I gotta say...this bakery is yummy but the hours suck. I can't even count how many times I have pulled into this parking lot which is incredibly hard to get in & out of) is NEVER OPEN. I mean if you are going to own a business ...ur not going to make any money if you are not open. And this is not a one of reviews. This is probably the 4th time I have stopped here and they are not open. Now I just go to Key Foods market in Manchester. At least they are open and always have tre-leeche. .

After last week's fantastic experience with the Maple Street Bakery in Naugatuck, we tried to recreate that success at Carlita's Bakery in Manchester. The interior is dominated by glass showcases that display the goods -cupcakes, cookies, pie slices, pastries, etc. We picked up a slice of Oreo mousse cake, a big hunk of crumb cake, and some Italian Rainbow petit fours. All were very good and our haul cost $10. Ordering the Petit Fours turned out to be quite an adventure. They were priced out by the pound, and we asked for four of them, thinking the four could easily be weighed and we'd be charges by the pound for whatever percentage of a pound they turned out to be. Well in every bakery and deli and fish counter I've ever been to in my life, that's how that works, except at Carlita's where their scale isn't equipped to do that. Instead, we were told they can only be bought in ¼ pound increments, so we went through the time consuming lugubrious process of watching the pieces being weighed out one at a time, until the 8th one hit the ¼ pound mark. Then the clerk was able to punch in a ¼ pound process. We interacted with two employees, and one was quite a bit nicer and friendlier than the other. And although the $10 haul of baked goods tasted great, the quantity of what we bought paled in comparison to what our $10 got us at Maple Street. So, the verdict? Maple Street Bakery over Carlita's by a unanimous decision.

    Teriyaki chicken sandwich

I took out lunch from here. Teriyaki chicken sandwich was my favorite. It was nicely flavorful. Tripleta sandwich was a bit too salty for me. From dessert, almond cake was my favorite. Crumb cake was good too.

I noticed that their menu board was once present based on pictures on Yelp, but when I walked in it was completely empty. After waiting for a staff member to come to the front I asked for a menu. The woman asked me what I was looking for (apparently they don't have menus?). I asked for sandwich options (although I would have liked alternatives but I wasn't sure when else they serve) and was given a list of ham, salami, turkey, and I believe pastrami. I ordered a ham and cheese ...no topping options were given but they did have the lettuce, mayo, and onions I asked for. Customer service was lacking and the sandwich was mediocre.

    Chicken Quesadilla.

I order the chicken quesadilla today passing by on my lunch break. Dry, no salsa or sour cream, and extremely skimpy on the meat and cheese. I will never go back. Awful taste, and service was poor too. Felt rushed out. Thanks, but no thanks. I will not be back. PS. Came back to edit this after having their chocolate cake, tasted frozen, commercial, and dry. This place is honestly a joke. Save your money.

Ordered my Mom a cake to celebrate her retirement and it was gorgeous and absolutely delicious! Thank you Carlitos for helping make her day so special

    Desserts

Carlitos killed it with this tray of mixed treats for the bridal shower we had today. Yes, I did try every single dessert. Every single one AMAZING. I mean seriously, how can you go wrong with éclairs, cannolis, crème puffs, and mini cheesecakes?? And the mini dulce de leche cup cakes were bomb. (They have like 20 cupcake flavor choices. So hard to choose!)

I love an Italian bakery! This is a family owned and authentic Italian bakery. They have…read moretraditional cookies, breads, cakes, pastries, and more. I found this spot via another app that offers discounts on end of day items. I had slices of cake which were good. I purchased a few more items full priced. The cannolis were to die for; they fill it right before they hand it to you. The service was good and plenty of parking in a plaza. I would be there often if I lived closer!

"You need bread, try the bakery You need lovin', look here,…read morebaby I got just what you need" (The Doors) Well, whatever your needs might be, you'll probably take care of it at Giuseppina's Italian Bakery, because they really do have it all. Their website, counters, shelves, and showcases offer you temptations everywhere you look. Want a pastry? What kind of a question is that....sure you do, so how on Earth are you going to choose between these? Cannoli, Tiramisu, 3 kinds of mousse, eclairs, frosted or plain brownies (are you bold enough to get a brownie with peanut butter buttercream frosting?), cream horns, rum rolls, an amazing peach concoction of sweet dough soaked with peach juice and rum and filled with vanilla pudding (!), Sfogliatelle, Zeppol, cream puffs, NY style cheesecake, fruit slices (peaches and strawberries with whipped cream layers and frosting), pasticiotti, cappuccino slices, Amaretto Squares, Limoncello Cake Slices and Chocolate Brownie Cake Slices. And there's more - miniature pastries, Cheese danish, apple, raspberry and blueberry turnovers, Cranberry Orange scones, blueberry scones, chive scones, and roasted red pepper scones, lemon and cherry squares. Get the picture? And I haven't mentioned their Italian cookies, 25 cake varieties, cupcakes, cake pops, pizza slices, sandwiches and stuffed breads. The truth is, this place is fantastic and is clearly in the top ten percent of Italian bakeries we've visited. We picked up an assortment of cake slices, a croissant, a scone, and a donut yesterday. They all looked amazing! We started off splitting that donut, and it was great -very light, not too sweet and just plain delicious. Shout out to the young lady who waited on us, she was pleasant and friendly, and our interaction was a far contrast to some of the less than favorable interactions reported by other Yelpers. PRO TIP 1) Don't worry about parking- they're in a shopping center with plenty of parking. 2) How good does their fig, prosciutto and Asiago cheese stuffed bread sound?

We found a nice table by the door, and the whole place had a very homey and relaxed atmosphere. I also loved that they have outdoor seating. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was very good. We didn't order any food because we already had plans to eat somewhere else down the street, although I'm usually tempted by something sweet with my coffee! This time, the desserts didn't really catch my eye. Many of the options appeared to be gluten-free, and visually they looked a little dry to me, so I decided to skip dessert. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's a comfortable, welcoming place to sit, enjoy a good cup of coffee, work on your laptop, or just relax. I would definitely stop by again!

What I had never done before was order online abd go to the store to pickup until last night. Well...it was a cluster f&$k!!!!! I ordered online Saturday evening around 7:30 because we are going somewhere Sunday and they are closed. I waited about 1/2,hour and headed to the store. I not a notification on my phone to "checkin" when I arrived so I parked and checked in from my phone. As I approached the store I was surprised to see a very long line inside of people waiting. But I ordered online a while ago so I won't have to wait, right? WRONG! This is not like Jersey Mikes (or most other food places) where you order online and they start making your food. Apparently at Crumbl, you don't get a spot in line until you checkin! So I had to wait some 20 minutes for 6 cookies I ordered 45 minutes ago. HORRIBLE! Defeats ordering ahead !! They need a radio button in APP: 1. Prepare now or 2. I want them fresh prepare when I checkin. Mine were for next day so whether they boxed them at 7:30 (and had them ready!) or 8:00 when I arrived makes no difference as they're for next day. End of world? NO! But customer experience? You have an awesome APP and "fun" is what you're about - you should have takeout orders ready no one wants to wait!! They did make an announcement when I arrived that they fell behind due to current special. The line moved well but I didn't like that customers who ordered right before I walked in were ahead of me in line even though I ordered 30 minutes ago (and paid!). Great, fun cookies in a cool atmosphere however. EDIT: I got a nice note from the store. But they miss the point. It doesn't matter what the customer wants they are obsessed with "fresh boxing" (even if customer wants them for next day and temp doesn't matter). They showed me during this visit they can't come close to keeping up when they're busy, so be prepared to wait. "We do it our way screw how that inconveniences our customers". All I suggested was an option - box now or wait til I get to the store. Keep everyone happy!!
