Not as gross as the Wolfs Den, but still filled with "local color" The kitchen and bathrooms are dirty. Avoid eye contact with the patrons.

Their German-style beers are unique and thoughtfully crafted, offering something different from the typical brewery lineup. You can tell they put a lot of care into brewing historic and traditional beer styles. My only wish is that they offered a few more non-alcoholic beverage options and some food. Having those available would make it easier to stay longer and accommodate a wider variety of guests. Even so, it's a great spot for beer lovers looking for a distinctive brewery experience.

Then we started to think about food and the server recommended the artichoke dip with homemade flatbread. It was absolutely amazing. The place is cool and the vibe is pretty chill. We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.

We got the spinach artichoke cheese dip, calamari, beer flight, fish tacos, sliders, truffle fries, power bowl with blackened salmon. Too bad their Fog's Mac & Cheese comes with bacon and pulled pork, but it was possible to replace the meats grilled chicken with no up charge. They wouldn't let my FIL have two cheeses on his slider without added fees. Our dinner portion was $99.64. The spinach cheese dip is light on spinach and rather salty. It's so-so. I spilled the mason jar as it slipped out of my hand back onto the table. Oops. The water dumped enough all over the table and our dip and chips too. Guess we are done eating that then. We cleaned it up the best we could with the thin dinner napkins. No one came back by this check up on us and take care of the now water logged table. We should have put in our order earlier. The calamari is too bad, the meat is tender. Crust is just slightly crunchy. The fries are maybe a bit undercooked, wilted too. The sliders are good. The fish tacos aren't bad, meat is still tender. The rice is blah. The Mac & Cheese is good, creamy. Cavatappi noodles are a great noodle for this dish, holds creamy goodness in each bite. The grilled chicken is dry. The power bowl is meh, the veggies seemed to be sautéed in the sweet chili sauce, not for me, would have rather have a soy sauce based sauce for this power bowl. It was way too sweet for me. The blackened salmon is not too bad, although a tad dry. Service got better after our order was placed, the start of it wasn't so good.
