Marshall's feels like a K-Mart that had its sign replaced, donned some tacky jewelry, dabbed on some cheap cologne, and tried to pass itself off as greater than the sum of its parts. Comparatively, the experience is better than the Ross just down the way, but that's not saying very much. The quality of goods here tends to lean towards the higher end of quality but, as the scales must be balanced, the consistency and quantity of products feels even more unpredictable. Some shelves/sections are frequently picked nearly clean like the bones of a dead animal, while others (perfume & cosmetics, for example) that are near to bursting with a chaotic array of high brow, low brow and eyebrow products. Strange, as there's a lot of wasted floor space throughout the building. Customers here *tend* to be a bit more respectful than those at Ross, and don't leave their cast-off items lying haphazardly around the building as often. However, they have similar issues with long lines, but they at least staff their registers with competent staff that manage to churn through the longest of queues within a few minutes, even during peak times, so kudos to them for, you know...trying to make money. If you're a keen-eyed bargain hunter, with enough patience or shopping savvy, you can find one-off wonders and curious curios. Overall, though, off-price stores like Marshall's and Ross prey on the compulsive habits of those shoppers most susceptible to impulse buying, or seeking validation through retail therapy: they exist for the *shopper*, not the customer: an important distinction.

This is one if my favorite Marshalls. Don't understand the negative reviews. The store is large, clean, well organized and has a good inventory across lots of categories. Women's, juniors, mens and children's clothing. Coats. Athletic wear. Gym and workout items. Pet supplies. Home decor. Bedding. Shoes. Handbags. Bath and beauty. Storage. Kitchen gadgets. Dishes. Seasonal and holiday items. They have it all! In fact, they have way too much good stuff and I can not fit anymore Marshalls purchases in my home without discarding items! I bought two 3 piece all wicker conversation sets for my balcony at $199 each, so four chairs and two end tables for $400. It's been three years and they still look brand new. Every season I refresh my wardrobe with fashion forward items that don't cost a lot of money. You can tell what's in fashion based on a pattern that shows up across departments. For example, for Fall 2019 it's all about leopard and animal prints. This print can be found on pillows, throw blankets, sweaters, ponchos, scarves, storage baskets, bathroom stools, chairs, wrapping paper - everywhere! At Marshalls, you can have the in-fashion item for a fraction of department store price so you don't care if you only use for one season. For fall, I bought a camo denim jacket, a leopard print poncho/shawl, and a jumpsuit. In total, less than $50. Customer service has always been helpful and friendly. I visit this store often, it's on my regular rounds. I go just to see what's new or when I'm in need of retail therapy. It never disappoints!

I am a regular shopper of this Marshalls store because I always find something here that I like enough to purchase. I rarely leave this store without a Marshalls bag. The store has a pleasant shopping atmosphere. It is clean, organized and has bright lighting. Even though some areas may get a bit messy, it doesn't dampen the shopping experience here. The store carries a great assortment of quality merchandise at discount prices. You won't find too many employees on the salesfloor because discount stores are aimed at customers who are self sufficient. Low overhead helps to keep the prices down. But if you really need assistance from an employee, you just have to hunt for someone. There was a long line at check-out today but it moved along at a good pace and there is a lot of impulse merchandise to look at while you're in line. The employee who performed my check-out was friendly and courteous.

Everytime I come here, everything is nicely placed!

This is one of those stores I actually love to come to, not for myself, but for my significant other. Everytime we are staying in Portland, usually we are in the airport area, which is real close to coming over here. This area is new, like you can still smell the fresh paint, new! And everytime we come into this store, my dear darts to the kitchen area right away, like any person looking for a good deal. I think we are 2-for-2 now, everytime money is dropped at this store. I've been to my fair share of Marshalls in the States, and this one does stand out, not just for the 'newness' of the joint, but because it's not like the other joints where it has been looted after a shopping spree, the staff here puts everything in place where you're not digging for treasure, but comfortably shopping for items. Nicely, and orderly placed in their rightful places. The quality of goods here is a cut above the other's (I shouldn't be saying this.. cause the stuff I want maybe all gone the next time I go!) as we were able to find some real good, high quality, pans hung nicely in their section. I have had a chance to go through their other sections, and if I was really inclined to look for something else to buy, and I had no self control I would probably do some good damage here. Luckily that is not the case, but it's always nice to see my dear totally ecstatic finding a real gem to add to her kitchen collection! It's a place where you're probably going to need car to come, as it's nowhere near the city, doesn't phase me one bit, and that is probably why there is always good stuff here! The staff is friendly here, and usually at the end (with part of their job) they will ask you to sign up for their 'club-card'. This place is never too crowded, definitely a place to shop for a great deal, and don't be surprised if you pull out some money and it is left here. The words "take my money" have never been so true......

Everything was signed well and easy to get through. I asked for some help finding a particular size in pants and the associate was really helpful! She had offered us bags earlier in our trip too. It was nice to have the help but also not feel pressured or watched while we were shopping. The checkout line was a bit long but went quickly. A couple of my items wrong up incorrectly and the cashier promptly fixed them. My only complaint was the fitting room. It's tucked in the back corner so isn't the most convenient to get into to begin with. Then they were all being used so there was a line to get in. This space is also where the bathrooms are so it became a bit of a logistical nightmare. The associates in there also didn't appear to be the happiest to be there. Not friendly at all. It was also incredibly hot in the store and fitting rooms which made shopping a bit unpleasant.

With Marshall's, Home Goods, Ross, Nordstrom Rack, Target and IKEA plus many other popular retailers and restaurants there, makes this a destination for one stop shopping. Since the store is new, it's really clean and well organized. Like all Old Navy stores, they have jeans in every sizes style, length, width and waist height. I'm a fan of the original high-waist straight leg and scored a pair for just $22. Without a doubt, Old Navy has the absolute best athletic wear. Their leggings last for years and years of daily wear. They are made so well and also come in full, ankl, Capri and shorts so whatever season, whatever your style, it's here. The colors and patterns are beautiful and since it's all I wear now that I'm retired, I have dozens! My favorite are the powersoft with pockets in the thigh, perfect for carrying your phone during workouts. Wait until they go on sale and stock up when they are $19.99 rather than $39.99. The cotton ribbed tank tops are also a fave that I have in every color, ultioles in black, white and olive. They wash great, retain their shape and last for years. For $6, it's a steal. They also have men's and children's clothing. And always a clearance rack worth checking out. Plus scarves, hats, fashion jewelry and totes. Located near Marshall's at Cascade Station, definitely stop in. Sign up for their emails so you know what's on sale; something is on sale every day.

The man who sold me this pair of Hoka One One is perhaps the most vivacious, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and happy person I have ever met in a shoe store. He is the antithesis of Al Bundy. I have been hiking my entire vacation out here in Portland, clocking something like 40 miles in five days. (don't judge if you're a big-time hiker. I'm just getting started. I need time for tattoos, meeting my cousin for the first time, and other vacation type stuff) anyway the point is my feet are tired. Hoka is to feet what Visine is to a stoner's eyes. So I went in there. This guy was like a super happy positive ant lion. There was no possible way I was leaving without a pair of shoes, less I endure the sight of his bright smile faltering for just one second. And I don't regret it. But there's more. You see I missed my flight this morning because of a delay and the airline had to reschedule it all, and comp me a hotel room near this shopping mall. So instead of going home today, I'm stuck next to 20 acres of retail, which thankfully includes bars. Four margaritas in, I'm wandering around again and I see him walking a couple out. Each has the exact same bag that I had, with the same blue box emblazoned with the same brand. They are praising him for his knowledge and thanking him for the $600 they just dropped. Corporate, if you're reading this, this dude is regional manager material. I wanted to slap him high five, and yell, "Bro! Hoka! F@&k yeah!!" But that seemed like it would be a lot. And none of those three had been drinking margaritas all day. Anyway, point is, buy some shoes here.

It was my first time at this chain and I was impressed by the name brands they carry - Nike, Columbia, Brooks, Birkenstock, Easy Spirit, Sketchers, Ryka, New Balance, Mia, Frye, Dr. Scholls, Adidas - and more! Most are previous season, but who, other than shoe aficionados, tracks shoe styles by season? I'm seeking styles that work with my ethos, are comfortable, and don't break the bank. At this location, I found several that met my needs. Walked out with Sketchers Slip In glide sandals, a retro looking pair of Adidas, and the new comfy fit Sketchers slip in sneakers. Pretty good hall! In addition to the shoes, they have a few accessories like handbags, wristlets, Sketchers activewear clothing (didn't even know they made activewear) and belts. Only negative was i was expecting higher discounts. Most shoes seemed to be 10-20% less, which i can often find online, but I do like, and need, the ability to try on live until I know my fit in a particular brand and style. Located at the Cascade strip mall by the airport, it's a convenient location with tons of parking. If you order online they ship free and if you need to return, just bring to the store for no fee.
