I usually come here 2:30 AM or 5:30 AM since those are the times I am on my way home. When I come at 2:30 AM, they said they're doing maintenance or they don't even answer. At 5:30 AM, especially today, no one spoke until we went into the drive thru again. The lady gave attitude and said they're down due to maintenance. We asked if maintenance is 2:30 AM to 5:30 AM because they constantly always have maintenance done and don't even bother answering. I don't recommend coming here because the lady has poor attitude. My partner and I have come to this Carl's Jr at 5:20 -5:30 before and there wasn't maintenance prior but lately they've been having "maintenance." read more

Excellent customer service, they really went above and beyond to make sure that we all received the correct items that we ordered. One of the servers even made sure to wipe down the clean table that was already clean before us, even sitting down. They checked to see how we enjoyed the food. By far one of the worst fast food places along all of I-5 corridor. I'm so disappointed! I don't frequent Carl's Jr / Green Burrito. I just know in the past I've not been a big fan of their burgers flavor. So with that in mind,I ordered a simple crunchy beef taco: $1.99. For that, I'd expect at least a halfway decent taco. I mean really, how do you screw up a taco!? Well good job... they did. It was small, chewy shell with some weird texture mystery meat that fell apart every attempt to bite into. Ugh! Thank goodness for what looked like a fairly fresh salsa bar with diced tomatoes and onions and cilantro (Pico de Gallo). Also there were yellow peppers, onion cilantro mix, onions, cilantro and a hot sauce. They don't have any in between sauces and the only package hot sauce they have is Chulua. (Which I got 5 packs of for my one tiny taco). My husband ordered the western bacon cheeseburger combo. The order of fries were very short changed. Sad and pathetic! After he watched me struggle with my taco he shared his burger with me... yup just as I remember them. They are just WEIRD tasting! We waited an exceptionally long time and before we got there, there were no other people waiting. When we left there was at least 6 other guys waiting with a befuddled look on their faces, wondering the same thing we were thinking.... WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG!! And lastly, our server, male with bleached blonde hair, was friendly until we were finishing our pick up transaction and he offered us ketchup and Chulua and we thought he was interacting with us (i mean he was looking right at us all but two feet from each other) but he was actually talking to someone over the headset intercom. Sigh. Like...thanks,.. you're welcome,.. eat rocks. Only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is the bathroom was clean. The restaurant itself, although I watched them sweep and mop, still just didn't look or even feel clean. Tables were not wiped down. We had a good meal at this location. We just went with two famous stars with cheese meals. Everything tasted fresh. Bread was chewy, condiments were fresh, meat was charbroiled perfectly, and the fries were on point. For me it means, fluffy in the inside and crunchy on the outside. Even my sprite soda was zesty and crisp. The lady that assisted us at the drive thru was also very friendly and our order was prepared in a fast timely matter. This location is in a low key area in Westley, CA right off the I5. Easy access from either location. read more

DO NOT eat here! While waiting for my order, I stepped away to use the restroom. There were no paper towels nor was the hand dryer working. When I approached the cashier, she was yelling out my order number and shoved the bag of food to me. I told her they're out of napkins in the restroom and asked her if I could have more. She snapped at me right away and said there's a lot of napkins in my bag. With my wet hands, I opened the bag and saw TWO napkins! When I pulled them out, they were all greasy from the fries. Needed some breakfast on the road from Sacramento to Los Angeles. Stopped here mainly because unlike the other MAJOR Hamburger Place - Carl's does't ONLY serve Breakfast items in the morning, and my wonderful wife, doesn't like breakfast - she wants a burger in the morning. So I had the sausage, egg and cheese biscuits (2) and a large coffee. She had the Western Bacon Cheeseburger Combo with large fries (to share). My biscuit sandwiches were good. The biscuits are a little over done but I enjoyed the nonetheless. The coffee was okay, but better than the cup I had at a gourmet coffee shop in Reno two days prior. My wife's Western Bacon was served on the "New Bun." The burger itself was fine - normal for Carl's but she said she prefers the old bun. The fries were fresh and hot. Nothing much was open and then there suddenly in the distance like a beacon of hope in the distance the yellow star shown brightly. I quickly pulled over and strolled on in. I was greeted by a nice young man who introduced me to Time Magazine's Summer of 2013 Must-Taste Fast Food List: Where get this their San Diego Burrito had made the top ten! I'm going to set this up for you by sharing an excerpt from OCFoodies Magazine: "We are always on the look-out for the latest Mexican food trends for our Green Burrito menu and we loved this one that we ran across in the San Diego area," said John Koncki, director of product development at Carl's Jr. and Green Burrito. "Down there near the border, many Mexican restaurants offer steak burritos with French fries in them so, of course, we had to try them and they were great! The French fries go really well with the taste of marinated steak, freshly prepared guacamole and salsa, adding a nice crunch and potato flavor to the burritos. Ordered a double breakfast burger, lettuce wrapped. Noticed halfway through the burger that they forgot the hash brown nuggets, so I brought it back to the cashier. I heard no complaints or half-baked excuses or offers to just give hash brown nuggets on the side, they just told me they'd remake and give me the burger I ordered. Mistakes happen, which is fine, I just really appreciate this Carl's Jr in the middle of nowhere during Thanksgiving weekend for handling it properly. Not bad little stop after sitting in hours of traffic. But our legs were in pain! When we saw the sign for Carl's jr we jumped with excitement. Being out south we have more Hardee's. But totally still worth going for us. Parking lot was a little full, but totally understandable since there's a lot of traffic. Luz was a wonderful worker, no mess ups at all. To all those I-5 travelers looking for a decent place to eat along your journey... DO NOT EAT AT THIS Carl's Jr. (or any other Carl's Jr. for that matter!)! I don't normally review restaurants, especially fast food restaurants, but thought my fellow travelers would want to know about our experience. We went into the McDonald's hoping to find a somewhat healthy meal. Couldn't find a salad or grilled chicken sandwich, so we decided to stroll down a few driveways to Carl's Jr. (should've stayed at McDonald's or gone into the mini-market instead). We ordered a grilled chicken salad and a grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken, about a 1/4" thick, dry as all could be and tough like leather, was doused in this horrible tasting BBQ sauce. Must've been sitting under heat lamps for hours. The grilled chicken salad.... the same type/quality piece of chicken. And for whatever reason, had the same crappy sauce, even though it didn't state that on the menu! The salad was this dry bed of lettuce packed tight into a container, with cheap Mexican style cheese one would buy out of a bag, two pieces of non-ripened tomatoes and two red onions. The airtight croutons were good though. Within 15-mins of heading back up I-5, we both felt lousy and burping like crazy (no idea what was in the BBQ sauce). Couldn't drink enough water to drown out what we had just eaten. And the best part, we paid almost $20.00 for that wonderful meal. Sigh.... read more

On our way back from a trip we stopped here early morning to buy some food. We came through the drive-thru, which was taking a very long time, there were a couple of cars before us. The cashier was nice but when we got our food, which did not take long by the way, the bag ripped because they stuffed everything in there instead of giving us another bag, which there is nothing wrong with that. After it ripped i had to open my car door because everything fell down and she just looked out of the window and did not say anything to me. She could have at least offered to give me a new bag, or the condiments that fell out of the bag, or apologized that it happened. I was just in shock that there was not any niceness. I stopped here needed some human refueling early in the morning after a long time on the road and decided on Carl's Jr as they have 24 hour service and the food is better grade than most fast food. But I don't give five stars in regards to the quality of the food, but for the amazing service I received at an ungodly hour from Stephanie who was working. From the intercom to the handing me of my order, she was pleasant and delightful and it's something that is lost in a lot of eateries and so I wanted to give credit where credit was due. If you're driving on the 5 freeway, stop here for food as they have trained their staff to be courteous and pleasant and it will make you feel a little better when having to get back on the road. read more
