This is a reliable alternative to going to your primary GP and better on your wallet than an ER visit. I have for the last 10 years visited this location for the usual reasons ie bronchitis, food poisoning, etc and they're always helpful and prescriptions are shared with your pharmacy almost immediately. At one point, since I visited on a Sunday, they couldn't give me lab results until Monday but prescribed something in the interim. Lo and behold Monday morning, I received lab results, knew which prescription to pick up after the workday, and what to do with it and within a particular time duration. This CareNow location is super convenient for me, being so close to home. I definitely recommend checking in online before heading over. It helps a bit with the wait, although it doesn't always seem like they prioritize online check-ins over walk-ins. The check-in process itself could be a lot smoother. It feels more complicated than it needs to be. The care you receive is generally fine, but the wait times can be frustratingly long, even when the waiting room is nearly empty. This is the worst urgent care I've ever been to. I'm so disappointed and disgusted in how the receptionist treated me and my boyfriend. When we walked in we didn't get any welcoming or even a greet. The ladies working at the front desk were having their own conversation about God knows what and just pointed at the sign we needed to check in to. No explanation or anything. When we finally checked in online i asked the lady if we needed to fill out anything else and she gave a rude response that there was nothing else. Few minutes passed and she rudely asked again where the insurance was from. With him having over seas insurance she rudely told us that well they don't accept it and that we would need to pay upfront. Money isn't an issue here but the rudeness made us walk out. Repetitious paperwork not only do you put paperwork, but you do a registration on your phone. It took over an hour to do an injection for immunizations and it was only one person ahead of me. I came into CareNow with severe lower abdominal pain. I was told after a UA and very quick "feel test" of my lower abdomen that it "wasn't anything to worry about" and that I will "get something prescribed to me that's a little stronger than Advil (what I was using) and it should clear up in a couple days since it's the weekend and a lot of places aren't open." I went somewhere else (an actual hospital) and was told I had diverticulitis. TLDR; diverticulitis can cause SEPSIS and you die. Do not trust this place. Go to an actual hospital or the 24 hour emergency on Montrose/Gray. This place is a joke and potentially life threatening. read more

I came here on vacation after I thought I sprained my foot really bad. I had to wait about 10 minutes before being help from the front desk and I thought the sign in process was overwhelming. But Erick was great! He so nice and welcoming, a breath of fresh air after being worried about your health. He wrapped my foot and make sure I knew how to use the crutches and the boot. Dr Salehain was very helpful as well and she tried to get to understand the best she could how it happened. Very helpful with explaining the care of my foot and getting me a prescription. I spent two hours here but after X-rays and getting all the different items, I understand it was carefully analyzed. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! They are incompetent with incompetent doctors. They are local to my house which is the only reason I have come! I went for a pimple in my ear which the doctor diagnosed as shingles and provided medication , which later turns out was a deep black head that popped with a pimple patch. I also later found out there are no medications that can be provided if you have shingles. My wife went there last week and was told she was diagnosed with the flu and upon doctor recommendation was told to rest for a week to recover however was not provided a doctors note which caused issues with her place of employment. We returned to get a doctors excuse and was told the doctor who saw her was not in and they were not allowed to disclose when she would be back. They suggested we call everyday to find out, which you could imagine is an inconvenience. We went in person to get the letter due to doctor still not being there days later. My wife's job was not happy about this and it caused issues with Human Resources. We spoke to the manger of the clinic Kamilah who stated there was nothing that could be done even with my wife's job being on the line. After going back and forth she finally suggested we sign a release of information to have letter emailed to us when doctor returns( still unaware of when this will be ). I am going to follow up with the bbb to inform them of these concerns. Please find a real doctors office or a better urgent care if you are in need! read more

You'll be turned away since 4 other people were 'coming in'. #SAYL Update: I walked back in having none of this nonsense. Spoke with a manager, with attitude, but got in and the tech and doctor top notch. Ended up in the ER. I'm glad I went back in and advocated for myself. My visit included all those things with great customer service from the young lady at the front desk. Actually I was pretty surprised at how quickly I was checked in and seen especially since I've never visited this location. As soon as I was taken to the room a PA arrived and gathered all necessary info. The doc came very shortly after. Although it was quick, I felt like each person listened and sought to understand how to help. As long as the billing on the backend goes well, I shouldn't have to update this review. WORST URGENT CARE EVER!!! I was in Houston on vacation & broke a nail which was my whole nail the real part! & the doctor there was pulling it out without numbing me!! I told her to stop and snatched my hand away , told her she was hurting me & I needed to be numbed!! She kept trying to tell me I didn't want the numbing as I assured her I DID! So she went to get the needle and as I THOUGHT she was injecting me she was NOT & still pulling on my real nail taking it out the socket! I cried so much it's like this lady wanted to see me in pain & I didn't understand why she felt like she was doing me a favor instead of her JOB! She convinced me to pull my finger nail off with no numbing , she never offered me pain meds or anything , I left with the worst traumatic experience of my life here , I had to go to another urgent care when I got home that took much better care of me! She also put a gauze on my finger that wasn't NON STICK so I had to detach the gauze from my wound i wasn't even healing when I left here!! read more

Actually had a great experience while at the office-- quick, competent staff. Awesome PA. Had strep, got a + rapid strep test, the right abx and got outta there. Less than 30 minutes total. But.... I just got a the bill. Before insurance kicked in, they charged me $429. They charge $379 for a new pt office visit and $50 for a strep assay. I called to say this is incorrect and they didn't budge. How anyone could think $379 is reasonable for an office visit is incomprehensible to me. DO NOT GO HERE. Seriously, you could go to an ER for less than that. Edit to Hannah B: yeah I have called for assistance multiple times and they've only confirmed that you charge these absurd prices for insured patients. That is completely unhelpful. I will not be coming back and advise others to avoid this place as well. read more

Long wait but great experience. Been sick off and on for two weeks. I received a latter from my PCP that he is no longer at that practice and it's my preference not to see the other physician at that location so this has left me without a primary doctor for 3 months. A coworker recommended I come here. I went on the website and saw you could do a web check in. I made the appointment and left since I was under a 5 minute drive away. I was checked in as soon as I arrived and just had to complete and sign paperwork. I waited for close to an hour and a half to be seen but once I was seen it was quick. The doctor was personable, freiendly, and attentive. Total time there: 2 hours. Before I left my prescriptions had been called in so I went immediate after to pick them up. This was my first ever experience at an urgent care facility. Other than the wait it was very pleasant and the wait was pretty comparable to other doctors visits. read more

She made me feel so much better and empathized with my situation. The person who took X-rays was also gentle and courteous and helped me in and out of the wheelchair. And the NP Antoinette, what a lovely person. She explained every step of what she was doing to make me feel better. She treated me with much respect and empathy . Having an accident is no fun but getting such professional treatment makes a big difference. The next day I called back for more medicine and she was able to prescribe something to help me feel better. So understanding and took time to explain the different medications and how they work. I checked in online, but had no wait after filling out initial forms on tablet. The front desk attendant was extremely nice and answered many questions, she took the time to make sure I felt welcomed and informed. Was immediately seen by a nurse to obtain my medical history and stats. Within a matter of minutes was seen by the NP who took the time to ask the appropriate questions and check vital signs to come to a quick accurate diagnosis. I came in back in September of this year. I was greeted when I walked in the door and treated like a friend for the entire check-in process. I was seen about 5 minutes after I checked in. The young lady who did my medical screening was friendly and professional. I waited for about 10 minutes before being seen by the Doctor, not a PA, MA, or Nurse Practioner. He diagnosed my ailment and prescribed medications to alleviate my discomfort. He also provided me with literature further educationing me about my ailment. This review is for warning and awareness not to talk down on the doctors are staff. ** Note I was warned about low staff and I was completely understanding and willing to wait for my results to receive whatever medication and directions from doctor,but once I found out my results just so happen were ready on the exact 3rd day and I had to do a follow up because after 3 days it's too long. (I was told by the front desk once my results came in the doctor would prescribe me medication) To know I was was seen and not thoroughly examined I was left in complete shock, I am not a doctor and don't get sick so I believed the doctor was doing everything that was to be done. We definitely learn from our lack of knowledge in areas. I just really want to share to help you get an understanding of your visit and how to possibly have a better outcome. 1. Are you familiar with how they will handle your case? If not I urge you to ask many questions before signing anything and begin seen 2. Are you really in need of answers the day you are seen, do you need medication, do you need the doctor to fully examine you even when they find out about current or your past history? 3. Ask about being charged before or after your insurance is billed. 4. Results are not urgent and calling front desk for help is not going to help you. 5. Once results are in which will come in after or on the 3 days they will make you do a follow up on whatever they did when you were in the office, no one will prescribe you any medication once they have your results they will only be posted. 6. Reasons for you having to come back in is because you have waited for 3 days and should come back sooner even though results will not be before those 3 days. ***I write this review because the doctor I seen had he been more thorough with me could have helped me, I believe he is actually a good doctor and may just be working according to his jobs policy/protocol. If your visit is urgent I truly recommend finding a different name all together not sure if this is standard for all facilities. I ended up going to the Woodlands and was treated very well. Do not use MedSpring. They have been bought out by CareNow and they are charging terribly high rates. My wife recently visited and was seen by a PA who told her she needed no treatment of any kind. We were charged $248 for the visit of which our insurance paid $78. We were left with a bill of $170. I paid the bill just to protect our credit rating. Also, I posted a couple of very good reviews after visits in the past when I was treated fairly and only charged a co-pay of $35. I removed those reviews today as they no longer reflect what people should expect from this place. Again, don't use this place unless you don't mind paying rates that are extremely high. read more

Do not go here unless you want to pay to be sick forever. Went on Saturday bc I suspected I had strep throat. Had a terrible experience. The doctor was highly incompetent and suggested I order honey from amazon, despite my insistence I didn't have allergies (no history and no congestion) and that my throat was patchy. He never checked my glands or looked into my mouth with a light. I had to ask him about a few conditions, one in which he laughed and said he couldn't believe he forgot to consider. He basically just talked at me instead of listening. Nurse had to prick me twice instead of once bc the blood collector didn't have a suction. Two days later, still sick as a dog, go to a real doctor and not a hack - classic case of tonsillitis. On an antibiotic now, but was sick all weekend and had to miss work today which all could have been avoided. Very, very frustrating. What's worse is Dr. Abosso (unsure on the spelling), said he was the director and oversaw the medicine at a few locations. This origanization faces a systemic issue with him at the helm. Highly recommend the Methodist minute clinic or looking into concierge medicine. Medspring is a disaster and should be avoided. read more
