We used to feed our family from here when we lived in Rocklin from about 2010, when the original owners, at least the 3 same gentleman worked the woks. Fried rice, chow mein, sesame chicken or orange chicken, and their cheese wontons. Always had leftovers, and always felt value in the price. We moved away in 2015, returned in 2021, and now it's a ton of food for just my wife and I, but we still have the kids over on occassion and Prime Wok feeds us on some of our game nights. Some faces have changed, but the food is still the same great quality, and it is great to see their business is doing great. Always people picking up orders, orders being packed for pick up. Busy. The restaurant itself is more of a "to go" restaurant. They do offer seating and tables, but honestly, in all my times getting food, I am not sure if I have ever seen diners, just people waiting to take their food home to their families! Prime Wok is greasy spoon Chinese. Fast, take-out focused, inexpensive. The shop has dine-in seating, but all the food is packaged and bagged, sauces come in squeeze packs. They seem open to customizing orders, just be patient with language differences as you make your requests. Food is served !!hot!!, fresh, and in huge portions. Our combo with veggie chow mein and kung pao tofu was overflowing the container and all tasted very good, just don't mistake this for health food. Veggie egg rolls on the side were awful. Gummy and undercooked in the middle. While we'll pass on the egg rolls, we'll likely be back for other menu items. read more

I can't figure out why they are rated over 4 stars. I must be used to better Chinese food in my area. I wanted eat it there and told the guy so. He said would you like utensils? I said of course I do how else am I supposed to eat it. I had to ask for a plates as well. I don't think the guy helping Custer was to bright. I know good help is hard to find but come on. I don't think the food quality was good. I will say they are big portions. When I tried serving my food the fork broke. Very flimsy and small. Question? Why not spend a little more on quality forks. The portions here are humongous! Honestly, the chow mein could have feed an entire family. I'll be eating left overs all week long. It was filled with large, juicy, pieces of chicken. The noodles were flavorful but slightly too salty in some bites. I love honey walnut shrimp and I was very impressed with the size of these shrimps. Jumbo for sure! I was craving Chinese and this place stood out. No frills. You go in, order from the big menu and you'll be out in less than 15 minutes. This type of Chinese food is very nostalgic to me. It was our first time trying this place out as we were housesitting in Rocklin, thought we could try it out as it had good reviews. We ordered a combo plate for dinner you definitely get a good portions for a decent price it came piping hot we got it to go and the staff was nice when we went to go pick it up. The only thing is it was a salt bomb so at times certain bites were getting a little too overwhelming. I can't remember if we finished our meal but it didn't taste bad it just was a bit too salty. Best Chinese fast food! Food is fresh made to order and packed full for you to enjoy. One of their plates can probably feed 1-2 depending on your hunger level. I got to try the pepper beef and black bean fish with fried rice and both were delicious! You can taste that it has been wok fried which adds to the flavor. I also tried their crab cheese fried wontons and they were crispy and creamy, perfect little snack/appetizer. They have seating available or you can do takeout. I order-to go (and I had it picked up) I had 8 people we were feeding. So I ordered several items: Noodles, fried rice, general chicken, mixed vegetables, honey walnut prawns, sweet and sour pork, and Mongolian beef. Everything seemed fine until we opened all the items. Honey walnut prawns: tasted good but they only gave us (7) shrimp. Mongolian beef would had tasted great, if we actually got some beef in the dish. (It was all onions and a few mushrooms with a some hidden pieces of beef) very disappointing! And when I say all onions, I mean 98% white onions. I couldn't believe they gave this to us! They have tables but the food is packaged to go, plastic utensils, wooden chopsticks. We stopped in on a Wednesday around 6pm and it was BUSY with in person orders and to-go orders. The staff isn't overly friendly but they are extremely efficient. We ordered 4 plates (Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, General Chicken, and Honey Glazed Chicken) and Veggie Egg Rolls. EVERYTHING was delicious, great quality, and large portions for a reasonable price. PARKING: They have a shared parking lot but you won't have any problems finding a spot. We ordered a la carte Orange Chicken, General Tsao Chicken, and House Fried Rice. We were surprised to hear it would be ready so quickly in 5-10 minutes. Reviews tout the generous portion sizes, but we were still in shock at the weight of our order! So much chicken & so much steamed rice!!! The fried rice completely filled the container and was molded into the shape of the lid! We seriously weighed the fried rice and it was over 3.5 pounds! The food was good and satisfying. There were lots of nicely cooked proteins in the rice, but it would have been nice to find more veggies too. The chicken dishes weren't over battered. It was raining hard, friends were over, and we were hungry for some dinner. We decided to get take-out and have it delivered. Yes, it is a hefty upcharge for delivery, like anywhere, but it is worth the convenience. We also decided on Chinese, but frankly in our opinion there are very few quality places around these parts. After seeing reviews for this place, we decided to try it, and we're glad we did. The menu is quite extensive, yet you soon realize that there are the same variations of dishes for chicken, pork, beef, and shrimp, with some exceptions. One of us does not eat pork, and another can't eat spicy (not me), but we were able to still make a good selection to satisfy everyone. We decided on the largest 'family style' order, 4 entree choices, one side, and rice. For the entrees, we got chicken and veggie, basil chicken (spicy), black bean beef, and green been shrimp. For the side, chow mein. This appears to be a fast food, order at the counter type establishment, and family owned, apparently not a chain. The quality of everything was surprisingly very good, and the green bean shrimp a standout with everyone. The shrimp were lightly coated and succulent. All of the vegetables used in each dish were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Everything was flavorful and not greasy. The spice level was not as intense in the basil chicken as I would like it, but I should have asked for extra spice. The noodles in the chow mein were so delicious and flavorful I could have eaten that alone, lightly sauced with onions. We were both surprised and very pleased, plus the fact that the portions are enormous. There were two containers of each dish. The delivery went so smoothly, and everything arrived in time, well packaged, and boxed. One thing is for certain, I will go to this restaurant again for Chinese food. read more

Since I'm in the area, I visited the store and ordered the pepper beef bowls and got five pieces of very small portions. 90% of the meal is peppers, onions and rice. Not worth the money and who knows if it's really beef? read more
