Carina's is the nicest sit-down Italian restaurant in Lords Valley. They have a great beer and wine selection. I love their brick oven pizza, particularly the white pizza with broccoli. I've also had a few of their Italian dishes and always enjoyed them. Some folks complain about the price, but I think it's quite reasonable for the quality of food, atmosphere and service. They are currently on a reduced schedule while they hire and train new staff. Staffing in Lords Valley is always challenging. read more

I love this spot! The pizza is great, and so are the salads. I pop in about once every 2 weeks or so to buy their single origin coffee. The owner and I chatted about coffee, and he was kind enough to allow me a sample and nickel tour of his wealth of knowledge about the coffees he offers. They'll even grind the coffee or you. We always loved this restaurant for good italian comfort food. however, they must have a new chef this year. I ordered one of my favorites, the chicken marsala and the sauce just wasn't right. Last night I had the eggplant parmasian and the eggplant was too bready and there was little sauce. What sauce there was on the pasta was watery. it has been very disappointing but I am hoping the restaurant will turn around. Service was great. read more

Second Review - First was on receiving a Veal Parm on a Kaiser roll (most commonly used for Ham & Eggs). If you don't have hero rolls, say so and let the customer decided whether or not they want to continue their order. In my case it would have definitely been a no! Review on most recent order. Chicken Marsala....It was tan sauce of some kind but not Marsala. This I know. Solution....Vett the person you are considering to hire as a Chef. If the applicant thinks that it's ok to use a Kaiser roll and doesn't put out a decent Marsala sauce.....then move on to the next candidate. Done with Carini's except, maybe, for pizza. read more

Stop burning the pizza if you want more stars! Burnt wheat pizza with a crust that was so inedible. $14 for a personal pie with very little sausage and very little broccoli on it. They have a specialty Sausage and Broccoli Rabe Pizza, but don't ask them to put that on a wheat pizza, they wont do it. They also on the hottest day of the week will not turn on the air conditioning. Causing us to have 3 unsweetened ice tea each. The gluten free pasta was overcooked, the Scampi sauce lacked garlic, and the shrimp was overdone. Hmm... I usually get pizza but we tried a couple of pasta dishes. My step son tried the spaghetti and meatballs and I got the clams in white wine sauce. The spaghetti with meat balls was the better dish by a huge margin. It seriously lacked any flavor and you could actually see the pieces of bread in the meatballs. It tasted as though they watered down some marinara out of a can added a couple dashes of basil and parsley and called it day. I can't even begin to tell you what they did with the clams and white wine sauce. I love garlic. Seriously, I use tons of garlic in my dishes. This dish however tasted like they used half a jar of pre-chopped garlic and nothing else. Even the clams were tasteless. Everything I tasted was crappy pre-chopped garlic favor. Pizza boxes are B E A-utiful. Unfortunately we didn't get our ranch. Tasty ny style wood fired pizza and naked wings. Very Impressed! Working a few days a week in the Lords Valley area I wasn't expecting much when it came time for dinner. I happened upon this place and couldn't wait to get back for more. The place is casual with a very minimalist interior design, and as long as your not looking for a beautiful atmosphere the place is charming enough. A big counter greats you with the brick oven set behind it. The pizza making magic is in full view for the customer. Watching them make it just makes you hungry! So far I've had white pizza, peperoni pizza and a chicken parmesan sandwich. The pizza crust is NY style- think and crispy. Easily fold-able with a great crust. Plenty of flavor baked in and flavorful until the last bite. The cheese seems to be of premium variety, without too much grease and melted to perfection. The sauce is robust, seasoning well rounded and not too tangy. Sweet enough to remove the bitterness sometime associated with the tomato. Toppings are well executed and evenly distributed throughout the slice. Overall very enjoyable. The chicken parm sandwich was delicious. A big sandwich served on a toasted Italian long roll. The chickened was well seasoned and the breading was of nice texture. A nice combination of sauce and mozzarella cheese. It made for a great dinner and made we want to try other sandwiches. As you could tell I will defiantly frequent this place again and have enjoyed my experiences there. They really seem to know what their doing and present things better than places I have been in "the city". While I was there on a Friday night there were one or two tables sitting for dinner while many customers came in and out for pick- up. The pizza making never stopped in the 20 minutes I was there. The best old world pies around. Thin crust and great ingredients. Thier veal parm dinners are a nice piece of veal not super thin slices with a lot breadibg like the other pizzeria in the area. First visit to a local restaurant near our home to be. The food was very good and we will visit again for that reason and the proximity. Our waiter however appeared to be a stoner! Stopped by while on vacation in the area any really enjoyed it. The service was a bit slow considering the restaurant wasn't that busy, but the food more than made up for it. I had the chicken alla vodka which was very tasty and a large portion while my wife had the linguine bolognese (and took almost half of it home.) The eggplant rollatini was met with a big thumbs up also and the pizzas at other tables looked incredibly good as well. We will definitely be coming back when we're in the area again. So very pleased with this lovely restaurant. We had a wonderful, early dinner; I was so very impressed with the menu and my expectations were met gracefully by our meal. I ordered a stromboli for dinner and when it came out it was loaded with olives, onions and mushrooms, which I am allergic to. I informed the waitress of my mushroom allergy and she said she would tell the cook. She came back an informed me that the cook refused to make another one without mushrooms but I could order something else. I then ordered a pizza but after 15 minutes the waitress came back and said the cook refused to make that as well because he felt "disrespected'. I paid for my wifes dinner and left hungry. The only description of my meal on the menu was the word "stromboli". I have never been served one with mushrooms before and I was amazed the pizza cook would take such offense to an allergy I was born with. We won't ever go back! read more

Honestly wasn't impressed. Beautiful restaurant inside and out, with really nice staff. But the pizza was only okay. I ordered a large meatball pie. The slices are TINY. The crust was overdone, with burn spots all over the bottom of the pie. Which ruins a pizza, in my opinion. I feel really bad leaving only 3 stars when the staff is so friendly and service is great. Awful pizza. Owner is nasty and RUDE! I've walked in, not been greeted or acknowledged in any way, and not thanked for my business! Nothing was said to me!
