    Shrimp boil
    Elaine T.

The best meal I ate on my trip to South Carolina was at the Seafood Pot in Charleston. It's the perfect place to stop for a meal before or after your flight because it's only 4 miles and about 10 minutes from the airport. It's a casual spot in a strip mall, so come as you are and place your order at the counter with the very friendly and professional staff before sitting down wherever there is a seat. I love crawfish and I was thrilled with this huge seafood boil for under $17 with GIGANTIC fresh crawfish, delicious beef sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes. Somehow I managed to eat everything except the potatoes :) The spicy boil was perfectly seasoned and I would have drunk it as a beverage if it hadn't been so rich. I had read so many good reviews of their gumbo that I had to order it and compare it to the other versions I love in Los Angeles and New Orleans. The chicken, shrimp, beef sausage, okra, and roux version was less than $11 and a hearty hefty serving with very nice spice blend. The gumbo was a bit thin, and the shrimp were a bit small, but for the price and flavor, this was a definite winner. The shrimp version of the seafood boil was equally delicious, again for under $17, the shrimp were plump, juicy, and perfectly cooked with all the same beef sausage, corn on the cob and potatoes included in the crawfish boil. I was thinking of taking some of the food on the plane when I ate there on the way to airport for my flight back home, but I was so starved for great food after my sojourn that I literally ate everything before boarding my flight! If I ever go to Charleston again, the Seafood Pot will be my first stop after a flight and before a flight!

    Absolutely delightful gumbo

All it took was one bite and I was hooked on their gumbo. The soup flavor is well made. It's not too rich, not too salty, not bland, just perfect. The shrimp texture was so nice .. soft to bite but not too overcooked. I absolutely detest rubbery shrimp and I was relieved that their shrimp was cooked wonderfully. I stopped in for a quick bite and wish I had more time to enjoy their many other options. I'm happy about my order though! The pictures don't do this gumbo any justice.

Ordered the crab legs with sausage, and it came with corn & potatoes. It was good and the service didn't take long. The inside isn't extremely large, but there are a tables to dine in. Most people get their meals to go. The guy behind the counter that took my order was neither nice nor rude. He just was.

I could see myself coming back for more crawfish! This crawfish was boiled in a unique sweet and spicy base. The size of the crawfish was a bit underwhelming and they were cooked to be a bit soft. Although the size wasn't enough for a feast, it was a fantastic weekday lunch. Price was right. It filled my needs for a local sea food boil spot!

Today me my grandma and my parents all stopped at the seafood pot. I got 3 piece chicken tender with fries it was good it also came out hot! The service was good. Also you had to get bottled items there was no fountain. The Ambiance was not what I was looking for. I wanted to see the southern Charleston vibe but I just didn't quite get it. There was no bathroom that the eyes could see and the room was small but there was sections covered with curtain. Overall I might stop again. Price:$$ Ambiance:3 Food:4 Service:4 Sorry you can't see the curtained part/cash register in the picture

Took the family here because most of us enjoy seafood. If you're into crab, lobster, shrimp, this place is pretty phenomenal with the seasoning being a mild to moderate spicy, depending on what you're used to. Whether you do takeout or sit down, the amount is very good for the price And clearly the owner is vested in providing good service. It's not the fanciest environment, but the best places usually are not. We were all pleased.

I stopped in because I had a break in my schedule and I'm so happy I did!!!! As I watched so many delicious dishes go past, I KNOW I will be back! Today, I got the seafood gumbo and I can never seem to find what I'm craving! Today, I did! It totally met my cravings... and there was so much in the large bowl that I had to take some home! If your nearby you definitely need to make this a stop!!! Sooooo yummy!!

What a great meal!! I found this gem on Yelp on a "seafood dinner" while staying near airport. The guy at the counter helped me decide what to order with consideration that I was rolling solo for dInner. I had it in my head to order a big bowl of gumbo and I also got the Daily Special which was a seafood boil serve in a plastic boat with both shrimp and crawfish. They first served the boil with only shrimp but then brought me an entire bowl of crawfish to top it off!! (Not pictured). This meal was just the right portion size and both the staff and customers were very friendly. I ate every drop of what was served to me and walked out completely fulfilled and stuffed to the gills!! I will definitely recommend this place to my colleagues and make this a mainstay in my Charleston collection. Thanks!!

My family and i went to this restaurant expecting a regular seafood boil, but we were left slightly disappointed. We ordered the lowcountry boil without mussels and an assorted fried seafood plate. We did not receive a choice if sauce or any gloves, but did receive one crab cracker tool. There were also styrofoam plates. I ordered two large orders of rice as well, in total it came to about 88 dollars before tip. Everything is ordered at the front counter, they do not have waiters, and only canned beverages or water bottles are available as drinks. The cashier was a very young boy. The man who i assumed to be the chef recommended us the lowcountry boil. The seafood had decent flavor, but had a pretty standard garlic butter flavor and there was nothing very remarkable about it. The portions were a little smaller than expected, given it was a 36-40 dollar plate of seafood. The rice was dry and they poured butter over the rice which i didn't mind, but did not make it taste very good. I would recommend this place for someone who wants seafood to go, because my dine in experience was a little less than ideal for a seafood boil restaurant. Then again, there are some better options for takeout seafood restaurants. The interior had a few tables, and was clean, but I would go elsewhere if you are looking for a dine-in restaurant.

Traveling for work and was looking for good New Orleans cooking, I found it here…read more I stopped for lunch, got hear right as the doors opened and the place was full by the time we got our drinks, good sign. Service was friendly and attentive, good atmosphere. The food only topped off the good first impression. For appetizers we got gator bites ( seasoning was so good they didn't even need sauce) second was the Andui and shrimp Mac & Cheese (amazing) I could have just eaten these and been satisfied. The shrimp and crayfish porboy was large and tasted so good, man the seasoning on the fries was so good. The batter on the fish was amazing as well. We left with food to spare and already planning on what we will get next time we're in town. And only 15min from the airport. Great job Lola!!

The crawfish was cooked well and had great flavor. The only thing we noticed was they were a bit juicy--we think they may not have soaked in the boil as long, which usually helps absorb more flavor. My husband really enjoyed them (this trip was mostly for him!), but they were a little spicy for me. I ended up getting a Caesar salad with fried crawfish tails instead, and it was huge--I only made it through about half. We also got margaritas during happy hour--both were really good. I had the lychee margarita, and my husband got the mango with a Cajun rim. Service was very good--our waiter was attentive and friendly. The only small downside was that we did feel a little rushed. It does say on the menu that they ask guests not to stay longer than 1.5 hours, so just something to keep in mind. They are pet-friendly, and we sat outside. There was plenty of outdoor seating, and the tables had umbrellas, which was nice. The only other thing we weren't thrilled about was the credit card surcharge--it was around 3-3.5%, which feels a bit high, especially since most people don't carry cash anymore. Overall, a great spot--especially if you're a crawfish fan!

Best seafood boil in North Charleston BY FAR!…read more I had literally the most incredible service . I was told to seat myself at the bar, I guess because I was by myself, but instead of the bartender taking my order like is normal when you are seated at the bar, a server came by and stood next to me to take my order and explain the menu. I ordered the Weekend Special (it's call that, but you can order it at any time, same for the other specials), hush puppies, and sausage. One thing very different here is they cook the food in a plastic bag with a sauce mixed in, so you pick a sauce at the time of order. Service was fast and friendly. I don't want to get anyone in trouble by going into detail, but some of the people behind the bar were pretty unprofessional. Not to me directly or to customers, but the conversations employees were having should have been done somewhere not in front of customers. Hush puppies were both sweet and savory which I like. Shrimp, potatoes, and crab came out done well. Lobster tail was tough and rubbery. The sausage was fine, tasted like Hillshire Farms or an equivalent which is fairly meh to me but I know lots of folks like that. I really did not care for the food being cooked in the sauce. I had some in Cajun and some in garlic and butter, and it was just too heavy for me. I really just like me seafood bare and dip it in some melted butter and lemon pretty lightly, so having a few cups of sauce in each bag of food was just way too much for my tastes. This is a personal preference thing so I am not knocking stats for it, but I didn't care for this style (plus it was super messy), and I don't want all the extra calories from a sauce. Price was pretty good for the amount of food I had. J.Ja
