Nice bright and clean pizzeria with a separate dining room in the rear of the restaurant. Owner is a very friendly and has a outgoing personality. He mans the pizza oven and personally greets all the guests that are coming in the door. Great menu and they also have nightly specials and I picked an appetizer special off that special menu. Started with their calamari and scungilli special. The owner also dropped some just out of the oven garlic rolls with olive oil. and for the entree I picked the linguine and white clams sauce. The rolls were delicious and the appetizer also delicious, the calamari rings were sliced thick but was cooked tender. The scungilli was also very tender. My linguine with white clam sauce arrived me with approximately 10 little neck clams in a delicious white wine clam sauce. If the pasta wasn't so over cooked, I prefer the aldente texture. Which I'll request for next visit, hopefully they can accommodate me. All in all this is 1 of the best Italian restaurants I've found in central NJ. Great job!!! read more

This place is on point!!!! The food is delicious and the portions sizes is perfect! The bread came with flavorful olive oil, I wanted it to be my meal for the night . My sausage pizza was perfectly spiced and the was plenty of meat and grilled onions on top. The sausage pizza is a must have at this restaurant! Blooming onion was okay, but next time we'll get the onion rings. The breading wasn't as crispy as I expected. The service was perfect and friendly Owner and staff! The place is a lot bigger than it looks. It has a private dining area for parties and plenty of seating. This place is BYOB, so my wife and I brought our own wine. I went to this place with my husband and friends last night and can't believe I haven't heard anything about this place. The food was delicious. The prices were very reasonable, the portions were large, and the staff was great! Don't know how I've missed this restaurant before. The location is not very noticeable from the street so that might be why. We will definitely be going back regularly now that we've found it. read more

Dinner last night was absolutely delicious. My scallops were cooked perfectly as was the risotto. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the portions were so generous that we all did take home containers. We had a wonderful server who was pleasant and so nice to talk to and as always, Tommy D was the most gracious host. Definitely a favorite spot of ours! read more

Food is good. Service needs help. Multiple times the server has seated us and forgotten to give us menus. And I mean waiting 15 minutes for menus. If sitting in the back you might be forgotten. If sitting in the front, they still forget things even when it's not busy. I'd like to return for sit down but it's frustrating asking for menus and drinks multiple times. read more

Let me start by saying, my wife and I rarely dine out in New Jersey. We only dine out when I've decided I'm not cooking dinner. Which isn't often. I looked through available options for a pleasant diner with a nice BYOB. I checked several restaurants with YELP and decided Carlucci's Bisto's menu looked interesting. I haven't had a good ribeye steak Diane since I left California. We arrived at 7:15 and walked into a deli atmosphere. Waitress asked if would like to seated in the main dining room and we said, please. Little did we know the acoustics were so bad. Walls ceiling and floor appear to be concrete with a noise level of over 100DBs. There was a birthday party of 9 which comprised of the obnoxious sound. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. However, the menu was not the same as online which they update weekly. So hence, NO RIBEYE STEAK DIANE. Server said We could have most anything on last weeks special menu because their was some of it remaining. Owner said throw it out Wednesday but the cook decided to keep it through Thursday. I instead had the "tour of Italy", 2 ravioli, 2 meatballs and lasagna. Quite frankly, my granddaughter could have prepared better. My wife ask for linguini and clams in the wine sauce. The linguini was cooked well but the clams were canned. Who serves canned clams in a restaurant? I will not mention the Caesar salad. In conclusion, let me say New Jersey Italians all think they excellent chefs for Italian cuisine. They are no better than their neighbor. They all think it's epic, like Hawaiians like Poi and Australians like Vegemite. read more

First time for dinner and it was amazing. Great service and the owner came around to check on our meal. My wife had the vegetable lasagna, my son had the margarita pizza and I had the Joey Steak special, which was grilled to perfection and melted in my mouth. Desert was the final ending to a perfect meal with my family. A definite return night out in the near future. read more

Three of us recently had a wonderful opportunity to dine at Carlucci's for our first time. First and foremost, the staff members were wonderful: from the welcoming owner to the friendly and attentive wait staff, everyone was attentive and lovely. High praise! Our food was really good : appetizers included eggplant rollatini and garlic knots. They were great. Cavatappi Pollo was delicious! Tour of Italy was very good, and ravioli was delicious! The food is excellent. We've never had a bad meal. We are there almost weekly. I'm not a seafood fan but they have plenty menu selections. We used Carlucci's's for a few catering events. This new place is a find. There was a great assortment of entrees and appetizers on the menu and we were pleasantly surprised that one was as good as the next! They offer large and delicious portions at a fair price. Their servers were very accommodating to our last minute party of 11 and willingly set us up in their separate side restaurant room. We had four toddlers with us (one on the spectrum) and they made it work for us by making the dietary changes needed and served the kiddos first! They gave our family a memorable PreEaster lunch! We just moved into the area and found Carlucc's. From the minute we walked in, everyone was so friendly. We sat and ordered and ordered wine, didn't realize it was bring your own but the waitress told us where we could purchase some wine right down the road. The appetizers we had meatballs which are made from scratch and delicious and fried calamari. For entrees my son had spaghetti and meatballs, my other son had rigatoni bolognese. My husband had a special of white rice with grilled chicken and zucchini in a fra diavolo sauce and I had another special of spaghetti with artichokes, broccoli rabe and cannelloni beans in garlic and oil. And with helping us choose a dessert option. Food came in good portions and was filling and delicious. Didn't feel weighed down at all by the food. Got the zeppolis for dessert and it comes with cannoli cream for dipping which was delicious. Interior is also very nice and it's BYOB. The only good thing about this restaurant was the staff; you couldn't ask for a more pleasant staff. The food - flavor, quality, portion size, presentation - are the reason for 1 star review. Personally, I dont find overly-large portions attractive - I'd rather quality over quantity. The flavoring in the bruschetta was good, however, it was obvious by the grey-brown color of the tomatoes that it was old. The flavor of the bruschetta was ruined by too cold temperatures. Dont believe me? Google "science explains why you shouldn't put tomatoes in the fridge". Cooling tomatoes below 54 degrees stops them from making some of the substances that contribute to their taste - most refrigerators have temps at or below 40. Make your bruschetta daily and store it on the counter; serve room temperature on grilled bread rubbed with garlic. We would have loved to taste this at room temperature the day it was made. No need for the pile of shredded lettuce on the plate as it only made the bread soft & soggy. The calamari was lightly breaded and was tasty while it was hot; it was fishey once it started to cool. It appeared to be not fresh calamari and there were no tentacles which was a disappointment. Calamari was served on shredded lettuce which just makes the fried food soggy. The red sauce wasn't memorable. The ceasar salad which was supposed to finish our meal had a dressing that was so overpowering it was not edible. There was no shredded parmesan on the salad. The croutons were not fresh made. And ceasar salad is not usually made with chopped lettuce. This dish needs an update. No wine was available, its BYOB. read more

This is a cute new little Italian spot. When we went they had just opened, and but everything seemed to be running smoothly. They were very gracious when we asked for a table that would accommodate one person in our party who was in a wheelchair. The bread was delicious, and we almost ate too much of it before our entrees came out. They had a great option to build your own calzone or pasta dish, and are very good about substitutions or additions. Everyone at our table was pleased with our meals. Portions were large, but we were more than happy to take some of it home. All in all, I would definitely come back here to try their pizza or have dinner again! read more

3/31/2023 Carlucci's recently reopened in a new spot, a short distance from where they were, at The Farm. The new location is a very nice with plenty of room for dining or hosting an event. Last night we were invited to go out to dinner with my in-laws and we decided to go to Carlucci's. Since we live in Northern NJ we don't always drive out of our way to eat. We have plenty of very good restaurants in our area so another Italian Restaurant is no big deal. I can honestly say I was so glad we went to Carlucci's because the food and the serving sizes were the best I have had in a long time. It is a very quaint place and is a BYOB. Absolutely awesome!!! My first visit and I will definitely be back. I had the eggplant rollatini which comes with pasta but I was able to substitute a fresh vegetable. I chose broccoli rabe, which was very good. My husband had eggplant Parmesan which was done to perfection with a side of sausage (also good). My brother had lasagna which I had a taste of ( I will be ordering this next time) and my sister in law had the chicken tortellini which was loaded with chicken and very delicious.
