We stopped by Smashburger the other day to grab dinner to go. We ordered two kids' meals, which each came with a burger, fries, and a drink, along with the Double Colorado Smash made with two Certified Angus Beef patties, pepper jack and cheddar cheese, grilled green chiles, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and a spicy chipotle bun. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating, and the customer service was top-notch. One of the managers took our order, and she was incredibly personable and helpful. When we mentioned it was our first visit, she patiently walked us through the menu and helped us decide what to order. We took everything home, and the whole family enjoyed their food. The kids' meals were very generously portioned, my husband really liked his Colorado Smash, and the fries were excellent--crispy, flavorful, and salted just right. Great food and even better service. The past two times the place is dirty inside, the burgers have been overly salty and not consistent. The last time the kids shake didn't come out - the guy who took our order came out halfway through us eating and said "oh I forgot, im sorry we'll get right on it" left and never came back. Hard pass. Much better burger joints around the area. We essentially came by simply to mark this spot off the local "to try" list and glad we could at least mark if off. Never again! Food is pretty bland, burgers were poorly done, wrong orders by the young dude taking orders, unnecessary lengthy wait time when they weren't even busy, tons of oil with brussels, and parking is quite cumbersome thanks to the businesses sharing the same lot (e.g., 24 hr fitness, Nuggets). Typical ambience for a burger joint, nothing out of the ordinary. Classic single and double smash? Bland and didn't even look tasty. Colorado smash? Super oily, dry meat, and bread was practically soaked in oil. Crispy brussels sprouts? Rainfall of oil and, again, super bland. Scorchin' hot crispy chicken sandwich? Couldn't tell ya, because we didn't realize until we got home that they got this order incorrect and instead packed a scorchin' mac & cheese burger. Refer to the photo as to how bad the burgers presentation was - look for yourself, pic is worth a 1000 words. Ordered take out. What did our receipt say? Dine in. Really not sure why the 2 1/2-star rating, cuz Hubs & I had absolutely NO complaints! Was the fantastic service & food only something that occurs on a Saturday afternoon?? I mean, TVs, cute Sac wall mural decor, even with cute shelves that showcase burger & milkshake books, plus...we noticed several USB plugs & outlets all along the window hightop seats AND some of the back wall seats! Also, it was super clean, and witnessed workers cleaning as we were sitting and eating! Employees greeted and gave well wishes as guests left. We ordered for delivery and had a cockroach crawled out of the container of tater tots. My husband called the store and spoke to an employee named Daniel who insisted that it was a sweet potato fry and then told us that his manager said that it's not their problem anyway and that we should take it up with DoorDash, even though the bags are sealed. In Rocklin for water polo. Picked this place for a few of the team members. Let me tell you, I thought burgers were just that, burgers. This was so yummy. I'm extremely disappointed with this Smashburger location. I tried ordering online at 9:13 PM (well before closing), but the system wasn't working. This forced me to drive 8 miles to place my order in person. I ordered a "create your own" double burger with no cheese, bacon, lettuce, pickles, and mustard, along with Smashfries. After waiting about 15 minutes, I took my food home (another 8 miles), only to find that they put cheese on my burger anyway. By the time I realized, it was 10:04 PM and the store was closed, so I had no way to fix the mistake. This is not the first time I've had issues with incorrect orders at this location, which makes it even more frustrating. I paid for food I could not eat the way I ordered it. At the very least, I expect a refund for this meal. Smashburger needs to improve both their online ordering system and order accuracy if they expect customers to keep coming back. read more

Arrived a half hour before closing. It was clear the staff did not want to serve us so close to closing time on a Saturday night. They said we couldn't dine in or order shakes, that they had already started doing the trash and end of night routine, and then seemed annoyed when we decided to order anyways. BWE and our son (and I) decided to get lunch here and dine inside. The inside was very clean with background music playing. In some burger spots the music is way too loud but here it was just right. I ordered the Classic Smash with added jalapeños and the Smash Fries. BWE ordered the CS but lettuce-wrapped and sweet potato fries and my son got the All American with no smash sauce and regular fries. Service takes some time because they make everything fresh which was nice. The wait staff was very good. Once our order was up, it was delivered to our table. We all liked what we ordered. I had no idea there was a Smashburger tucked away in this complex until recently. As a burger fan I actually hadn't tried this chain before, so I stopped in. I saw the order was received but not being prepared at all. 15min later I walked in the store and right after I walked in, I saw the order being canceled. My guess is they did not see the order so they just cancelled, or the system automatically cancels when they don't acknowledge within 15min. Never will return. My wife went there to order food to go. After waiting over 30 minutes inside, she went the the counter to see what was taking so long. Our order was ready and sitting there, but no one told her. She got to the car only to realize half the order was missing. She had to go back in and have them get the rest. By the time she made it home, all the food was cold. Her milkshake was room temp and melted. And we were still missing stuff. I contacted the company online to let them know about the service and request a refund. They told me they issued a refund. 2 weeks later, still nothing. I do not recommend going to this location. We thought burgers sounded good tonight so we decided to hit up Smashburger since it's not too far from the house. We ordered a classic smashburger and a specialty brisket and cheddar Smashburger. We ordered smash fries and sweet potato fries to accompany our burgers. The person taking our order was very friendly and knowledgeable, she turned out to be the Assistant Manager. The place was pretty clean, with nice music playing in the background at a good volume; the food came out pretty quickly and tasted pretty good. When I went to use the restroom I was a little surprised and confused. The signage was just a little contradictory. I'm all for unisex restrooms; but here they have two restrooms, one has a men's sign next to the door and the other has a women's sign next to the door, but on both doors a unisex sign is mounted. My daughter enjoyed her Certified Angus Beef patty, nice melty American cheese, on a nice toasted bun! Her favorite was of course the French fries and she downed her Horizon Organic Low-fat Milk! I first discovered Smashburger over 10 years ago in the Las Vegas area. It quickly became one of my favorite burger chains then, and remains so now. This new location recently popped up on my radar - now the closest to my home - so I made a point of checking it out. If you know Smash, you know not every menu is exactly the same. There's a core offering, then each location adds some specialty items. The Colorado Burger caught my eye as one of those specialty items. It's got pepper jack cheese as well as cheddar cheese... grilled anaheim chiles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo on a chipotle bun. Sounded like a heaping helping of southwest flavor - and it didn't disappoint. The high quality certified Angus beef was seared to perfection on the high temp grill... GREAT burger. On the side, I tried the tots this time. I'm pretty sure this was the first time I've had tots at Smash. They have the same great rosemary garlic seasoning that the fries do - in my opinion, the flavor is enhanced in the tots (I stole a few of my friend's fries to make sure). We sat outside on the patio which was nice except for the wind. If the wind is a consistent problem at this location, hopefully they'll look into putting up some sort of fence or foliage as a wind break. We did our best to keep napkins and other light items stuffed under something heavy but a few still managed to make a run for it and we had to chase them across the parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised by our experience, and found our dinner fantastic. I had a burger with avocado and bacon, and my partner had a burger wrapped in lettuce. My burger came out perfect. I have always been suspect of avocado because it is a higher cost condiment, and what I can say is they included a generous amount of avocado and bacon. The burger came hot and was delicious. I also had sweet potato fries and they came piping hot crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. They were great. My wife had a burger "wrapped" in lettuce. However, it was actually "deconstructed" but came with great condiments and looked great and tasted better. Along with this, she ordered the tots. They were tasty and a great option. The service was great. The food came fast and the people serving us were happy, and helpful. The restaurant was clean and all of the items that were self serve were stocked and easy to access. For the value, I was impressed that the cost was quite competitive with peers and along with the overall experience, they will become a go-to if they continue to provide this type of experience. Woodcreek Oaks location The Smashburger located in the Ridge at Creekside (next to BJ's) has been closed for sometime now. This is a fairly new store that opened up in the Nugget Market shopping plaza on Blue Oaks Blvd. My teen and I decided to try it out since I miss having their Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger. There was no one at the registers when I walked in. All the team members were busy in the kitchen fulfilling orders. There were quite a few customers waiting. All the reviews that gave one-stars seemed to complain about the wait time to receive their food. So let's see... My wait time was having someone come to the register to take my order. Ahh... thank you, Matisse (name of host on my receipt). I placed my order for a Single Truffle Mushroom Burger. Time stamp: 2:22p. After a little bit of wait my name was called and I proceeded to pick up my order contained in a sealed paper bag. Before I ate my burger/food I always take pictures. Apple Time stamp: 2:29p. Well, to me that wasn't so bad a wait (7 mins total). Service was good from when I placed my order to when I received it so I really had no complaints. My visit was on a Sunday afternoon. And, oh, btw, my burger was delicious (though a bit on the salty side). We tried ordering a second time to see if we'd get the same speed on our second order.
