Scowly waitress carried four drinks to a table without a tray had one drink pressed against armpit, her breasts assisted with the other three. Nice carry! Food was decent but basic. Our waitress was great. These two things give a passable score. Bottom line there are many places to go to in this area. I am a tourist so I am not a repeat customer. Stopped in on a Sunday night (during December/St Augie Christmas festivities) but we were able to get seated before the rush. Our server was really nice and personable. She took our orders quickly and had pleasant conversation. Our food arrived pretty quickly and was hot and steamy. Here's what we got and our thoughts: Fish and chips - very good. Very mild and large portions. Aloha chicken - a chicken breast (I chose grilled) with ham and pineapple on top. I'm a sucker for pineapple. It was very, very good! Really nice sandwich. Nachos with cheese for the kid - they were.... Ok. To be fair, our server did warn us that it wasn't queso (we assumed it wasn't) but that it was nacho cheese. Kid was more than happy with nacho cheese. But.... It was more like... plain cheddar cheese sauce, like what comes in the Campbells can. It wasn't great. Fun decor for the holidays and a bunch of tiki masks my blackened shrimp Poboy was awesome.. It was exactly what I expected plus the fries are delicious. Food is reasonably priced and certainly a value compared to all the other overpriced restaurants off of St. George. Marie was my server and she got me in and out of the restaurant quickly, which was my goal. Marie took great care of me. Best food with decent pricing for a touristy area! The food and service here is phenomenal. Went here last fall, and got the fish and chips, and signature Datil chicken wings. We such a great experience, we had to come back during this recent trip. This recent trip, we visited them twice. First night, got a double order of the Datil wings - cooked to perfection and possibly even better than the ones we got the first time we visited. Even the leftovers we took back to the air bnb made for the perfect midnight snack later that evening. Second visit was on our way leaving St. Augustine. This time we got something different, blackened Mahi sando w/fries, and Philly cheesesteak w/fries. Both yummy (especially if you throw a little heat in from the Datil hot sauce they have). In addition, the staff members here every night we have been were very friendly and respectful. The first impression was the male waiter saying he wanted to take a bath with a toaster and die which could be a funny joke but it didn't stop there he kept cussing and the letting the FBomb fly with small children around. The female waitress got into a loud argument with a family that was obviously foreign and didn't understand the 6+ automatic gratuity rule. Instead of calmly explaining it she was speaking so loud and berating the customer and then started discussing it loudly with other customer and making fun of the family. We only sat at the bar and had a few drinks, but we did have a direct view of the kitchen and one of the cooks never once changed his gloves, even after handling raw chicken and then grabbing rolls with the same gloves had. Personally, I don't really care but I don't think I should hafta listen in on people's personal business when I'm a guest of theirs. Anyway, Queen Bee loved her salad, topped by half a dozen good sized and well grilled shrimp...romaine, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes are other ingredients in the salad. That sucker went down faster than a fat kid on a see saw! She made a happy bowl even though it was a pretty big bowl anyway! Burger was charred outside and a decent medium well inside. Items I chose as toppings made for a slightly sloppy sammich but not horribly so. My only suggestion would be that they toast the rather plain ordinary (borderline crappy) bun! Slaw was a nice portion of great, creamy and slightly acidic bunch of Napa, purple cabbages and carrot. Way casual joint with very little vibe of any sort. Well...for a touristy area like St Augustine I think this place is exactly what you would expect for bar/food. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. Food came out quick and was good..not bad but not spectacular either. What really surprised/irritated me was they added an automatic tip for our party of 6 tho 4 of the party are 15 and under abs all ordered from kids menu. If it was 6 adults maybe I can see the auto tip but honestly when you do that I don't add anything else. If you don't trust an adult to add their own tip you're getting whatever you add yourself nothing more. read more

This place is a solid three star spot. It's casual and was quick when we stopped in on a Friday for a late lunch. We seated ourselves and our server was nice and attentive during our meal. It's located within one of the shopping buildings in the St. George area of town. Let me just say that our waitress was fantastic and she made us feel welcomed. She was thoughtful and was very attentive. However, the biggest thing that turned me off with this place is the absolute disregard for COVID protocols. With that said, the staff did not wear masks, no sanitation stations were in place, although they did clean the tables, I'm not sure how effective the cleaner they used actually was. Also, the restaurant allowed people without masks to use their dining room as a general passage way from the shops to the outside and vice versa. If it wasn't for the fact that I did not want to be rude, I really would have rather walked out and picked somewhere else for lunch. But we stayed and I ordered some fish and chips and my husband ordered a cuban sandwich with fries. The fish was fine. It had favors but the fries are basic, nothing special type. He said his Cuban sandwich was only okay and that the one he usually gets at a restaurant back home is much better. We live in the Midwest so... judging from his statement, I would say his sandwich was subpar for sure. Would I come back? Definitely not. Our waitress was nice enough but I did not appreciate how the place made me feel... Like I would catch something from anyone at any moment. Just your average burger joint located in the heart of downtown St. Augustine. I took my sister here while we were vacationing in Florida. She wanted a burger and we found this place within walking distance. The inside is adorable! The decor is very bright and colorful with little elements that are reminiscent of the "island" theme. The bar is rounded with plenty of seats and a few TV's to enjoy watching your sport of choice. We sat in a booth in the back corner. It was a little uncomfortable because it was freezing and the fan was located right over the top of our table. We asked our server is she could turn it down, which she gladly did. Bill's has lots of different burger variations along with salads, sandwiches and a few seafood options. We decided to start with jalapeño poppers as our appetizer. I ordered the build-a-burger and kept it simple with the most basic ingredients, and my sister ordered the pirate burger which came with ham, bacon, Swiss, and American cheese. My sister had never had jalapeño poppers before (yes, unfortunately that kid is living somewhat of a sheltered life!), so she was excited to try them. The outside was a perfect crispy golden brown, but it was overloaded with waaay too much cream cheese. We tried to eat them and even scraped some of it off, but this appetizer was just a complete fail. My burger was decent but average at best. The veggies didn't taste very fresh and there weren't very many of them on the burger. The cheese wasn't melted and the fries were pretty dry. My sister claimed that her burger was the best that she'd every had. But, any hungry 17 year old who is getting a free meal would probably say that at the time. The service was okay and our server did check in on us from time to time. If you're looking for something quick and cheap, I might recommend this place. We found this restaurant hidden at the very end of an indoor row of shops. We were looking for a place to grab an easy lunch that was not seafood! I had the chicken Philly with green peppers, cheese and mushrooms (held the onions). The bread was so soft and the flavors were good. My son had the Hurricane Burger that bursted with flavors from a fried egg, green peppers, onion, bacon and ham. No complaints from him!!
