Veal/Eggplant Parm was Delicious! Cooked perfectly. Extra Sauce on the side for me!

If you are looking for authentic 5 star Boston Italian food, look no further. The original restaurant was in The North End for over 30 years and has relocated here. Tomato Sauce: 10 out of 10. Sweet, but not too sweet, tasty and flavorful. The chef makes an awesome Marsala sauce and delicious Sorrento sauce as well. Try them all. Food is super consistent, we've had it dozens of times and actually had them cater our company with about 5-60 people every month for the past few years. Everyone leaves full and happy. Definitely try the: Shrimp Dipeppo Chicken Parm, Veal Parm, Eggplant parm combo (I order 2 to take home) Clams Casino Pollo Carmalino! Chicken Francese is awesome. The meatballs are delicious too! Also fresh homemade pasta options as well! Seriously, if you want to taste Authentic Original North End Italian, this is likely one of the last ones in existence! Do NOT miss it. OG Epic.

The pasta special, chicken & spinach in a garlic cream sauce before

Wow wow wow, why is this delicious Italian restaurant in Saugus?! (no offense). This was surprisingly delicious and I ate every bite of my meal. A few friends and I went to catch a movie but wanted to grab a bite to eat before hand. One friend suggested this place, and I cannot thank her enough!! This felt like a tin hole in the wall, and when we walked it, it felt so warm and homey. We were seated, given some bread/oil and waters to start. Even if you're on a diet, you need to try some bread with oil, it has a little parmesan cheese in it, which just pairs so beautifully. We all ordered, one got the calamari, one got a chicken caesar salad, and two of us ordered the pasta special of the night. The special, chicken cutlet strips, cheese and spinach in a creamy garlic sauce, needs to PERMANENTLY be on the menu. It was creamy, cheesy, and better than I expected. Our waitress was such a sweetheart, and suggested that pasta to us because it was her favorite. I am hoping that means that it is regularly on the special lists. My friends also commented that the calamari was good, as was the salad. I was the only one to eat all of my food, because well, being an Italian I can't NOT eat all my pasta. Can't wait to bring my family and other friends here, just so I can eat some more pasta. God bless pasta.

Came here a few times with my wife and once with my friends and have to say every time I did the food service and atmosphere were all great. I always get the garlic bread with cheese and shrimp scampi appetizers that's automatic and I'm never disappointed I like lot of garlic and it's perfect. I've had the pork chops w vinegar peppers and roasted potatoes the chicken perm I've had chicken Marsala also had the chicken special Dipeppo always left full and satisfied. Food was fresh cooked to perfection and all served exactly right times no rushing or delay just perfect. Servers were friendly engaging but also let us enjoy our meals without too many interruptions although they did make sure our drinks were always full and we were satisfied with everything. Definitely a must try

WOW! I have NEVER been spoken to as rudely as I just was by the woman that just answered the phone at this establishment. I made an order online through doordash. Turns out the restaurant I ordered it from (their Express location next door) has been closed, I don't wonder why having just experienced the way they treat their customers. She says they have nothing to do with door dash. Ok, I get that. But you DO have something to do with your google business page, you CAN call door dash and notify them that the other location closed. You can list the location that IS open properly with the service. She says she has people from door dash calling them all the time upset. No kidding! You've got your restaurant that is no longer open listed as open. Of course they are calling you people are placing orders for food from the place thinking they are ordering from the main restaurant that is still open because that is what it says on the site. I have literally been sitting here waiting for food for two hours that I paid for and she hangs up the phone on me when I try to explain to her how the internet works and why there is a problem. I own two businesses the correct way to handle that would have been to make my order and apologize for the inconvenience. I live in town, I eat out all the time. I will NEVER visit this location again for how rude this woman just was to me. So much for ordering food at home for a stress free Saturday night! Unbelievable! Will also add if EVER an employee of mine spoke to a customer that way she would not be walking through my door again. If that was the business owner I am disgusted. I am really absolutely dumbfounded right now over how I was just treated at a supposedly nice establishment. Also just got an email that I have to wait 5-7 business days for my $70 refund from DoorDash. Ridiculous.

Glass of chianti. Meatballs. House salad drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Eggplant and chicken parmigiana. Penne pasta. Food was quite tasty. Large portions. Most of my meal is traveling home. Toni at the bar was spot on terrific and a family member of this family run restaurant. I'll def be back.

We have two little picky eaters and needed convenience, access to parking, and spacious and friendly for toddlers. We thoroughly enjoy Ciao Amici and have been going pretty regularly for the last 2 years. Our usual are the meatballs and carbonara for the kids. For awhile, it was the only way I could get my youngest to eat any protein. It is tender and has the right amount of spices for my youngest to gobble up. The two of them always share the carbonara and slurp it right up. Lastly, my oldest has recently become obsessed with their sauteed mussels and I literally have to negotiate with her to let me eat one. I love the saffron garlic white wine sauce, it is very garlicy and goes so well with the warm bread that they give you. My husband and I have tried a lot of their pasta and seafood with risotto dishes. Recently he has also ventured into their main dishes and still enjoyed it. Overall, great flavors, pasta is al dente, and the perfect portion where you don't feel overly stuffed by the end of the meal. We've tried a few of the places in the North End, and I would say Ciao Amici definitely is on par if not better than some of the places in the North End, plus they have a small parking lot that we've always had access to. My personal favorites are the Spaghetti Shrimp Scampi and Haddock e Risotto. The servers are always attentive and considerate. The -1 star comes from the pace of service. We usually go on the early side and don't have trouble but the few times we've gone when it was a bit busier, we noticed that the food can take awhile to come out and although I am confident everyone is working hard, they may not always be staffed appropriately when t's busy. Lastly, we did order a salad once and it was definitely no frills, but that was exactly how it was stated on the menu. I would not go there for the salad.

My wife and I made a reservation for a Saturday night and upon arrival were seated immediately. To…read morestart, we ordered a perfectly cooked octopus antipasti, followed by tortellini alla norcina, and for a secondi the vitello alla petroniana (we were debating between this pasta/secondi combination and the pasta bolognese/swordfish special - will have to come back to get these next time!). I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.
