I am writing this review to inform not to hate on this restaurant. One good thing about this…read morerestaurant is the cleanliness and quality of the food. The problem here is the energy you get when walking into the restaurant. It's dull. The restaurant is too plain for its own well being. I have also noticed I don't feel particularly welcome or comfortable when walking into this establishment. It feels like the cashiers are doing the very minimum in making you feel welcome and at home like you would in any other small business. Another thing I wanted to mention is the red sauce they make for the pupusas. It doesn't taste quality they preach about using "high quality" ingredients but the sauce tastes extremely watered down. For the high prices you would think they could put a little more effort into it. Lastly, I have heard the owner yelling at the employees multiple times I've gone which seems extremely inappropriate behavior for a grown man.

TAKE OUT ORDER I ordered takeout for lunch here Saturday…read more The place looked Lively and there was about 10 customers, some eating and some waiting for takeout orders. My order was platano frito with refried bean and sour cream. The platano with a little under cooked for my liking and not ripe enough for it to be sweet. That was a bummer. The refried red beans were really yummy, flavor and texture. The other part of my order was pupusas. I tried Revueltas (a mix of pork, beans, and cheese) Nepal y quest (cactus and cheese) and Jalapeño and cheese. The Revueltas were soft very warm and yummy. The Nopal one was cheesy and surprisingly delicious. The jalapeño was chopped finely but lacked flavor. If you know pupusas they are accompanied by Curtido (cabbage pickled slaw) and a red tomato sauce that is drizzled over them. The Curtido and salsa de tomaté at Pupuseria Villanueva are on the spicier side. Jalapeños are added to the Curtido and the tomato sauce is spicy. I recommend a taste test if your not unto spicy food. For takeout it was pretty good but I was not impressed. I will return to sit down and try other food items because I did enjoy the Nopal pupusas and the Curtido.
