my exam room and even wandered out - no one to be seen. When an hour into my wait I went to the front desk to find out if I had been forgotten, they said there was one person in front of me. There had been one person in front of me an hour a go. They seemed surprised that I was back there - my guess - I was forgotten; however, there were still no doctors or nurses to be seen anywhere and the front desk folks had plates of food on their desks. I have no problem with people eating lunch. They can be closed for two hours at lunch if they so choose, but do not offer the convenience of web checkin - tell people you are ready for them -- and then make them wait for over an hour. Are you kidding me? When the doctor finally showed up another fifteen minutes later, she didn't apologize. When I finally went to checkout, in the hour and a half I had been there they hadn't processed my insurance papers so I had to wait another 15 - 20 minutes. One family sitting in the waiting room waiting to pay had gone in after me and yet they were finished first. So, over 2 hours later (utilizing the convenience of their web checkin) and $165 poorer, I left with my diagnosis of pink eye which I knew I had when I went in. (I just needed the antibiotics to take care of it.) If there were extenuating circumstances (an emergency, etc.) all they had to do was explain. But there was nothing to explain. My time is as valuable as yours. You will never get any of mine again. Stay away from this unprofessional business. read more

I went to care now on Saturday, Dec 3. I usually say great things about the front desk staff at care now in cedar hill, but today the front desk attendant was awful. I came in (after they called me) and stood at the front desk to check in. The girl at the desk didn't look up. Finally another lady who operates the check out window intervened. The lady's face, who intervened, said sorry but she didn't say it. Usually there is a lady of Asian decent at the front desk who is extremely nice and helpful. Hopefully the lady who was at the front today is just a temp. The new doctor on duty wasn't that attentive either. They need to stop playing and bring back the old staff. The nurses were amazing as always which is why I gave 3 stars. read more

Ladies on the weekends are really rude, but the clinical staff is very nice and efficient. Receptionists were SO sarcastic when we checked in and asked how long the wait was...only 1person in lobby and were told 1-1/2 -2 hours... but as more people came iny daughter and I watched them speak dismissively and acted SO inconvenienced by having to speak with patients instead of just each other with most everyone that came in. This place makes big money on their cash patients and should realize that the front staff sets the tone for patient satisfaction. read more

I had a bacteria skin infection, and was treated very timely. The service was very professional, the nurses and doctors were well educated and informed, and responsive to my needs. They also calmed me as I was afraid I may have contacted a staph infection. They prescribed antibiotics and followed up with me several times to until the condition was cured. The facilities were emaculate and their process was very efficient. I highly recommend this facility. I also recommend the online check in. read more

I got hurt at work and went to CareNow for treatment. First of all, they are rude and make you wait for hours because it's a worker's compensation injury. After Dr. Nguyen diagnosed me with a sprain and told me that it could take up to 6 weeks to heal, I went back because I was still in pain. Another doctor at the facility ordered 6 weeks of physical therapy and I began to get better, but not completely healed. I went back to CareNow and Dr. Nguyen ordered a MRI. The MRI showed a partially torn tendon and my job is refusing to pay for it because Dr. Nguyen misdiagnosed it originally. He wasn't man enough to even admit that he had made a mistake. He didn't write in his report about the bruise on my leg that everyone that was around me after the fall saw. Even the nurse at my job diagnosed the injury better than he did. It's a shame that worker's compensation and CareNow treats people like this. My whole family has gone to CareNow and may of my family members. I will let everyone that I see know how Dr. Nguyen misdiagnosed me and stood by it. read more

I usually don't even review people if something negative happens but I'm just over what happened at this location, it was inexcusable. I checked in at 11:45AM, the front desk said it would be an hour before I could be seen and they would call me. I received a call at 12:33 making sure my info was correct in the computer and they were sure to tell me "the room" still was not ready. Time passes so I go back in at 2pm letting them know that I haven't received a call back- the front desk seemed confused so she went to the back and asked the nurses. She comes back to the front a few minutes later & lets me know that the nurses said I still had five more people in front of me and it would be about ANOTHER hour. Not to mention there are NO people in the waiting room that were here while I was here the first time to check in. So instead of admitting they were wrong and putting me next, they lied to cover their asses. THEN, at 2:30 I get a phone call from the nurses asking me to come back to the clinic WHILE I was sitting in the waiting room. They had no idea I was there and sounded like they never talked to a front desk person. So I finally get back to a room... and after being in the ROOM for an HOUR a doctor comes in and takes two minutes to tell me I have sinus issues. At the end of the day the same lady at the front desk tells me I have to pay FULL price bc my insurance doesn't pay for my visit which is total bull. On top of THAT... I gave them a call that same day and the office manager tried to apologize for my "20 minute wait" and the mix up with my insurance. I was sure to inform her of the full story... my almost 4 hour wait, 2 minute diagnosis & rude, unorganized front desk staff. My husband then gets to Walgreens to pick up my prescription & they tell him that the carenow informed them that I didn't have insurance. Ha. The worse part is the doctor prescribed me medication for a RASH on top of the antibiotics. MIND YOU I NEVER HAD A RASH. I woke up the next morning in so much pain I couldn't stop crying. I asked my mother who is in the medical field to look up the medication. He prescribed me something that was extremely harmful to many people, including extreme pain to the arms, legs and some even leading to death. Needless to say.... KEEP AWAY from this office. There is no reason why I did a web-checkin at literally 9:01 pm and did not receive a call to come in until 9:45m ... And then I'm sitting in the office until 11. And I still was not seen. All I needed was a wellness exam... Care now claims to be urgent care but you might as well go to a ER... you'll wait just as long. And even though I did my check-in t 9:01 the night before they claim that they didn't receive it until 7:38am the next morning which is their excuse for me not being called to come in until almost 10am. I am extremely pissed because I had an appointment at 11:30 nd still had not been seen by 11. Really care now? 4hours? Ridiculous. And the staff does not care at all. You tell them you're leaving and they just say bye. They don't apologize.. they don't take ownership of the issue.. they don't even ask you why you're leaving because they don't care. And when I ask for a supervisor they never want to say who it is or they're never available to talk to. I can't wait until the corporate office openjs Monday because I'm letting them know that this center might as well be an ER... 0 stars. Y'all suck.
