I was pleasantly surprised by Pezzo Pizza! We stopped in for a quick slice and shared a buffalo chicken and a loaded slice. The crust was super crispy, which I think is hard to achieve on slices like ours, with lots of toppings and sauces. The slices were loaded with meat and everything was so tasty. The inside is so unassuming, but I appreciated the old-school, nostalgic Italian decor. The service was super patient in helping us decide and had no problem with us staying at the table for a bit to feed our baby. After receiving the wrong order...cavatelli and broccoli in red sauce (have you ever heard of such a disgusting thing), I was told it was my fault that I didn't specify white sauce???? We were in the area and thought we would try this place based on all the raving reviews but hate to say we were disappointed. We didn't get a friendly vibe from the second we walked in. Not sure what happened but it was obvious that we were the only Asian patrons there and there was a lot of uncomfortable stares. The young girl working behind the counter was extremely cold tending to us. We ordered enough food for about 6 people, including a chicken Stromboli, garlic knots, 2 mushroom slices, 2 vegetable slices and 1 plain slice. Surprisingly she stuffed everything into one single box. Shouldn't the garlic knots at least be in a separate container? Now onto the food, the garlic knots were good. Greasy and garlicky just like how it should be. The chicken Stromboli was horrible. Chicken was incredibly dry and lacked in flavor. The plain slice and the vegetable slices were decent but the mushroom slices were way too salty. Overall, I would not ever be back to this place even if I was in the area. read more

This was our first time to prezzo. The dinning room was clean, staff was very friendly and courteous and efficient. It was crowded on a Monday at 6:30 both in the dinning room and for takeout. Eggplant parm was good, I liked that it wasn't heavily breaded and oily. The portion was large, definitely had leftovers! Chicken saltimbocca was huge and had prosciutto, spinach and cheese. The tortellini dish had good flavor but was dripping with sauce, more like tortellini in a creamy soup! Def worth trying for an easy dinner that tastes good and won't break the bank. read more

This is a great local pizzeria. About a dozen tables and booths, with table service plus counter service and to-go. The counter features a delectable display of pizzas, sausage rolls and stromboli. The veggie pizza looked like the standout, brimming with a colorful array of vegetables. We opted for table service. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich, my colleague had a stromboli. The chicken parm was excellent. 4 thinly pounded filets breaded and fried golden brown, covered with melted cheese and slathered with sweet tomato sauce. The bread was fresh and crusty. About as good a chicken parm as you could ask for. The stromboli was also excellent. About a 9"-er. Freshly made, perfect crunch on the outside, oozing with cheese on the inside. And a cup of that sauce for dipping. Yum! At lunchtime there is a steady flow of locals, so you know this place is good. If you're looking for a stereotypical NJ pizza joint - this is it! TBH, because this was my wife's favorite local pizza, we've only had pizza from here. I am a pizza and bagel utter stuck up snob. Being born and raised in the tri-state area I know pizza and bagels. Whereas Pezzo II isn't the among the top pizzas in the nation, it is really good neighborhood pizza. I haven't tried any of the local folks so I can't say how this compares, but my wife has, so this is our place. There is something I have to get off my chest. I've read other reviewers say that the staff was rude. I have been to this place a lot. I have no clue what these nay-sayers are talking about. The pizza guys and the counter help have been nothing but nice and pleasant... Even funny. So, I have to wonder about these characters who criticize the staff. First thought- What are they talking about? Second thought- Some people have a chip on their shoulders to begin with. One reviewer equated her treatment with her being Asian. ASIAN? REALLY? I'm a minority, too and Pezzo has been nothing but nice to me. This reviewer- Lily T. (Elite 22) has issues and owes these wonderful people an apology. Back to Pizza: I used to live near Trenton, so I know the great pizzas in the area, DeLorenzo's, Conte's (Princeton), so many. They're great pizzas. The service was good- the person who helped ring my order up at the register was ok. There wasn't much people in the kitchen. The restaurant ambiance was decent with tables and decorations.
