Jalapeno Double Cheeseburger - quick and good for the price
Michael Y.

Bacon double Western cheeseburger late at night - yep, this is a review for a visit decades ago. Where else can you get a legit, giant cheeseburger like that? It was gigantic, greasy, and exactly what I wanted for dinner for a younger me. There were no other options for dinner after dinner hours. I have had bad experiences with a certain Carl's Jr. a lot farther away where the burger deals drew me in - about three burgers for a good price. But it turned out to be dry, lukewarm, and seemed microwaved. But fast forward to my most recent visit, I tried the simple jalapeno double cheeseburger from the value menu, and it turned out well! It was hot to-go with fresh ingredients that were solid. It was good, and so I would consider coming back to try more in the future! Not bad quality for the price!

Beef Soft Taco ($4.31): No Crema

Date: Saturday, April 27th, 2024 Meal: Late Dinner Pickup Party of: 2 How: Carl's Jr App via Drive Thru Time Ordered: around 10:15pm Time Ready: around 10:45pm Discounts: we had a 50% off coupon on the app *Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger ($9.88) *Double Famous Star ($9.55): Lettuce Wrap *Charbroiled Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich ($9.88) *Waffle Fries ($5.04) *Jalapeño POPPERS Bites: 6 piece ($6.17) *Crunchy Chicken Taco ($4.31) *Beef Soft Taco ($4.31): No Crema It had been a while since I had CJ, so I figured why not?! The hubby and I normally have a fast food meal Saturday nights, so we decided to stop by this location on the way home. I placed my order on the app and it said it'd be ready in 10 mins. Once we got here, there were two cars in front of us. I don't know why, but it took forever for them to move! We sat there for a good 15 mins until the car in front got their order. Once that happened, the line moved very quickly, but it made me rethink visiting CJ again. Other spots never took this long. Price wise, I'm glad we had the 50% off. Otherwise, our meal would have been $50+ for two people. And we finished everything once we got home. Very pricey for fast food, but at least you can get variety? I ended up getting a couple things from Green Burrito as well. Okay once in a while, but for $50, I may save that cash for something other than fast food. Note: I typically get the super star with cheese, but I didn't see it, so got the dbl famous star instead. If memory serves, they seem like the same thing, but who knows.

Simple eats - stopped by Carl's Jr for a quick and easy lunch. I've only eaten here for a handful of times and always thought it's okey. Nothing to write home about. I do love the buns they use, super airy and fluffy!

My brother and I came here a few days ago on Christmas Eve for a quick lunch. We have been coming here a few times a year for many years now. We really like eating here because there is lots of parking in the back, the restaurant is always clean and the staff persons are always friendly. I really enjoyed my Super Star Burger Combo. I also had some Waffle Fries and some Fried Zucchini, which is my all time favorite. I highly recommend this place if ever you are in this part of Daly City.

Okay during these days of quarantine the amount of restaurants opened are limited. I decided to order from a delivery app some Carl's Jr. I got the fish and burger sandwich ( surf and turf). It was good.

Not a 1/3 lb patty which is what I paid for.

It was also slightly on the drier side, but the coleslaw served alongside helped balance things out nicely and added some freshness to the meal. The place has a casual setup with around 5-7 tables for dining in, though it seemed like most customers were picking up takeout orders. Overall, it's a convenient spot for a quick burger, especially if you're in the area and looking for something simple and satisfying.

I got a giants burger in a lettuce wrap, an order of the small mouth burger, kids sliders, and my husband got a big mouth burger. I also wanted to get a couple of cookies n cream milkshakes but sadly, they did not have that flavor, only vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and banana. We opted for a couple of vanilla/chocolate swirls instead. The milkshakes came out first - they were on the thicker side so we had to wait a bit for it to melt first, but otherwise were creamy, sweet, and delicious. The kids enjoyed their meals - the small mouth burger came with additional toppings like pickles and onions on the side. The sliders were plain. My giants burger came out initially with no onion rings but the staff proactively realized their mistake and brought this out to me on the side. However, they also forgot the BBQ sauce that was supposed to come with it, which would have been a nice touch. The patty was a bit on the salty side. All the meals had fries on the side, with the giants burger coming with garlic/parmesan fries.

Doing an update for this location since it's been 5+ years since my last visit / review. One thing…read morethat hasn't changed, was the smoke and overwhelmingly mouthwatering smell of fresh grilled burgers permeating throughout the entire corner of the shopping center. While most other things are the same, there are some differences. As many places have, they've geared more towards the self-service kiosk approach to ordering. As soon as you enter, there are two kiosks to the left, then one more to the right on the counter instead of one of the registers. They still have a place where you can order from a human being if you prefer that (or like me, have customizations that can't be accommodated via the kiosk)...lol. All jokes aside, I ended up having to order through a person. It's not my fault though, they're promoting this delicious looking new toasted Parmesan-crusted sourdough, but only on a Chicken Club sandwich. Being that we hadn't been to Habit in a while, we were craving a burger specifically. After having to bring a manager over to approve the request and figure out how to enter it into the system, we were able to get the special new bread on our Double Char and Santa Barbara Char for an additional charge of ~$1 each (WORTH IT!). The other new items that came (I assume) around the same time as the Parmesan bread, are Garlic Parmesan Fries, and a Garlic Parmesan Ranch. Both the fries and the ranch were surprisingly good. The fries were a little oily/greasy, but the flavor on them was very rich. The Parm ranch was bold and flavorful, and honestly paired well with everything. By everything, I mean the fries, onion rings, tempura green beans, sweet potato fries, and most especially poured on my Santa Barbara Char. It also paired perfectly with the new bread, and made each bite one of the best I've had in recent history. Another big difference is that they now charge for all sauces (aside from ketchup & hot sauce). Back when we were coming here more regularly, ranch was free. You would just ask them at the counter, and they'd give you one, or a few, at no charge. While they do have a solid sauce selection (BBQ, sweet mustard, teriyaki, ranch, spicy ranch, avocado ranch, and the new garlic parm ranch), they charge $0.60 each. They still have Pepsi products at the fountain, in addition to unsweetened regular and tropical iced tea, and both fresh strawberry and cucumber limeades. Two public, gender neutral bathrooms are in the back with no passcode. It was steadily busy on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm. Most of the tables were full, but there was some turnover with people finishing and leaving and lots of to-go orders. Thank you again to the patient woman who took our order, dealing with all the changes and additions. The food was all very tasty, and we especially loved the new Garlic Parmesan items. We're already talking about making another trip to Habit to get it again...

I was so hungry, I consumed mine in the car before we got home. While I waited for the order, I watched staff work hard and quickly getting the orders out without losing a beat. The supervisor in charge had everything under control while he worked the register and packed the orders into bags or boxes. I had other foods at home to eat, or I would have bought an order of the tempura green beans, onion rings and maybe fries. My burger was very good but the cheese wasn't completely warmed enough or melted. Can't wait to be back again and next time I'll get the tempura green beans, my fav.

It's a small, family-owned spot with plenty of indoor seating. You order at the counter and then grab a table. I was in the mood for a cheeseburger but not a bun, and the owner was very accommodating and made mine as a lettuce wrap. The patty was charred to perfection, and the melted cheese paired really well with the fresh onions, pickles, and tomatoes. Everything tasted fresh, and the homemade sauce tied it all together nicely. My partner ordered a veggie burger and added jalapeños. He forgot to add cheese, and the owner kindly took the burger back and added melted cheese at no extra charge. The veggie burger was perfectly charred and came with the same fresh toppings. We also shared an order of fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. I would definitely come back to try more of their burgers in the future.

I thought their chicken sandwich was very crunchy and it was huge! I shared it with my husband, but it didn't really wow me nor do I have cravings to go back. We got there in the morning and it was basically dead. No one else was there and the bowling alley was closed, which added more to the emptiness. No parking lot, only street parking, but we found a spot right away at the nearby residential homes.
