But, the oil change was taking long, excessively long, despite my appointment. I asked the manager why the oil change was taking three hours, and she claimed they may have been backed up. But that didn't explain why every person who came after me had long left. She tried to cover by saying that they could be here for a quicker service, but there isn't much substantively quicker than an oil change. I just think they're really disorganized in Service, and have no grasp about cars that may have been sitting around a long time. Then I was reminded about how every six months for routine service there is always some issue like this, sometimes worse. So why do I keep patronizing this place? I messaged sales to say HOLD on the new purchase. I called around and will purchase elsewhere today.

I'd had some bad experiences with Mavis at other company-owned and franchised locations. I'm knowledgeable enough about tires and auto repairs and have dealt with enough tire and automotive repair shops over the years to know when I'm being taken advantage of and upsold with a laundry list of 'urgent' repairs, but the crew at the Mavis Discount Tire in Morristown has won me over with their efficiency, honesty, and fair pricing. I recently bought tires for my SUV on the tire manufacturer's website and was able to book an appointment for installation at Mavis Discount Tire. The service at Mavis Discount Tire was efficient and straightforward. They honored my appointment, which isn't always a given, and got me back on the road in about 2 hours, which was pretty good for a Sunday morning. They didn't try to upsell me with any unnecessary add-ons. They gave me a fair price and a realistic timeline and actually stuck to both. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the waiting area could be improved with complementary beverages for customers and the bathroom was out of order, but I'm here for tires and basic auto repairs, not for bad coffee or to use the bathroom. I'll definitely be back next time I need tires or other auto repairs. PRO TIP: Walk down to Dunkin (59-61 Morris St) while waiting for your vehicle for tasty hot and iced beverages and fresh baked goods along with free WiFi and a functional bathroom.
