This was my first time trying out Charleston Caribbean Creole. Went here while they were out at the Black Food Truck Festival. I ordered their jerk chicken basket which came with two jerk chicken legs and waffle fries. I enjoyed it, but was hoping for more chicken. It was so delicious. It had the right amount of spice and seasonings. I didn't get to try out anything else on the menu, but definitely plan on following them. The Charleston Caribbean Creole food truck came by our office today; and I was very pleased to see a different truck other than our usual line up visiting the office. I hope they'll be back around again because they were pretty damn good for a food truck. I ordered the Gator Sausage Po Boy and it was delicious; a nice warm bun stuffed with grilled alligator sausage, onions, and peppers topped with spicy mustard. I also got a side of fries, but not really impressed with those since they were not very hot. But I'd love the truck to come back so I can try the shrimp po boy or the jerk chicken plate; they looked awesomely delicious. Overall a pretty solid food truck. read more

I've been chasing food trucks lately in hopes of trying a few new-to-me trucks, and I caught this one tonight at Craft Conundrum in West Ashley. The menu is pretty extensive on their website, but it also included a few specials and some tacos that I didn't see on the menu. They truly had a lot of options- everything from gator legs to chicken tenders for the kids. They also have po boys, sandwiches, quesadillas, conch fritters, and hot dogs. I had the shrimp tacos with sweet potato fries, which were not on the menu on their website. I eat shrimp tacos a LOT so I can be picky about them. These were full of shrimp- every single bite had shrimp in it. They also come topped with a tartar sauce that has jalapeno and dill. I don't usually eat tartar sauce but this one was great. The sweet potato fries were crispy and also glazed with honey- also my first time having them glazed with honey and it was good. Still not overly sweet and I liked that. For $10, I got 2 tacos and an order of sweet potato fries and left full and happy. It was a great deal for the amount of food I received. If you're into Caribbean food you won't be disappointed in this truck. read more

If I had to complain about anything it wouldn't even be a complaint just a suggestion....use a regular size takeout carton because at $21.60 I felt like I only got half of a plate and add 1 more plantain. Other than that the food was delicious and I would support them again!! Oh and allow the rice to cook just a little bit more, mine was a little bit crunchy but I still ate it! YESSSSSIRRRR!!!!!!!!! I love versatility, especially in food trucks. I think they should all be restaurants on wheels. I had jerk chicken with rice and beans. Spicy but so good. I wasn't able to eat my meal until the next day and it was still great. All of their seafood options are top notch. Especially the fried seafood. The tacos are excellent. I co-sign every appetizer. Wherever I see them they have a long long line. And I have never heard a negative word. The guys who serve are down to earth regular everyday cats. I have taken some of their food home to try to copycat and finally gave up. Lol. I still have a ways to go to learn more low country food trucks but I really feel these guys are top five. I am really thinking about having a food truck dinner at least once a month from here on to support the genre. I think I will put the family in the car and this may be our first visit. Their food is so tasty.! It's always fresh and their service is always quick. Hours vary sometime so if you see the open on act fast. It's a small location no seating just grab and go(my favorite). The crab rice is a MUST.! The fish is soooo good.! It's not greasy and the breading is nice and thin and crispy..! Just try them okay.! read more

I am very disappointed - I was expecting much better quality, especially because of how expensive the food was - we paid almost $30 for two meals! I saw the menu before we went to grab dinner from the truck at our community's food truck night. I was so excited - but then we saw that there was a limited menu - nothing on it that I had wanted to try - but I settled and got the shrimp tacos and fries. It was decent - not a lot of shrimp - but it was ok. My husband decided to get the crab rice and added shrimp. It literally was just rice with a couple onions and maybe 3 small pieces of crab. It was $10 for that - I couldn't believe it!! We paid extra for shrimp and I couldn't believe that there were only 4 shrimp on top! I was really looking forward to this dinner and all of the variety on the menu and what I thought would be quality food. I'm just very disappointed. Ridiculous amount of time for sausage and fries at a recent concert. Twenty minutes after my order and money were taken, I finally approached the window with my order number but was wordlessly dismissed by the lady inside the truck. I realize she was busy but it was disappointing that she didn't bother to try to figure out my issue or, at least, get one of other employees to assist me. It wasn't until several minutes later (and missing yet more songs from the performance) that the lady working the register finally realized that my order hadn't been properly delivered to the cooks. The gator sausage was good (although the bun was overwhelming) with peppers and onions and cajun mustard, but not worth the wait. Ultimately, the whole ordeal was a buzzkill. Man oh man oh man!! I love me some fried fish n shrimp, and CCC just nailed it perfectly. We went to their truck at MUSC and tried the fried catfish, fried shrimp and fries ... and were blown away. I've eaten their food twice when they've come to Trident. Both times were outstanding. Their shrimp are big, cooked just right, and that batter is delicious. Was not a huge fan of their rice, but everything else I've tried is great. Can't wait to try more of their food next time they're out there. Also, big shout out to the crew who was out there on 6/25. They had started to shut down early because the hospital employees were all at shift change and they hadn't had any customers in a while. But they decided to serve those of us who trickled out on our way home. I'm sure the three of them were wanting to go home themselves, but they were all very nice about serving us. Stopped by this food truck while the North Charleston 4th of July festival, horrible decision. They serve conch fritters, which is Bahamian dish, so I was very happy to see that here in South Carolina. The problem was the cost, the amount of fritters and the flavor. I received 4 apricot sized fritters for $9. The fritters were the worst I've ever had. They were fried too hard and they were tart. I contacted Chante (event manager) after searching Yelp, etc for food truck options for my lovely wife's 60th birthday party. The entire experience could not have gone better! My neighbors in my golf course community absolutely were stunned by the quality of food, the bright truck, and the attentive and friendly staff! Chante answered my telephone call on me first attempt, was professional, and made many suggestions on menu choices, delivery and plating options, etc. She made a great first impression as I took the adventure of booking a food truck without first visiting the truck personally and All correspondence was by email and telephone. Chef Frisco (chef and owner) is busy attending to his events and leaves all coordination to Chante. The price point for 35+ guests was what I expected ($1500 approx) and includes tax, service fee, plates, gratuity, etc. The truck Chef Frisco, and Chante arrived on time (in fact 15 mins early) and expertly maneuvered the truck in to my backyard area. Set up was prompt and he was entirely self contained. (generator was very quiet and non intrusive. Our menu was: Fried chicken and sweet potato fries, fish and chips, red beans and rice. Dessert: banana pudding and beignets. All food was delicious and one the praises of my guests. Chante remained attentive and communicated with me thru-out the 3 hour event. (in fact: Chante drove several hours from her home to personally manage the event...) Of course even with 2 months of planning, and weeks of no rain, as the dinner service was ready to start the rain started to pour down! Chante approached me and offered to relocate the truck (in mid/final food prep to a more convenient location for our guests: pulling up to park right next to a large tent that we had the foresight to put up!) All left over food was packaged up and provided to us at the end of the event. Chef Frisco is a combat veteran who took the risk of opening this business in 2014. My daughter and son-in-law were married this past Saturday in Charleston. Since this was a destination. wedding, we hosted a welcome party for our out-of-town guests at Gold Bug Island, and Lowcountry Creole food truck handled the catering. When I contacted Chef Frisco in February about the menu, he spent about 45 minutes discussing all the options, and helped my to design a menu that met our needs. I really wanted my guests to have a sampling of Charleston cuisine, and Chef Frisco delivered! The welcome party was held on May 30th and we were so impressed with the professionalism of Chef Frisco and his staff. The food was delicious and plentiful. The apartment complex I live at has "Food Truck Friday's" so you can imagine it's quite disappointing when the food truck never shows up. This is the sad story of Caribbean Creole: The complex booked them in March and they left a message at 10pm the night before saying they will not be there (thankfully we have a great group of LOYAL food trucks that came instead and saved the day)! The apartment gave Caribbean Creole a second chance, booked them for this past Friday, and once again they decided to not show up due to "over-booking." This time the complex didn't get a phone call the night before... I guess they were already sleeping at 10:00pm and simply decided not to show the next day. NOTE TO SELF: If you are looking for dependability or planning an event, DO NOT USE THIS TRUCK! So unprofessional. read more

The chicken was of very low quality, not particularly deliciously prepared and the fries were same. For any price I was expecting something much better, let alone for the gross, paltry dish I paid $11 for after standing in a roasting hot parking lot. Definitely regret this choice. read more

OMG!!!! Ok I was expecting much as the 'other' Caribbean/Creole food truck left a lot to be desired. I went with the Caribbean Combo plate, first off this is a well portioned platter. I thought I would go platter as it allowed me to have Puerto Rican, Cuban and Jamaican dishes at once. Also, if something wasn't 'authentic' I had the other dishes to fall back on. I'm glad I went this route for two reason. All three flavors complimented each other and all three would have stood very well on there own. Thank you Charleston Caribbean Creole you have a fan in me. We discovered this food truck a couple of months ago and have been addicted ever since! I went to college in New Orleans, so I know Creole food, and theirs is really authentic. The food they serve is wonderful, with great variety. Fish, chicken, sides. I especially love the fried shrimp and my husband loves the sweet potato fries. Everything we've had has been outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. Portion sizes are great. They travel all over the city so they're easy to follow.
