Yesterday I took two friends into captains for a quick drink while we were walking around Wyandotte, our captains experience started off "Mid" by the end of our drinks I had noticed my drinking glass was chipped. I was a little concerned I possibly swallowed a shard of glass, I wasn't going to make a big stink of it, but wanted to inform the bartender that the glass was chipped and to dispose of it for future customers sake, however she ignored me every time I asked excuse me & passive aggressively walking away, mind you I was trying to also close my tab as well. It was taking such a long time to close my tab & show her the chipped glass it got to the point where I had a friend just pay for me because they had cash, as we were leaving a older man with gray hair and a big belly sitting in a chair told me to keep it moving troublemaker! as he was eavesdropping the whole time on our conversation about the chipped glass, which we didn't even make a big deal out of, I asked him what the problem was and he proceeded to keep telling me to keep it moving as if he was threatening me, but I wasn't scared of him the guy looked like a boomer Elmer Fudd, very very rude. The more I think of it, though this could've been the owner of the bar or the bar maids husband possibly because they had no reason to chime in with their two cents on the situation especially in such a defensive manner. Captain's has good bar food. They have a lot of options and choices to choose from, so everyone should be able to find something they like. Their sweet potato fries with caramel sauce is soooo good. It is next to impossible to order take out from Captains. Multiple times I have tried to call them and given up after 5 tries over 20 minutes. They just don't care about take out orders and must not want anyone's money. Find almost any other place in Wyandotte, you will have a better experience and service and a lot less trouble read more

So this is gonna be short but over all good drinks, friends waitress, and the lights dimmed throughout the night which was nice. My cheese sticks were ehh... But my main issue is they fraudulently charged my card. I keep a meticulous budget and hate pending charges for tips so I tip in cash. Anyways my bill was $39.97 and I tipped $8 cash. Well I went to look at what cleared and what hasn't and realized they charged my card $42.97. I know it's not much but that's wrong. I don't even know where to begin. It's weird because everything that was a red flag happened that night. We came in, sat ourselves and we initially got a greeting and drink orders. Yes!! A great start, but unfortunately went downhill pretty steeply from that point on. Specially when your Apple pie shots are sitting on the bar getting warm while waiting to be served. Sadly our friend went up to the bar to get it herself, I didn't know this was a self serve joint specially when you're on a table. I know tips are an essential part of being a floor employee, but not an excuse to ignore the rest of the people. Only to find out that the service from the floor employee is the best you're gonna get. For some reason, transferring from the tables to the bar is even worse. Seems like the mood of the people working last night is not on fleek. The tall older guy at the bar never even acknowledged us nor seemed liked he was in the mood to serve people that night. I guess his mood was passed down to the other girl who was tending the bar as well. I don't know what it is, but if you do not want to serve anybody that night, don't show up for work. Bartenders never even came around to say the magic word. "Are you guys doing ok? Can I get you guys anything else?" The biggest offense that I can cite would be the tall older guy just started flipping chairs up without telling customers that they're getting ready to pack it up. None of that talk, "Did you want a last call drink before we close for the night?" The whole floor area was filled at least with 50% customers, 1:40 am and they flip the ugly lights on. ***SMH*** I really don't know where they learned to do business, but I just hope they whip themselves into shape soon. I was quite satisfied with my experience the other two times I was here. But sadly, last night's experience was rather unforgettably horrid. I will not be coming back ever. Absolutly disgusting behavior of the older man who i would assume was some sort of manager although by his actions at his age he could also be a bar back. Behind the bar talking shit about the managed or owner who told him to keep the lights on and radio on untill 2. Then because he was ready to go we couldnt sit at a table. 21 out of 32 people inside at 115 had come from my bar down the street that closes at midnight because we are a live music venue. Captain's was recommended a few weeks back. Beef tip appetizer was well worth it! Burgers were very good! The only issue was staffing. We had to keep flagging down anyone who was in our vicinity as our waitress was working a very large Birthday party crowd on other side of the bar. Such a fun place to go to, especially when its nice out and they have the garage doors open! There's always a fun crowd...never had any issues with people being rude or acting like an animal. For it being a smaller bar, there's a lot of places to sit, including the patio... that's where my group normally hangs out. The patio was super fun until the neighbor lady decided to complain to the city about it. Now they have to close the patio at midnight and move everyone inside and it gets wayyyy to crowded. Its funny that she complains about there being too many people and too much noise, but the last time I was there she had all her lights on at midnight and was showering with the curtain open giving the guys a show...so naturally they went all crazy. A fairly new spot in downtown Wyandotte, and we decided to try it out while the street fair was going on. There was no wait and we were able to sit outside in the patio area. The patio Area is nice, it's a good use of space so even though it isn't very large you don't feel cramped and can't overhear other tables conversations. The one drawback was people from the bar next door were smoking very close to Captain's patio, and it was annoying to have smoke blown in our direction. Thankfully the smokers were not there the entire meal. The menu is very limited in vegetarian options. The appetizer area was really lacking- this is generally my go to area to find meat free options such as cheese quesadillas, cheese sticks, onion rings, etc. The rest of the menu is the same way, many burgers and wraps. By including a veggie wrap option they could appeal to a large crowd. The beer list was also disappointing. Very few draft beers- bud/light, summer shandy, blue moon. When I asked about Michigan beers the server didn't know and had to go find out the answer (that's acceptable for a new establishment though). When we went they only had one Michigan beer (in a bottle) Wolverine, so I opted for a draft blue moon. I ordered the Caesar salad without chicken and extra croutons. The dressing was light but flavorful. I was very happy with the number of croutons. The person I was with ordered the Bison burger, and it was cooked to order and tasted great. It came with a good portion of fries. The layout is great, it's all open so even from the patio you can see the tvs inside. I counted 4 tvs, making this a great spot to watch a game and get a beer. Very cool design that allows it to be a sports bar but also a chill hangout for non sports enthusiasts- I spotted a juke box as well. I ordered the spicy chicken wrap on a lavash wrap. It was spicy and very big. It had a very good taste. It came with fries. The fries were salted with sea salt. I picked up a burger up from Captian's as carry out. Wait staff and bartender were only masks wearing chin straps--mouths and noses uncovered. While cashing out at the bar, I watched a guest (without a mask) reach behind the bar and into the cut fruit caddy for a grubby handful of orange slices while talking to the bartender who didn't flinch. She ate the orange then proceeded to throw the rind, that was in her mouth, over the bar and into the trash can, banking the rind off the wall. Bartender didn't miss a beat. Not only is Captain's a great bar, they are also a great restaurant!! I am a HUGE poutine fan and their poutine is my absolute favorite!! They make their own ranch and it's delicious! Their Mac and cheese bites are SO good as well as their mozzarella sticks. For lunch, their turkey Reuben is amazing! Expect a crowd on the weekends, but the staff is so well trained that you'll hardly even realize it's busy--they serve you that fast! Try an apple pie shot.. you won't be disappointed! They also have this mango guava hard seltzer on tap and it's so good and the only place I have been to that has it so far (on tap at least). Captains is by far my favorite bar downriver! read more

Captain's Bar in Wyandotte has been a nice addition to the downtown Wyandotte Scene. During the warm months the doors roll up and the bar becomes one with the outdoors. Beyond that it's a pretty average place to grab a beer with friends and keep an eye on the game. I've eaten here twice and both have been a huge disappointment, absolutely flavorless. 16oz aluminum can domestics $3.00, limited brews on tap.
