These guys saved the day! Went to the dealership for my last free oil change included after buying a new car. Of course they gave me a long list of other recommended car maintenance things I would need to pay for - including new tires. They were trying to charge me $1300 for my set of tires- and that was even with a special "promotion": buy three and get one for $1 (wtf). Only after I said I would pass did they tell me they would price match. Uh huhh. Called these guys and they offered me the same tires for over half the dealership's quote and accommodated me for same day service (even when short staffed for the holidays). I was happy they had them in stock too. They were so friendly and accommodating. It's refreshing when an auto place doesn't try to exploit a woman's lack of car knowledge when she comes in. Went to get a new tire from these guys to replace a flat I had, they sent me off with a new tire, and on my way home from work I had gotten another flat tire because the valve stem was broken. Had to pull over and take off the wheel to use a spare, as I was taking it off they over tightened one of the lug nuts and made me snap a stud. After snapping it I had returned to them and they gave me a new one and they told me they'd replace the stud, after inspecting the rotor I noticed they did not put back any rotor screws. This location used to be Big O Tires. Now it is Carlsbad Tire Pros. Same building, same equipment, mostly the same people. Same waiting room that looks like all of its furniture came from a thrift store. But new name. I've dealt with them for years and have always been delighted. Today I had a crisis with a ruined front tire on my Volkswagen EV. The size that it needed was unusual. The manager explained to me that if I wanted a good price I was going to have to wait until Monday. I explained to him that I was going to lose a lot of money if I didn't have a working van this weekend and that I would be willing to pay more for quick service. He understood, and figured out where he could get same-day delivery on tires that would work. When you replace a front-wheel tire with a new variety, you have to change both of them even if only one side is ruined, so I needed two unusual-sized tires in a big hurry. I got them. My car was towed in on a big flatbed tow truck, but I drove out with a smile on my face, two new Michelin Crossclimate-2 tires on my front wheels, and a a larger Visa balance. I am thinking about going back on a non-emergency basis to get my rear tires replaced with Crossclimate-3's. They are pretty great. read more

Best shop ever. Look nowhere else. Curtis and his team are OUTSTANDING. I have been going there for years (started when they were BigO Tires, and they've kept many of the same people) - and refer them whenever possible to anyone who is looking. Put it this way, if I moved hours away, I would make a point of driving back to this shop for my regular maintenance because to me auto work can be very stressful elsewhere and I trust these guys so much to do excellent work, to always be up front about what I do/don't need and when, to have excellent protection on tire purchases, and to be charming, delightful, and no nonsense all around. It's located in a cool area to walk around with a library less that 20 minutes walk away and the beach and coffee shops and lots of restaurants also in walking distance. Had been going here 25 years to support Village businesses, since 1998 when it was Big O tires. Similar to the LT customer Ingrior review, no issues until now. Ownership has changed and the bait and switch has taken over. They convinced my wife to purchase 4 Run Flat Tires for nearly $2,000 for her Lexus - beware anyone with fancier cars. I drive an old Volvo which helps keep me from getting taken as much. I had never paid over $600 for 2 pairs of tires - this was 200% higher. One of the tires popped and they told her she needed to replace all of them and pay another $2,000. I said no way so they replaced one of them and they charged her $500. We went to Costco and they offered a Run Flat for $300. Finally, the Lexus dealership replaced 1 tire for $300 - got a deal from a dealership, that was a first! I finally went in myself to understand what the heck was going on... The first thing they said, was, "So what if you have been a customer since 1998, you expect a discount?" Next, they blamed my wife for not knowing what she was doing with her tires. I asked for the owner, who was eating at the end of the counter, and he told me, "Get out of my store, we do not want your business." When I asked why they charged $2,000 for 4 tires, he got upset, stood up and walked up to me and forced me to leave his store. I felt physically threatened (with 2 men inside and 1 outside) so I got in my wife's car and got the heck out of there. I found myself with a flat tire after leaving at 5 PM. Didn't know what to do drove to the nearest gas station and their air machine was out of service so I continued and found tire pros.. It was 5:20 and they were closed, but the guys were still around. I asked if they could look at my flat tire. He could've turned me away, but he didn't. he went to the back of his shop to look to see if he had a used tire he could put on but unfortunately he didn't so he put my spare on for me so that I could drive back to San Diego.... I recently had two tires installed by Carlsbad tire pros. I don't have the most expensive aftermarket wheels, but they are decently nice. Historically, every shop I would go to would end up nicking one of my wheels during install or removal process. I found a speed shop in San Diego that I have been taking my wheels and tires to for the last four or five years. I just didn't have the time anymore to go from Carlsbad so I started searching for a new shop to install my tires. I called Carlsbad tire pros and asked if they are able to install tires without damaging my wheels and they said yes. So I decided to give them a try last week. I'm happy to say they did exactly what they said they would do and installed my tires without damaging my wheels. On top of that the service I received from Curtis and their team was excellent. I had very special requirements for where the wheel weights needed to be placed in order to clear my brake calipers and I did a poor job explaining. When I went to pick up my wheels, I noticed the weights were not in the correct spot and it was completely my fault. After explaining my issues, Curtis took my wheels back inside without hesitation and redid the balancing. When I got my wheels back, the weights were in the correct locations and they removed any old residue that would've been left when removing the other weights. On top of that, they didn't charge me any extra fees, which I really appreciated. Thanks for the great service. I will be back. read more

My previous experience with tire places was never great. Long wait times, expensive, soooo crowded. I came to Carlsbad pro tire with a nail in my tire, didn't call ahead, just walked in and I walked out within 30 minutes with my tire repaired and at a very affordable cost. I went back for a set of new tires and Eric was so nice and helpful and they gave me a great price!! And it was relatively quick! I cannot recommend this place enough. We had been taking our cars here since it was Big OTires. The quality of service has certainly dropped since. In the last year or so, I had an oil leak that kept returning, and I kept taking it here, spent over $1,000 and days off work just to take it there and leaving my car there for days, until my last visit when they charged me for putting a dye to estimate where the leak was coming from, no service, no parts changed, nothing was done to it. I basically paid for the service of putting a dye in the gasket, and they took half the day for that. I didn't return, but rather took my car to another shop in Vista (after a few weeks) where they determined the issue in 10 minutes (not because of the dye but because they took time to look at my car and didn't charge me a cent) and resolved the issue within 1 week at a fair price. I had taken my car to Carlsbad Pros for the same issue over a year! They had replaced the parts that the new shop had to work on. Turned out the main issue was due to the past work done where the gasket was not sealed properly, they had also damaged certain areas that created oil leaks from 3 different parts. Made me wonder what the heck did I paid for all the times I took it to the Tire Pros? Needless to say the leak has now stopped and I will never take my car to the Carlsbad Tires Pro again.
