We booked this 6 months out and were most excited for this vendor. Tiki had an impressive body of work and we were impressed. In the months leading up to the party Tiki was very responsive. When reaching out to confirm how I can make the final payment he casually said Ken will be able to accept it. I asked who Ken was and he informed me that he was sorry for the mix up and he's mostly retired and Ken his son takes his gigs now. This was disappointing to hear, but two days out we tried to make the best of it. Tiki apologized and drew a photo of the birthday boy remotely to make up for it which we appreciated. On the day of Ken was very nice, showed up on time. He forgot a power strip, but fortunately the venue had one. Not sure what the work around would have been if they did not. He set up and got to work. Right away we noticed it took much longer per photo than expected. Most folks including us sat for 10-15 minutes. Much longer than the expected 3-5 minutes. A couple of days after the party we received the digital gallery link from Ken, and unfortunately for the whole party with a constant wait, only 11 people got pictures. Additionally when looking at how Digitoons sets up in Yelp reviews, they put up a sign or banner advertising it. Unfortunately they did not for this, so it got around by word of mouth really. In the end it was a fun addition to the party, but felt a little like a like a bait and switch. We booked based on the quality of work that Tiki provided and while Ken is a very nice guy his art isn't up to par with his Dad. The Digitoons website in its entirety speaks about Tiki, not once does it mention anything else. I don't think they intentionally tried to bamboozle us, they seem like great people. We just didn't get what we paid for and only found out a few days before the party. Tiki informed me that his rate would have been much higher for himself, but that's not what's advertised on his site.

I have gone to or hosted 6 or 7 parties now, and each one is better than the last. I appreciate that they bring all the painting supplies with them, and that while we all paint the same thing, each painting is unique. For the parties I have hosted, I have imagined and talked through design ideas and had them come to life on my canvas. I am NOT an artist in my mind, but through the instruction from Tammy and her amazing staff, I always leave a Mai Tais and Monet party feeling like one!

Andrea was patient, encouraging and broke it down so that pretty much could create something to be proud - or at least not embarrassed of. I enjoyed this painting night so much that I decided to book Andrea for my upcoming Birthday party. For $30 a person with a party over 10, it was well worth it. She showed up on time - 30 minutes prior to the start time to set up, and like the event at Kona, provided us with simple, step by step instructions to create a masterpiece of choice. I pre-selected a theme and she provided us with a few options so that we could personalize our paintings. Overall, it was a great night and Andrea was again a patient and awesome instructor. Before there used to be a lot of shops who made them but now there are only a few on the island. Surprisingly the one place I was able to find it for a wedding gift was a tattoo shop. The communication between the owners and me was excellent. I was able to tell him exactly what I wanted, he made five different variations of what I was looking for and worked around what I thought looked the best. The turn around was a week but it was well worth the wait. I could've maybe found something in Etsy for cheaper or just bought something from the ABC Store for a gift but a gift that is unique, made by a local artist and you can authentically say I got this from Hawaii is what I think made me decide to go with them and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for omiyage or a gift from Hawaii go to A Rainbow Studio. They will help wrap it up with bubble wrap if you're not a local or are going somewhere.

He worked roughly 20 minutes on her hand. Super impressed! They have a variety of books to fit your budget and style. Panama also thoroughly explained what she needed to do to preserve the artwork. What was worst, was that our guest at our event were complaining about her. I felt so bad! First off, she wanted payment in full without providing a written contract. She later provided one after requesting for one. Second, she showed up late with no explanation. Third, she was NOT pleasant nor approachable to our guest (a couple of our guest were mentioning how rude she was). To top that off, several guest reported that they needed to tip her if they wanted a specific ink used. Plus, she just left without saying anything and did not stay for the contracted 3 hours. All the kids got there face painted and even adult was asking if they could get theirs too but we ran out of our booked time and she had another party to go to right after. She charges about $350 for 2 hours which may seem kinda pricey but it is full face detailed & beautiful work so thats probably why. she gets booked up so plan accordingly if you wanted more then 2 hours. We had maybe about 15-18 kids Face painted in 2 hours. I would highly recommend and would book her again. If you have a big party more then 20 faces to paint I suggest you hire a couple face paint artist or hire for more then 2 hours. Make sure there is adequate shade for the artist. I had a 20x30 tent with alot of room and thought that be good enough but the sun was moving in on her work area towards end time. Provide vegan snacks/food/dessert if possible as Kelani is vegan and we love to support healthy life styles. Overall a great party activity.
