We've seen multiple doctors at the Tribeca location, this was my first time seeing Escuder. She was very dismissive of any questions and when I tried to take notes or ask questions about care, she kept rushing me and said it would all be on pages being provided. She made it clear my note taking was impeding on her time. I also asked if my sons 'weak' eyes (old school term 'lazy') had gotten worse or improved from our last visit and she said that wasn't a medical term and she wouldn't recognize it. I said, whatever the medical term for it then - and she became more dismissive and refused to answer. For clarity, my son is getting treated for what would otherwise be called lazy or weak eyes. The last visit they had used the term 'weak, or what's often referred to as lazy.' I was repeating terms the same office used previously. Happy for use of the medical term, but would have appreciated an answer. I can research myself, but especially for my child, I was hoping to get more thorough information on my child's eye issues. I thought I was being sensitive (especially bc in most care I don't mind bad bedside manner as long as the doctor is good, and thorough) but after discussing my experience with other doctors, they were all more upset. The pre-care team was super into my questions and that perhaps set off the doctor to have some preconceived opinions - but I had 2 questions for the doctor, and neither were answered - and both were dismissed without any clarity. I am now finding a new team for my son. The diagnosis isn't in question, though. It's the experience and need for a doctor willing to explain the issues fully.

He flat out told me "I do not care what patients say" after asking me rapid questions but interrupting me before I could explain anything. When I got flustered (I was actively in pain and dizzy), he got annoyed and proceeded to tell me my diagnosis was wrong, but gave no further assessment. He didn't look at my paperwork, said he hadn't received test results that were right in front of him, and admitted that "I didn't look at your meds" after I asked if a medication he mentioned would be contraindicated with my current meds. Rude, dismissive, and antagonistic for no apparent reason. Maybe if your case is complicated enough to breach his ego he'll help you, but don't go to this man if you want to be treated like a human being.

Anyhow, when I decided to leave I was asked if I wanted to reschedule??? What? I was scheduled. Don't schedule so many appointments near the same time to try to avoid this issue. At least offer me some room to sit in instead of having me stand for a long amount of time. I did like the doctor, but it is not worth it if I have to stand in a hot room for with an aching foot/ankle.

Located at a pretty convenient spot near the 6 train…read more I'm always super nervous when I see a doctor in the US, since there are just way too many things that could go wrong (especially insurance issues...The last time I visited another podiatrist, the receptionist tried to charge me over $250 for a quick consult!), but this was a great visit! The receptionist was SUPER friendly and nice (though I think the office manager was out sick that day...so not sure who was there, but it was the same person that took my blood), and I got to see the doctor within 20 minutes of being there. Dr. Isaacson makes you feel really comfortable and makes sure that all of your concerns are addressed. He also keeps the conversation light, so you kind of forget about being nervous :) When they took my blood, it was also super fast and painless, even though I don't have the easiest veins haha (props to the nurse!). There was no fuss about how much my copay was, which was a relief! Glad they took the time to really check out my insurance and make sure everything was OK.
