I stopped at this location at 4 PM on a Saturday. The drive-through was empty, and the gas station next-door was quite full. It's a little tricky traversing the gas station traffic to get to the drive-through in the back of the Carl's Jr, but I achieved this feat with zero middle fingers launched in my direction. With no line, I went through the drive-through quickly and with some trepidation that the two lonely stars on this location's rating may have some merit. Ordering was easy and friendly. When I got up to the window, I had the same friendly with attentive service with a smile and good wishes for the rest of my day. My fries were hot and fresh out of the fryer; delicious when dipped in the salted caramel pretzel shake....and the burger was better than decent. Is it the BEST Carl's Jr. Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger I've ever had? No. But, it was definitely beyond "just good" ... it was hot and delicious. I took a peek inside through the drive-through window, and everything looked clean. Services with a smile and a yummy burger. I'm not sure what more anyone would want from a fast food place. The public has come to expect inferior food and service from junk food outlets, but Carl's Jr. in Apache Junction takes it lightyears farther from what is considered typically acceptable. The stoned guy on duty at night is a piece of work. He sits on the food counter watching his phone with his back to customers. Patrons walk up and it takes him several minutes before he'll acknowledge their presence. When he does, he'll either slide off the counter like a porpoise, turn around and glare at you waiting for you to initiate the dialog, or offer an annoyed, "Whaddya want?" No smile, no thank-you, nothing pleasant. He acts offended, like you walked in on him using the bathroom. When the order arrives wrong, he slings irresponsible comments like, "You should have said so", "Next time, say you don't want mayonnaise", "No, you probably forgot," "If you don't like it, why do you keep coming here?" and other insults. Orders often have to be resubmitted 3 or 4 times before the female druggie in the back gets it right. These miserable souls are content with their jobs at Carl's Jr. Their shakes taste like crushed ice with corn syrup. I've had better slop at Circle K, and their food is genuinely disgusting. I've been coming here often since January during evening hours. Usually, I'm the only customer here, and like to stay after I eat to read or catch up on my bookwork. Only once can I recall ever seeing anyone else come in during the evening. Eventually I grew tired of being bullied and getting handed shiddy food, so I finally quit eating here. There's no compelling reason to support this dysfunctional outfit. It needs to be shut down until someone responsible can be found, who is willing and able to operate it properly. Was kinda of an ass to me because I asked for my food to be made fresh from the fryer! As I order the chicken club and jalapeño bites were half clod and some were warm Chick was good. But her customer service skill are very much lacking! The downfall is, it's always dirty in the lobby area and the bathrooms are horribly nasty all the time! Thieves! So I ordered a famous star burger with NO cheese. When we got our order we noticed it said no sauce so we wet back in and said we wanted sauce just no cheese ad he said yes it was fine. Yes, there was sauce but no cheese. Hmmmm what was it all about? Well, cheese cost a quarter, no cheese means they have to subtract a quarter so by putting no sauce they get to charge that quarter. Understaffed!! There was nothing fast about my experience. I straight-up got the wrong order. When I brought it to the cashier's attention, she had the correct food prepared. We went to Carl's Jr. to get the Phoenix Suns special which is advertised as one free bacon cheeseburger with the purchase of a drink. We ordered three cheeseburgers and fries. We we got our order we only got the fries. We got in line again and told them they forgot the burgers. When we got to get our food there was only one burger in the bag. We got in line again and said we needed our other burgers at that time we were told it was only one special per car. So we had to buy two more burgers. Worst experience I've ever had in my life at a restaurant if I could rate 0 stars I would! I came at 11:15 (45 mins from when they close) and the young kid with the pencil thin mustache and dark curly hair (who looked seriously high on serious drugs) refused to make our order because they closed in 45 mins. I'm just going to get right into it...EVERY time I've gone through this drive thru, I've ended up with the wrong food in some way. We lived around the corner with no other fast food in sight, so it's where i'd end up. The drive thru takes an eternity and the outcome is the wrong food. Even when I'm the ONLY ONE in the drive thru! The last time I went through, they forgot an item again. I checked the receipt, and not only is that item on there, a drink was "mistakenly" added for $1.00 that I was never even given! I went back around and showed the guy. In a horrible twist of fate. my car died right in the middle of their drive thru in the dead of the night. David on their night crew, was AMAZING. He helped me push my car into a space, and even brought me his phone to use. Inability to get an order right seems to be a common problem here. Carl's Jr is a little out of my way but I went there one week ago. Ordered two Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuits. When I got home I had a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuits. No receipt in the bag so no way to verify if the order was entered incorrectly or filled incorrectly. This morning I went back. Ordered the same, Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuits. I told the woman I had gotten the wrong thing last week. She apologized and said they would double check it this time. When I got home I again had a wrong order--Bacon rather than Sausage. Again no receipt in the bag or offered. This afternoon I called and asked to speak with the manager on duty. After explaining the error to him, the first words out of his mouth were "do you have your receipt?" I said no and he said "that's weird". He was more fixated on the fact that I didn't have a receipt than offering an apology. Out of frustration, I drove there and spoke with the man I had talked to on the phone. He was still more fixated on the fact that I hadn't been given a receipt. His only offer was a coupon for the two biscuits I had returned or a refund of $2.20. I said "I'll take the money and I won't be back, there are many other fast food places more conveniently located to me. His reply was a simple and insincere, "I'm sorry". I was surprised to see his name tag said "General Manager". I've come to expect poor and inappropriate customer service from many younger fast food workers. Receiving this level of customer service from the manager leaves little hope for appropriate resolution of this issue. An immediate sincere apology along with perhaps a coupon or two for free meals would have been more appropriate. As it is the sale was a wash, I don't have anything to eat, and I'm out the gas money to drive down there twice, once this morning and again this afternoon.
