It's seems there are lots of expansion is happening in San Francisco especially in Stonestown. I have been waiting to go to HeyTea( Haiti) but it has not opened. As Good Friday approaches I am craven some chicken. I can't put my finger on it but I enjoy some good chicken fingers. I first heard the term Chicken Fingers from Canadians and it is commonly known as chicken tenders in San Francisco. So when I saw Raising Canes Chicken fingers was coming to Stonestown in SF I was excited but then it hasn't opened yet. So I decided to go to the nearest Raising Cane's in Colma. Although there are more dead people in Colma than living the inside Raising Canes felt alive with decor which represents the nearby schools and local sports teams. I ordered the box combo from their minimalist menu which has all the essentials except onion rings . I enjoyed the lightly batter chicken fingers which was not too crunchy and was tasty dipped in the Canes signature sauce and the tangy with the honey mustard sauce and a bit spicy with their Louisiana hot sauce . It came with crispy not soggy crinkle cut fries which were a good way to pair the chicken fingers along with Texas toast which was not too flakey like some in SF. This is one of my favorite fast food places to get chicken fingers. They also do catering so you can give others the finger. The chicken is delicious. But the size of each piece is small, who ya kidding? Texas toast included to 'make-up' for the thinly size strips. Amount of fries with the meal (on the menu board looks small) so I ordered an extra side of fries and even the side amount was stin-gee. NOT a very nice presentation when you open the carton to see what little food you get for the amount of money they charge. I paid $ 17.00 for a 3-piece w/ soda, and extra side of fries. Inside the restaurant was a modesty lit atmosphere that works for what they are trying to achieve, but still a bit messy on the inside. Being in the bay area, there are a lot of fried chicken places clean Korean fried chicken and Asian fried chicken fast food establishments. Thought we'd give this national chain a try, however it is not quite up to the raves and reputation we've heard from friends in other areas of the country and locally . Chicken fingers are not crispy and that maybe partly due to the amount of oil that's left over after the frying. They were certainly busy as we came here on a Saturday night. Wonder if it would be better on any less busy day of the week or in the middle of the day. Cane sauce was interesting but nothing that tintillated the taste buds. Was in the area and tried Raising Cane for the first time. The chicken fingers were kinda in between a crunchy and a softer exterior. Certain parts were crunchy and certain parts have no crunch. Every piece was juicy and delicious. I could eat the finger as is but their sauce really make it so much better. I got the combo with fries, coleslaw and Texas toast. As a LSU grad, canes is life. I've eaten an unholy amount of canes in my life and I'm absolutely okay with that. When I heard another one was opening up in the Bay, and this time in an area I actually happen to be near pretty often, I knew it was time that I was reunited with this college staple. This location has a pretty big dining room, some outdoor seating, and a two lane drive through, all of which were filled up on the gloomy Saturday we stopped in - yes, even the outdoor seating! When I saw the menu my jaw dropped, granted it's been a while since I graduated so I'm not sure what the current prices are at the OG Canes, but the prices here were about double what I was used to. Of course this is California and not Louisiana, but it's still fast food and I was shocked. My boyfriend and I decided to get the caniac combo to share - no slaw extra toast (of course), and it ended up being enough food for the two of us. That's probably why they keep it behind the counter so you can't get free refills because I would empty that out. Okay, the chicken I had was fresh. I went at an off time, so I have noticed during busy times, forget about service or freshness. They seem understaffed. I've been hearing a bunch of hype around Raising Cane's and I was in the neighborhood so decided to give it a try. First time here, so I decided to go with their caniac meal to split with my girlfriend since it comes with 6 tenders, fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and a 32oz drink. Around $21 before tax. Added on an extra side of fries and Texas toast, with a couple sides of honey mustard, total came out to $29. I did have a 15-minute drive back home, but in that time the chicken and fries got a bit cold and soggy, so definitely need to eat it there next time around. We threw the food in the air fryer to get more crisp back. I thought the chicken was ok, it's really the cane sauce that makes it. The Texas toast, fried and coleslaw were alright. Still only 2 kinds of sauce, no bbq chicken tenders, spicy, variety to choose from. Bread is only white or no other breads, no biscuits, no corn bread, no gravy on the menu yet, feels like nothing has change much. Prices and deals are still the same and I don't think Canes will ever be at the same level of chicken gods that Popeyes, KFC, or crispy crunchy has reached. Sure they have the ez app online purchases, 2 drive thru, pickup or options to order but the food is not that great and I feel like they just want to stay in the safe zone. Doesn't hurt to try different recipes or ways to improve your chicken, it's risky at first but pays off in the long run if you give something different and unique that other companies don't have. Tip 3.  No dessert is offered here Tip 4.  Extra sauce costs you .59 or something like that.     The lady who took my order was ok, she didn't recommend anything.  Customer service skills lacking.  She even had a little bit of an attitude.       I ordered; 1.  The box combo - Chicken fingers, in my opinion, were not crunchy.  It was juicy and flavorful but felt more on the soggy side.  Fries were nice and crispy.  I didn't care too much for the sauce.  It was nothing great. It just had a bunch of pepper in it.   Texas toast was good and fluffy.  Hi-C Fruit punch didn't taste that good.  Mostly syrup. 2.  The sandwich combo is similar to the box combo since it's just strips and not an actual patty. I always give it some time before going somewhere well known that just opened up. So now that I've had the chance to visit, here's my take. Their menu is super simple. Fried chicken fingers, friend chicken finger sandwich, fries, toast, cole slaw. I get food is not perfect to some, service isn't 10/10. But for what it is, Raising canes delivers in flavor, portions and price. I haven't had a meal at any raising canes location wasn't cooked properly. As for drinks they have most of the major soda brands, but sweet tea is always my top choice. From what I see, this location run fairly well. I've been here when it's slow, busy, first thing in the morning and even late at night and I have yet to have a bad experience. For me, the chicken tenders are "A" tier. Crunchy, even breading, juicy chicken. The fries are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They only get soggy when I let them sit for too long. Idk if this is a "hack" but I get the 3 finger combo, ask for cole slaw, open the bread, put a finger, cole slaw and sauce in there for a little sandwich. For someone watching what they eat, this isn't that type of place. According to online nutrition facts, the 3 finger combo is about 1100 calories with 48g of protein, Your best bet to just just get the chicken fingers. Roughly 13g of protein for every 2oz of chicken when attempting to be health conscious here. I was happy when they announced that Raising Canes would be opening up in Daly City!!! Whenever my husband is away for school or traveling far for work and I know that there is a Raising Canes in the neighborhood, I tell him to bring me back some. However, now it's literally down the street from me and I couldn't be happier!! This location is nestled in Metro Mall near the Burger King. There is a ton of traffic headed towards this plaza now, but there is plenty of parking. This location has 2 drive-thru lines, but you can also go inside to order or order for pick-up (which is way faster). When Raising Canes first opened on 11/19, I knew it would be a long wait to get my food, so I waited a couple days after. It was still pretty busy, but my husband and I decided to wait in line to see how long it would take. From getting in line, ordering our food, and getting our food - it took 45 minutes all together. The drive-thru may take just as long, or even longer depending on the line. Pick-Up orders were quoted to take around 30 minutes (15-30 on slower days). I will say that the staff were on it with the cleanliness and they were all super friendly despite being grand opening weekend. Some staff also came from other locations to help out because it was SUPER busy. My husband and I both got the following: -2 Caniac Combos $19.99 each + we also subbed out the coleslaw for extra toast, and there is no surcharge for that. Total: ~$44 with tax I've had their Caniac combos many times and it was so good. They did not skimp out on the chicken when I had it, and the fries were hot and crispy! The sauce always completes the meal, alongside the Texas Toast. If you make a slit in the toast, you can build your own chicken sandwich. It was my first time going to this Cane's location and I was ecstatic seeing the huge sign at the stoplight before turning in. Cane's was my post- track meet/choir concert treat during college back in LA. We would make the drive from Westwood Village down to the closest Cane's which was near Hawthorne. We went at around 10pm and there were lots of people getting their nightly Cane's. There's lots of parking as it's located in a strip mall. I can't imagine how much busier this place is during the day. There's a drive thru section which seemed well organized. We opted to go inside since we figured we'd get our food quicker (which we did). Service was hospitable and restrooms were somewhat clean. I think my main issue would be the cleanliness of the establishment. We probably would've stayed there and ate our food if it weren't for that. The fries were salty, and the Texas toast was soft, fluffy, and buttery. The coleslaw was fine, maybe a little too much dressing. Service was quick and they call out your name on the microphone. Music is loud inside, and seating may be scarce depending on the time of day. What I did appreciate was seeing how excessive some of the employees wiped down the tables and offered to clear trays when done eating.
