Shrimp tacos and sweet potato fries
    Amy Lauren S.

I've been chasing food trucks lately in hopes of trying a few new-to-me trucks, and I caught this one tonight at Craft Conundrum in West Ashley. The menu is pretty extensive on their website, but it also included a few specials and some tacos that I didn't see on the menu. They truly had a lot of options- everything from gator legs to chicken tenders for the kids. They also have po boys, sandwiches, quesadillas, conch fritters, and hot dogs. I had the shrimp tacos with sweet potato fries, which were not on the menu on their website. I eat shrimp tacos a LOT so I can be picky about them. These were full of shrimp- every single bite had shrimp in it. They also come topped with a tartar sauce that has jalapeno and dill. I don't usually eat tartar sauce but this one was great. The sweet potato fries were crispy and also glazed with honey- also my first time having them glazed with honey and it was good. Still not overly sweet and I liked that. For $10, I got 2 tacos and an order of sweet potato fries and left full and happy. It was a great deal for the amount of food I received. If you're into Caribbean food you won't be disappointed in this truck.

    Jerk chicken and creole fries

This place took me right back to the times I visited the Caribbean. I ordered out at home using Uber Eats. I had the jerk chicken with creole fries, shrimp and crab rice, and coconut cake. All was delicious and flavorful. But the stand out was that crab rice that had so much crab meat! And the coconut cake was *HEAVENLY*

This business is not actively accessible for businesses and/or customers. They are not located on Ashley Phosphate and owner is not operating phone. Everything listed here on yelp for operations are incorrect and invalid due to this being a food truck and they are in various locations daily as on MUSC University as of 12/29/22.

    Smiling and full! :)

Traveling for work and was looking for good New Orleans cooking, I found it here…read more I stopped for lunch, got hear right as the doors opened and the place was full by the time we got our drinks, good sign. Service was friendly and attentive, good atmosphere. The food only topped off the good first impression. For appetizers we got gator bites ( seasoning was so good they didn't even need sauce) second was the Andui and shrimp Mac & Cheese (amazing) I could have just eaten these and been satisfied. The shrimp and crayfish porboy was large and tasted so good, man the seasoning on the fries was so good. The batter on the fish was amazing as well. We left with food to spare and already planning on what we will get next time we're in town. And only 15min from the airport. Great job Lola!!

The crawfish was cooked well and had great flavor. The only thing we noticed was they were a bit juicy--we think they may not have soaked in the boil as long, which usually helps absorb more flavor. My husband really enjoyed them (this trip was mostly for him!), but they were a little spicy for me. I ended up getting a Caesar salad with fried crawfish tails instead, and it was huge--I only made it through about half. We also got margaritas during happy hour--both were really good. I had the lychee margarita, and my husband got the mango with a Cajun rim. Service was very good--our waiter was attentive and friendly. The only small downside was that we did feel a little rushed. It does say on the menu that they ask guests not to stay longer than 1.5 hours, so just something to keep in mind. They are pet-friendly, and we sat outside. There was plenty of outdoor seating, and the tables had umbrellas, which was nice. The only other thing we weren't thrilled about was the credit card surcharge--it was around 3-3.5%, which feels a bit high, especially since most people don't carry cash anymore. Overall, a great spot--especially if you're a crawfish fan!

Best seafood boil in North Charleston BY FAR!…read more I had literally the most incredible service . The daiquiri's SLAPPED (I recommend a watermelon daq) and I got a half pound of shrimp, crawfish, and black mussels with the full assortment of sauces and spices). To. Die. For! For real. The vibe is like family, it's fun and vibrant, they have a huge fish tank (like come through aquarium!) and they come prepared with a little throwaway bucket, plastic gloves, and wet wipes. Also thank you to Michael for getting my LIFE together mama. I will come back to charleston literally just for this place.

I was told to seat myself at the bar, I guess because I was by myself, but instead of the bartender taking my order like is normal when you are seated at the bar, a server came by and stood next to me to take my order and explain the menu. I ordered the Weekend Special (it's call that, but you can order it at any time, same for the other specials), hush puppies, and sausage. One thing very different here is they cook the food in a plastic bag with a sauce mixed in, so you pick a sauce at the time of order. Service was fast and friendly. I don't want to get anyone in trouble by going into detail, but some of the people behind the bar were pretty unprofessional. Not to me directly or to customers, but the conversations employees were having should have been done somewhere not in front of customers. Hush puppies were both sweet and savory which I like. Shrimp, potatoes, and crab came out done well. Lobster tail was tough and rubbery. The sausage was fine, tasted like Hillshire Farms or an equivalent which is fairly meh to me but I know lots of folks like that. I really did not care for the food being cooked in the sauce. I had some in Cajun and some in garlic and butter, and it was just too heavy for me. I really just like me seafood bare and dip it in some melted butter and lemon pretty lightly, so having a few cups of sauce in each bag of food was just way too much for my tastes. This is a personal preference thing so I am not knocking stats for it, but I didn't care for this style (plus it was super messy), and I don't want all the extra calories from a sauce. Price was pretty good for the amount of food I had. J.Ja

He ordered crawfish, shrimp, and black mussels with corn and potatoes in the King Claw seasoning. As someone completely new to the experience, he was pleasantly surprised and ended up loving it. I went with two clusters of crab legs and shrimp with extra potatoes and corn in the Cajun seasoning. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The crab legs were easy to crack, the shrimp were cooked just right, and the Cajun seasoning had plenty of flavor without being overwhelming. The extra potatoes were definitely the right call. One thing that really stood out was the service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was fun, casual, and exactly what you'd expect from a seafood boil spot--messy in the best way possible. We skipped appetizers and dessert because the seafood was more than enough, but neither of us left hungry. If you're craving crab legs, shrimp, or a classic seafood boil experience, King Claw Seafood is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back.

For the Tasty Crab Special (1/2 lb shrimp, 1 snow crab cluster, lobster tail, 2 ears of corn, 2 potatoes, 2 eggs) and added 1/2 lb of sausage. It was too much food for me, and I knew it would be but I always want to try everything at these places. I had it Cajun sliced to mild. Food came out fast and service was friendly. The seafood was nicely cooked, even the lobster tail which is often overcooked at these places. The potatoes and corn were overcooked but I don't care too much about that Cajun spice was good. I'm still not the biggest fan of seafood boil, I really prefer steamed, but that is a personal preference. As far as boil goes, this is one of the better ones I have had. Inside it isn't much, but there's some real personality from all of the writing on the walls. But let's be honest you come to one of these places to chow down on seafood while wearing a plastic bin and vinyl gloves, it isn't a place you come to in your Sunday best. I felt the love was on point and fair for the food I got and compared to similar places in the area. J.Ja
