I needed a burger fix and saw they had this Angus Maximus deal for $5.99. I've gone to this establishment once before, and did observe despite ordering through the app, it did take a bit longer to receive the order during my first experience. This was also the case this time around - I need to stop being lazy and walk inside to get my order instead of going through the drive thru. That being said, there were a few people in the drive through and it took a bit of time for them to get their order. By the time I was at front, I received my order right away and was thankful for that. The burger itself - pleasant surprise. From my experience, I can tell whether I am eating a beef burger, kobe, angus, etc. They cooked the angus maximus well. We've gone through the drive-thru here twice in the past few days, and both experiences were great, especially because of the exceptional customer service from Justin. The first night, we stopped by because my husband was craving the $5.99 Spicy Chicken Maxx. We also ordered the $5.99 Build Your Own Bag, which is such a good deal. The AI initially took part of our order, and then a young man came on the intercom to finish it. He was so courteous, polite, and professional that my husband and I actually looked at each other because his manners stood out that much. We went back a couple of days later and received the exact same excellent service. I was pretty sure it was the same person, so when we got to the window I asked if he had been working a few nights earlier. He said yes! We told him how much we appreciated how courteous and polite he had been both times. I asked his name, and he told us Justin, so I told him I would be sure to give him a shoutout on Yelp. In a time when great customer service can sometimes be hard to come by--especially in fast food--Justin really stood out. He was genuinely pleasant, respectful, and professional both times, and that deserves recognition. We haven't eaten inside the restaurant, so I can only speak to the drive-thru, but both visits were also quick and efficient. The Mexican lady who gave me my food handed me my bag frustrated and seemed like she was in a rush. That I was inconveniencing her for whatever reason. I then asked for some hot sauce and salsa packets. Before I could even finish my sentence she turned away and gave me the salsa packets. I said can I have hot sauce too please. I no longer go to this location prior to an incident that happened a while ago. I brought back burnt fries and it was literally thrown back at me at the drive through because I demanded new fries. But the worker said they need the whole meal to make any new food. I said, how about if I ordered just fries. The problem here is quality control. That's on management. You can stand at the front counter and watch the employees pulling the burger patties out of the warmer to make the burgers. They're cooking them in batches ahead of time and storing them. They are assembled when you order them but they ate pre-cooked and stored in a warming bins until someone orders. The fries I had today were some of the best I've ever received at this location, the employees who were working today were fantastic. They greeted me with an excited "Yes Sirrr!" and quickly got my order to me. Service there team gives us marginal at best. Most working drive through have personalities of wet paper towels. My food is always hot because I get parked (which is their way of trying to fool the number of how much time customers have actually waited) for 10-15 because they never have it made to go like most fast food places. I have a limited lunch time and noticed a long drive thru line. No problem, I'll just come inside. I got to their door and saw customers eating inside, but the door is locked. I knocked and the customers looked at me then look at the cashier. The cashier is standing there and won't even look at my direction, so I knocked again. We've all eaten at CJ's before. I came here specifically to try the new turkey burgers. I was pleasantly surprised! It was REALLY good, and not heavy at all, like the rest of their burgers. It is served on a wheat bun, to make it under 500 calories (just the burger), if you get fries you can kiss that 500 calories good bye. The staff in this location has always been a little less then professional in my eyes though. They talk a lot amongst themselves from everything to how they just rated on a secret shop, to video games etc. They don't seem to pay much attention to people when they walk up to order either. read more

This location is great for some items and no so great for other items on the menu. Most often times the burger temperature is cold. I assume because the patty comes out of a steam based heater. During the assembly, it seems like the heat is lost. If you are in the drive thru and have a three minute or longer drive time, forget about enjoying a hot burger. Don't get me started on the fries. Oddly, the criss-cuts and fried zucchini are usually hot. No complaints there. Now, when I get the itch for a Western Bacon, I order it fresh and just wait. The people here are always nice. The drive thru is fairly fast. It it what it is and if your gonna go here for a burger, order a fresh patty and add 4-5 min on the wait. Oh one last comment. Their burger assembly game needs help. Over the past four years and more than two dozen visits, when I get the Super Star and Famous Star, the eating experience is frustrating. The tomato, pickles, lettuce and onion all end up falling out of my burger or I fight to keep them all together from one bite to the next. So, DO NOT unwrap it and try to cut them in half. Just leave in the paper sleeve and don't eat in your car unless you want a ketchup Laced pickle or lettuce piece in your lap. My suggestion is that if you are wanting to eat on the fly, one handed get the WBCB. They travel way better. Just watch out for falling onion rings with bbq sauce. So done with this place. I love Carl's Jr but this one ALWAYS messes up the orders, especially the "to go" Orders. We ordered the Super Star wrapped in lettuce...got the Big Carl in a bun. Ordered the Western Bacon Cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce. It was in the bun. Ordered onion rings. It was put in the bag, upside down and were old and burnt. Ridiculous to pay that much money for things you didn't get or how you ordered or just plain bad. Seriously, you charged us how much for old, over-cooked onion rings? It's obvious if a customer didn't order them you would've trashed them. But you were too dang lazy to cook fresh ones Last LAST time coming to this place EVER. We've given it so many chances...and wasted so much money here. Save your money. Go to the Safeway in the same parking lot, buy frozen onion rings, then either bake them at 500° for an hour or deep fry them until your smoke detector goes off. Then let them sit 4 hours. read more
