This will probably be a lengthy review, but my hope is to fairly evaluate Caribbean Waves Pool Construction to (1) contribute to the Yelp community which is always helpful for my decision making & to (2) advocate for CW given their exceptional work. I'll keep this review to five parts that I think most of us find important: cost, schedule, communication, support, quality. Background: My family purchased a home that had a beautiful pool. But given it was from the '60s, it needed work... new plumbing, new surface, new heater, (and we wanted it shallower). Cost: Given the massive amount of work I had 4 companies quote the job. CW was by far the best price. It actually made me a little reluctant to go with them, but given they have a pool license & seeing their previous work, I was just pleased to find a solid vendor with an excellent price. Schedule: From quoting, to completing tasks, Walter & Carlos are always on time. They make their appointments, start work at 7am, and work hard all day. We only had pauses for rain, Christmas, and New Years. Otherwise they worked continuously without any time off. I really appreciated this. Communication: Walter is on it. I text him, I get replies. Never condescending, always prompt. He keeps you informed, communicates work done & upcoming tasks. And when there's an issue (like me not knowing which way to switch all these knobs), he patiently explains the process and even sends photos. Thanks Walter... I promise I'm not an idiot Support: This is still TBD. I'll update this post if support gets bad. I don't expect I'll have any issues. The small things that I needed help with (priming the pump, adjusting eyes, changing settings) Walter provided support for. I truly believe I'll have support without any issue. We recently had all of the tile replaced, the lights changed out, and our pool and spa replastered by Caribbean Waves Pools and Spas, Inc. We interviewed three separate pool contractors for the job and chose this company primarily because of the owners' commitment to quality and their open communication with us every step of the way. When I called to request a bid for our project, one of the owners (Walter Castillo) answered the phone and agreed to come out the following week. When Walter arrived, I went over what we wanted done and he agreed to put together a proposal and submit it back to us. I was looking for a contractor to remodel my pool (tile, plaster, skimmer, etc) and called a few companies to see what the going rate was for this type of work. Walter was the most helpful of contractors, even after I let him know that I wasn't going to use him. His price was competitive and he answered every question and explained the entire process from start to finish. He even purchased a mosaic for me from the tile store and sold it to me at cost. We initially reached out to the owner, Wally for a quote to re-plaster our pool with mini-pebbles. When we purchased our home, the pool had white plaster that was graying in patches all over and had calcified tiles. This gave the pool a dirty appearance no matter how much we cleaned it.
