We stopped for late breakfast after church. They were buzzing busy. Took a bit to get seated. Everyone is very nice and cordial. Offered us to sit at counter but nah. We opted to wait on a table seating. We got a table and got seated by the front window, boy it was so hot and uncomfortable could not enjoy the breakfast. This area appears to be an add on after thought hence no air circulating here in this area. No fans. It was smoldering hot. While service was decent. We had to ask for coffee refills. Was difficult to enjoy our late breakfast. I wanted out of there so bad. In addition, There were so many annoying flies up by our window too. Yuck...Really bothered me. The place is popular, prices are ok, the staff is nice, but seating is limited. They need to cover windows with shade or add more air circulation towards the front tables. I ordered corn beef hash breakfast plate which was dry and overcooked. Pancakes are fluffy and good,though. read more

This is our final attempt to enjoy a breakfast at Cari's. The older gentleman who is the host was extremely rude, and usually is, but after he told us to seat yourself on the patio, we sat there 15 minutes waiting to be greeted by wait staff and receive a menu... And they walked right past us multiple times and never even acknowledged that we were there. We have lived in Granbury since 2007, and we used to go to Cari's every weekend, but the last few years, we always felt rushed to hurry up and eat and get out so they could seat somebody else... This is our Sunday morning hangout. Love the people and the good food. They have a great variety of items to choose from and offer gluten fee toast and pancakes. I'm going to try the pancakes this am so we shall see. They do have sourdough bread which is ok for some of us gluten intolerant to eat and make these into French toast-delicious! I do have a suggestion for management, make a sourdough base Cinnamon roll pleeeease. They look so good and I would love to have one but only if it can be sourdough *update on the GF pancakes- they are standard fare grainy and little sweet. I would skip them and go for sourdough bread. read more

Ok, I understand one time you were rude, but twice? Took my mom there on easter. Sign said you were open, we made it before they closed. All of a sudden an angry and rude man (im assuming owner or manager) came out of the side door and YELLED that they weren't taking anymore customers. Rude! Ok, I let that go, maybe stressed or something. Went back again and got the same treatment 2 weeks later! I guess they don't want our business, so I'm done. Once, I get it, but twice? Maybe you shouldn't be in the restaurant business, it might be too stressful for you. You need to find another business, this isn't for you. Seriously. If you like the world's most bland chicken fried steak, uninformed waitresses that won't quit talking, or having your call in advance reserved food sold out from underneath you....feel free to visit this overpriced heap of crap. This is a wonderful breakfast place: very friendly and clean, portions are generous, great variety and good value. I had the turkey omelette- with pumpkin pancakes: enough for 2! My husband had the Grandbury- was more than we could eat! We will come another time when visiting ! read more

We tried this place for the first time today after noticing how packed it is for breakfast every time we drove by. I give it 5 stars because it perfectly fills the need for an affordable breakfast option. The food is consistently great (from seeing the satisfied expressions on all the other tables) and the prices are decent. The manager or owner appears to be hands on, helping to clean table tops, and asking for feedback. The customer service is stellar with everyone chipping in for everything. My hubby's coffee was kept topped off. Portion sizes aren't crazy. "Just right" is how I would describe portion sizes. read more

Upon entering the restaurant on a busy Sunday morning my family and I were greeted with happy smiling faces. The seating is first come first serve. We found a table immediately and the waitress was a young lady who was very cheerful and helpful. She took our drink orders and came back quickly to take our food order. Prices were very reasonable. Jesus Christ! No, literally, Jesus Christ is all over this place. It's....weird. Well, kind of weird to me at least. I'll start with this: The folks were very friendly, the food was good, and the portion to price ratio was acceptable. Pretty much all you can ask from a restaurant. However, I'm surprised that I didn't see any mention of being bombarded with a mountain of religious stuff while eating there. I understand this is a privately owned business free to express their beliefs openly, I'm just not sure why they would lay it on so thick. It's a small Texas town so it's not like they're running off much of their customer base, I suppose. I have many Christian friends that would get a laugh at this place though. Just viewable from our table: A rack of Christain themed t-shirts (ie, real men love jesus) Ten Commandments plaque next to the front door Bible reference on the sign with the restaurant's name over the door Church flyer on the door A large whiteboard on the wall near the door with a bible passage hand-written on it Two signs on the counter near the register referencing god/prayer Every single waitress in the place had a religiously themed shirt There was another whiteboard behind the counter with another religious message on it I counted twelve different religious signs on the western wall. twelve! I'm not bashing the place for their beliefs, but it was like eating in a church that has an overzealous decorator. And this was the middle of the day on a Monday so it wasn't like they were pandering to the after-church crowd. Strange. I think we can all admit it's hard to beat a good breakfast. It's the morning, you're hungry, and the last thing you feel like doing is cooking all the deliciously greasy things you really want in your own kitchen. This is when a terrific little diner like Cari's is a godsend. Located on the north end of Granbury, in what appears to be a former fast food something or other, Cari's defines the word "gem." It's just small enough to be quaint, but not so small it's crowded; the folks are friendly, but not over the top to the point it's schticky; and it's clean. Very clean. Super clean. So-clean-I'd-eat-off-the-table-clean (which, for anyone who has ever eaten at, say, a Waffle House can attest, is a major accomplishment). That you don't leave stinking like the grease on the kitchen griddle is another major plus in my book. The real treat, however, is the food. The offerings are basic breakfast fare, but the menu is diverse enough in its combinations that lumberjacks and divas alike leave satisfied. Hot coffee. Bacon, the perfect blend of crispy and chewy. Pork sausage fried to a golden brown. Eggs over easy, literally oozing with yolky deliciousness. Hash browns that scream "eat me" (in a good way, of course). And the pancakes. Don't let me forget the pancakes. Light, fluffy circles of heaven, coated with butter and drenched with maple syrup. The food scene in Granbury is growing - burger joints, sushi restaurants, steak houses - they're all slowly making their way here, but family-friendly (read that: smoke free) breakfast cafes have been virtually nonexistent. Cari's changes all that, and the attention they pay to the overall quality of the experience is appropriate, given they are serving the most important meal of the day. read more

A friendly and welcoming staff is just the first of many happy surprises at Cari's. On weekends the staff wears t-shirts promoting animal rescue and supporting the local no kill shelter. The owner is a devoted animal lover and the staff clearly shares that devotion. On to the food: Pancakes, delicious. Biscuits and gravy, delicious. Veggie omelet, delicious. Prices: So reasonable. Breakfast for 4, all in with tax and tip, still only a very modest $32. The place was packed, absolutely packed, but we were seated without a wait because there is ample seating there, including a lovely outdoor patio. We were visitors to Granbury, TX but if we lived here, I can see making a regular habit of Cari's. read more

From the moment we walked through the door we were given a friendly greeting and though it was very busy we were seated promptly. Everything was very clean and the service was amazing. We never wanted for anything. The sweet cream pancakes are delicious. My eggs were cooked perfectly on my eggs Benedict, which seems to be hard to find these days! The kids menu offers great little meals with silver dollar pancakes, perfect for my daughters. Not only are the food and service great, but the prices are very good too! Amazing breakfast and exceptional service. The person greeting guests when they walked in the door was so kind and really wanted to make sure everyone stayed and waited for a table. It was packed and I would imagine it is typically busier than when we were there but well worth it! The pancakes and cinnamon rolls were the best! My wife and I ate lunch at Cari's on Thursday. We live in Granbury and have been there many times over the years and besides being seated too close to others, as in shoulder to shoulder, we enjoyed the food and their fried pies. I had no idea the place had changed owners, so that explains the slow and poor service and the overall cleanliness of the place. Floors dirty, bathroom dirty, the place smelled like their grease pit had backed up and the food was almost cold when brought to our table. Change the name because it is not Cari's anymore. Also, no one uses the outdoor covered dining, it's too hot, so change your entrance so people aren't waiting in the sun, cold or rain. Use your common sense folks. read more

Yummy! We came here for a late breakfast (our breakfasts are always late really) and were seated right away. It kind of reminded me of going back to the 1970's/80's when we walked in...but I mean that in a good way. It was simple and outdated, yes, however it was warm, inviting, smelled delicious and reminded me of being a little kid again (hence the decades I mentioned) Kind of like a place my grandparents would take me to for breakfast and get their cup of black coffee. Hubby had the Eggs Benedict, he didn't say much about it, but his plate was clean fast so I assume he liked it. My son had a kids breakfast (was only about $4) and it included scrambled eggs, hash browns, 5 mini pancakes and bacon..steal! Naturally we sampled his and we loved the pancakes! I had the turkey club with French fries and was full!! The club sandwich was tasty, but nothing special about the fries; they were good. Overall, we weren't blown away by the food, but when you're hungry and want an after hours breakfast this place works! I will say that the service was great though. Our waitress was on top of everything and very personable. So when my husband wants eggs & bacon but wakes up too late for the places we prefer we'll come here for sure. read more
