I love Carl's Jr, I love their burgers and fries so I suggested coming here instead of in n out because I really craved a famous burger. I ordered on the app and in person for the deals that the app doesn't have. It was so empty that there's lots of seating, we were the only ones dining in. There was a few drive thru customers and some came in to order for to go, use the restroom, and leave. I think more used the restroom than ordering during the time we were there. I got the 5.99 burger deals and famous Star deal. Also ordered a kids meal on the app which didn't come with a toy but had a cookie which my son didn't really like and neither did I, tasted stale. They didn't have the chilis like in n out, instead they sold jalapeño slices for 1.25 (for a small container) and I got it for my dad because I changed our plans to here instead. He said it wasn't good and tasted weird... I had a great meal, but the fountain drink machine is off so refills had to go to staff which I wish we didn't have to. Pretty dreadful experience. First of all, there's just no way a fast food combo meal should cost $20, but it seems like nearly every option at this Carl's Jr location is between $15-20. Next, the service is SLOW -- there was only one poor worker manning the register and drive through, and one other cooking all the food. The restaurant could definitely use more hired help. Manager, Mabel, was very rude. They not only did not allow self-serve refills, I was denied any refills at the counter. No policy in writing; just at the whim of the manager. Food is not as advertised, and Mabel basically said so what. She said I was being racist because is was being so cheap. I could file a complaint, but the owner won't care. Thus manager should be fired. Avoid this location in Azusa. Boycott it until they decide to become a good place again, or until they close this location. P.S . Look at the other reviews and you'll understand more. The problem is that most people don't review or complain. It is also important to note that no one from CJs ever reviews and comments on any post left here. They simple must not care. I ordered the double famous star combo that they had a sign for outside the store that the meal was $8.99. When we pay the bill comes out high. Cashier Angel didn't give us our receipt after I ask for it because he wasn't going to give it to us. We see that he charged me double of what the sign said. I asked him why he did that and he said that we needed to tell him ahead of time. Keep in mind the sign outside did not say that. Nothing much to say other than Carl's Jr needs a big overhaul in its corporate leadership to stay relevant. They don't stand out in any way and their locations sometimes are overtly mismanaged. The price of their food is not in keeping with either the quality of quantity served. The ambience is dated and needs a big refresher. I would only stop here every now and then for a breakfast burrito or a burger as long as I have one of those coupons because I can't justify $11 for a breakfast Burger or a loaded burrito, which is extremely small considering it's $10 after tax. read more

Drove thru and ordered at this Carl's Jr and the guy working the drive thru refused to take change as a form of payment because he didn't want to count the change. He stated he made a mistake with another customer to whom paid with pennies. With a really irritable tone of voice, he stated that the previous customer gave him like $5 in pennies, which he apparently accepted without counting, only to count the money after giving the customer their order and discover it wasn't the full amount. It's nearly 1am, there isn't any other customers here. What did I do to deserve to have to go elsewhere to buy food simply because this guy is too lazy to count change and wants to prevent himself from making the same mistake twice by denying me service? I haven't been to a Carl's Jr in ages. Since I had just got out of a month long stay at City of Hope, and my GI is wrecked, plus my spouse was hungry, we decided to stop at this location. The first thing we noticed was how clean it is. This place is super clean. That's definitely a pro. However, the sticker shock on two medium combos quickly overtook my impressions of the appearance. Nearly $30 for two combos. That's Slater 50/50 prices. What's going on with fast food joints? I know it's not a raise in minimum wage because In-N-Out have been paying their folks well for decades and you can get two double double combos for $15 there. Ok, ok. $30. Whatever. I better get a sit-down restaurant quality meal at least. Did I? Well, that's debatable. The flavor of the food was actually ok. The hot honey chicken sandwich was ok. It tasted as advertised. The bacon western cheese burger was also ok. Their fries were decent as well. However, if you are going to serve a sandwich covered in honey, where are the wet napkins? There were none. We asked for a plastic knife so we could cut the sandwiches in half so we could both share each one. They had no knives. How does a fast food joint have no plastic knives? That's insane to me. Ok, I did mention needing to use the restroom in the beginning of this review. If I'm paying $30 for two medium, mediocre, sandwich combos, my b-hole better have a wonderful experience in there. Did it? No, no it did not. They have the thinnest TP I have ever seen in the stalls. I thought I was about to wipe with rice paper, it was that translucent. What?! Really? You guys are charging restaurant prices. Where's my Charmin roll? You have the restrooms behind a paywall, literally. Why not give your paying customers a nice experience? And her active listening skills were very weak. This was one of my favourite Carl's. Not sure what happened but it now it's gone downhill. When you enter the restaurant has an odd smell, probably because the bathroom is right there as you enter. They are so disgusting dirty and you have to have a code to enter. We ordered and the girl insisted on knowing what we wanted to drink, I pointed at the soda fountain and she started it's not working ok. I had a terrible interaction with an employee, I ordered a spicy chicken and onion ring, I had a code that stated I could redeem free onion rings in person. The cashier who didn't have a name tag said I had to place the order online, I proceeded to tell her that the app said I could redeem it at the restaurant. To avoid more the conflict i ordered the onion rings online. I did order the chicken sandwich at the restaurant. She was so upset at the situation I asked her for two ranch's and two cups of water and she said with a terrible attitude no I can only give you one ranch and one water. I came with my husband. I've been coming to this location off and on for a number of years for their delicious burgers and other fast food fare. I've enjoyed the food here usually for those late night hunger pangs. It pains me to say that every time I come here I get just a little bit sadder each time because something or other seems to go awry. Example, today the dining area was closed (3pm).
