As the garage is also a primary way we access going in and out of the house I wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. I called "Doors and More" and although Greg had a number of calls scheduled for the day, he fit me in and got us up and running again immediately (same day). I was super impressed with his work. He was knowledge, professional and courteous. He carefully sized the replacement springs to match our requirements and ensured everything was done properly. He did not just assume the broken spring that was removed was correctly sized. When I asked him about that he explained that it was not an original spring and so he always sizes what he installs himself so that he knows what is installed meets requirements. This involved weighing the door and interfacing with a sizing app to precisely match the replacement spring to what was needed. I can't say enough about how positive this experience was. If you are looking for someone to do garage door maintenance, I would highly recommend Greg.

Sunday morning I tried the default Overhead Door Co. who first told me they could come out that day, only to call me back and state they don't do residential on Sundays.... OOOOkay. Hit up the search engine to see what I could find and DaM came up as nearby with Sunday hours. Called, left a message and had a return call within 2-3 min. Gave Greg the rundown and he said he could be at my place with 45 min... and he was. Pleased and impressed. He had the (proper) springs replaced and was extremely personable and explained how everything worked and why the spring broke in the first place. These guys replied, then said they 'Don't use home depot products and don't give quotes for storm damage" when asked why the guy chuckled and said "are you an existing customer?" I said "no. I have no idea why they contacted me and locked up my Home Depot referral if they don't do storm damage and don't work with new customers. Such garbage. Based on reviews, we were very excited to work with Arrow Fence. Scott came out to measure and we received initial plans for our fence about a week later, informing us that they were scheduling 10 weeks out from the date of down payment. Upon noticing several errors to what we requested for our job on the original plans, we asked for a requote. Scott returned several weeks later and remeasured for the requote which was delivered in a timely manner. We are now about 1 month from the 1st visit. Two weeks after the visit for the requote we had still not received our quote or contract, despite multiple attempts at contact. Upon speaking with another member of the company 5 days ago we were told that Scott would be contacted that day and the contract would be sent to us that day. It was not. We tried calling every day after that and got voicemail or no response. Finally got a voicemail returned today to be told that Scott had gone on vacation starting today and would be gone for several weeks. We were also informed that scheduling was now being done 3-4 months after the deposit was placed. Because Scott is the only person that has any of our information and he is now on vacation for several weeks, we were told that we would not be able to put our deposit down and schedule our job until he returned. Our job that should have started at the beginning of February (weather permitting) is now being pushed until the beginning of May. To top it all off, almost everyone that we spoke to outside of Scott has been exceedingly rude and unconcerned with how our project has proceeded in such a slow and chaotic manner. Although our project may have been small (~$25,000), they really showed their true colors and how little they care about their customers. Our family now has to start this entire process over again with a new company, in the middle of winter with a foot of snow on the ground, having lost MONTHS of time and energy to a company that was entirely unconcerned about their poor service. I understand that companies like these are very busy right now, but how you treat people when times are less than ideal is the true measure of who you are. Arrow Fence does not measure up.

Having no idea on the hardware manufacturer, I called Carefree to inquire so I could get a replacement part. They informed me the installation has a lifetime warranty and offered to schedule a free onsite replacement. Of course I accepted their offer. The technician arrived on time and took care of the issue in short order. He was pleasant and professional when I asked him a few related questions. As he was leaving he told me "call us if you have any other issues, we'll come out and take care of them for you." Overall, a very pleasant experience.

They seemed less than interested in helping, but did look at a picture of the door and based on the brand that I had they indicated that they didn't cover that brand. They referred me to Wood & Wood (e.g. R.F. Wood Door). From the first call that I had with the wife (this seems to be a husband/wife duo), Wood and Wood could not have been more helpful and professional. They looked at the pictures I sent, they assessed what might be involved, and they very quickly came to the house to assess things first hand. When coming to my house they realized that they could fix things substantially by bending the main support back. It doesn't look perfect, but the door works and you have to look pretty hard to see the damage. AND, they only charged me for 1/2 a service call ($45) vs the nearly $2k I'd have to spend on a new door. Call Wood and Wood! They are excellent!
