He then proceeded to do something that feels like a lost art these days: he actually talked to me. A few minutes later, the guy making the pizza joined the conversation too. In the span of a 10-minute wait, we talked about college, sports, music, and pizza. It was such a nice change from the usual "face in the phone" experience you get in so many places now, where customer interaction feels like an afterthought.
