Greeted with a scowl and body language that really said "you aren't welcome". Ambience of a Cafe in a mall. Waitress was attentive so you get a star back. Scowly waitress carried four drinks to a table without a tray had one drink pressed against armpit, her breasts assisted with the other three. Nice carry! Food was decent but basic. Our waitress was great. These two things give a passable score. Bottom line there are many places to go to in this area. I am a tourist so I am not a repeat customer. Maybe my comments won't matter except to other tourists.

Nice surprise at the end of a side mall with friendly staff and cold beers! Caribbean vibe with a nice smattering of food and drink options. Convenient for shoppers to stay cool, too!

Very polite and fast service we'll definitely be back

Very quick and friendly staff. BLT and Easter island chicken sandwich was delicious. We'll have to come back with the kids

Had the fish tacos that were recommended by everyone...fish was soggy but seasoned ok...maybe a frozen tilapia that's was cooked. Not really all that great for 17$. Salt life has better fish tacos. A friend I ate with had raw chicken wings that were pink and bloody still. Don't think we will ever eat here again.

Stopped in on a Sunday night (during December/St Augie Christmas festivities) but we were able to get seated before the rush. Our server was really nice and personable. She took our orders quickly and had pleasant conversation. Our food arrived pretty quickly and was hot and steamy. Here's what we got and our thoughts: Fish and chips - very good. Very mild and large portions. Aloha chicken - a chicken breast (I chose grilled) with ham and pineapple on top. I'm a sucker for pineapple. It was very, very good! Really nice sandwich. Nachos with cheese for the kid - they were.... Ok. To be fair, our server did warn us that it wasn't queso (we assumed it wasn't) but that it was nacho cheese. Kid was more than happy with nacho cheese. But.... It was more like... plain cheddar cheese sauce, like what comes in the Campbells can. It wasn't great. We were a little surprised by our total when the bill came, until we noticed that they automatically included a "large party 18% service fee". There were three of us. Two adults and a kid. I guess we didn't realize that three people is considered a "large party." Overall... it was a decent meal.

I stumbled in for a quick bite to eat at Barefoot Bills Island Grill. There is an upbeat family, friendly vibe. Fun decor for the holidays and a bunch of tiki masks my blackened shrimp Poboy was awesome.. It was exactly what I expected plus the fries are delicious. Food is reasonably priced and certainly a value compared to all the other overpriced restaurants off of St. George. Marie was my server and she got me in and out of the restaurant quickly, which was my goal. Marie took great care of me. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items, especially since I work nearby.

The rundown: Nice, casual environment with friendly service and reasonable pricing. The review: As one of the few late night food restaurants open, we decided to give Barefoot Bill's a try. We were met with friendly staff and found a variety of burger options. I was glad to see there were a good number of toppings that could be chosen for no additional cost - always fun! I went with a burger and pasta salad side. The side was quite small, but good. The burger was decent. *Be advised they are cooked well-done so those of you preferring other temperatures may be disappointed. I appreciated the staff enthusiasm, especially at the later hour and while festivities were going on away from their location (this was during Halloween). If you're in the mood for something casual and you have limited options, I'd say give Bill's a go. They may not come off as the lost memorable, but they will take care of you.

Got seating quickly, considering it was a holiday weekend.. Ordered burger and tacosb since we knew that if we ordered any specials, it would take time as the place was packed due to the Christmas season.. The jerk burger has a kick to it as expected.. They were both good... Service was also good... They do have indoor and outdoor seating. It's located right in the center of the historic district..

Not much atmosphere and the menu had nothing unique. We only sat at the bar and had a few drinks, but we did have a direct view of the kitchen and one of the cooks never once changed his gloves, even after handling raw chicken and then grabbing rolls with the same gloves had. Not much concern for food handling practices displayed. Definitely won't be back

Quick little nibble before we venture out to sea for a couple hours. Grilled shrimp salad for Queen Bee and a burger with LTOP for me; no fries. I asked for slaw instead. We sat at the bar as the two lady barkeeps and one of the kitchen dwellers all day around and discussed online clothing purchases they wanna make. Personally, I don't really care but I don't think I should hafta listen in on people's personal business when I'm a guest of theirs. Anyway, Queen Bee loved her salad, topped by half a dozen good sized and well grilled shrimp...romaine, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes are other ingredients in the salad. That sucker went down faster than a fat kid on a see saw! She made a happy bowl even though it was a pretty big bowl anyway! Burger was charred outside and a decent medium well inside. Items I chose as toppings made for a slightly sloppy sammich but not horribly so. My only suggestion would be that they toast the rather plain ordinary (borderline crappy) bun! Slaw was a nice portion of great, creamy and slightly acidic bunch of Napa, purple cabbages and carrot. Way casual joint with very little vibe of any sort. Server was fairly attentive when she wasn't discussing fashion purchase choices with her coworkers. Food certainly was okay and then some. Three stars is STILL all it gets and I don't think we'd ever bother with this joint again. Eh

Well...for a touristy area like St Augustine I think this place is exactly what you would expect for bar/food. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. Food came out quick and was good..not bad but not spectacular either. What really surprised/irritated me was they added an automatic tip for our party of 6 tho 4 of the party are 15 and under abs all ordered from kids menu. If it was 6 adults maybe I can see the auto tip but honestly when you do that I don't add anything else. If you don't trust an adult to add their own tip you're getting whatever you add yourself nothing more.

Had a very good selection of beverages. Fun atmosphere-a good place to stop along your stroll in St Augustine

We were looking for a place for a quick bite before going on a haunted pub crawl. It was still early and we were the only folks in there for a time. It was basically a bar with bar food. There were tiki masks on one wall and TV's with the sports channels. Of course, we were seated immediately. We didn't order alcohol because of our plans for later on. Our entrees were Datil chicken wings, salad with chicken, and a French dip. Wow! My French dip was great!. The wings were very good as we shared those, but there wasn't much heat from the Datil pepper sauce. My wife enjoyed her salad, too. I recommend this place when looking for simple comfort food.

GOOD: Good size portions, reasonable prices, especially for cocktails. The same margarita would be $14 elsewhere. I had the "Wrap it up mango" tuna wrap with fried plaintains as my side. Plaintains were a big portion, so I took half home. The wrap was very tropical with fruit and sushi grade tuna. I ate it all, which was greedy of me, but I enjoyed it and felt overfull (my bad). Hubby had the clam and shrimp chowder and 2 apps. Very tender clams, thick texture and more shrimp flavor than clam, tasty for sure. Conch fritters good and in our top 5 (we get them everywhere and have been disappointed but now here). The wings were cooked perfectly, not heavy and crispy. The key lime flavor was good but too light. BAD: Service was a bit slow, but our waitress was super friendly and welcoming. The other servers seemed right on top of the other diners. 2 person tables are a bit too small if you order multiple appetizers. But nothing bad at all here.

We were told a certain amount of time and it ended up being about double that. I heard the same story from others as well. We had to order basically "to go" inside and wait and take it outside to our table. Fine process. But LONG. The food was pretty good tho. Can't rush tasty food. It would just be nice to have a more accurate time. If you say 15 mins I'll just wait there. But when it's nearing 40 mins and now I've missed some of the band - that's a bummer. I would have just gone back out and came back to check in. Idk. There has to be a better process there somewhere. It won't keep me away tho!

We got off the trolley at Stop 20, National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, and were going to walk to the restaurant. Unbeknownst to us, there was no crosswalk to cross the busy Ponce de Leon boulevard. Mom isn't as spry as she once was so we didn't risk crossing without a crosswalk, so we had to walk another 1/4 or so to the nearest crosswalk then doubled back to the restaurant. Located in the The Ponce St. Augustine hotel, the restaurant is just to the left of the main doors. We had to wait a bit to get seated as the lone server had to clean a table first. Service was slow. I ordered the Bistec a Caballo (medium), my wife tried their Pork de Leon with fries and my mom opted for the Inca bowl. Did I say service was slow? Our orders weren't synched up. My order and my wife's sandwich were served first and we had to wait a few minutes before my mom's dish was served. My wife liked her sandwich and fries although she thought the shredded pork was a bit dry. My mom liked the flavors of her dish, with tender cuts of meat and smoky soy sauce flavor. The Bistec a Caballo had decent flavors BUT that steak was tough, even ordered medium. I felt like I was cutting through shoe leather cutting it with the serrated knife. Slow service and a tough steak bumped our rating down. We just couldn't overlook the quality and/or preparation of my steak, even with good flavors. Lunch for 3 came out to just over $67 with tip. Oh yeah, they add a surcharge for credit card payments.

We had made reservations ahead of time, and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. That set the tone right away, no waiting, no stress, just walking in and being welcomed like the day actually mattered, which of course it did to us. Our waiter, Elijah, was outstanding. He struck that perfect balance, attentive without hovering, always nearby when we needed something, but never interrupting the flow of our dinner. You can tell when someone takes real pride in their work, and that's exactly how he came across. It made a difference. For dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Salteado, and Cheryl had the Chicken Salteado. Both dishes were excellent, rich with flavor, perfectly cooked, and exactly what you want from the Columbia's Spanish-Cuban style. My shrimp was tender and well-seasoned, and Cheryl's chicken had that same depth of flavor that makes you slow down and really enjoy each bite. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt off, just consistently great food from start to finish. What makes the experience even more meaningful is the history you're sitting inside. The Columbia isn't just another restaurant, it's part of Florida's story. It was founded in 1905 by Casimiro Hernandez Sr. in Ybor City and has grown into Florida's oldest continuously operated restaurant. Knowing that you're dining in a place with that kind of legacy, where generations of families have gathered for celebrations, adds something you can't really replicate anywhere else. As we sat there together, celebrating 31 years of marriage, it just felt right. The atmosphere, the service, the food, it all lined up with the moment. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely kind, and that consistency is what turns a good dinner into a memorable one. For us, it wasn't just a meal. It was the kind of experience you hope for on an anniversary, one where you can relax, reflect, and just enjoy being together. And today, the Columbia delivered that perfectly.
