Now I remember why never to trust used car lots !!! Should trust a politician than this place any day, any time ! In the course of 3 days, I spent over 12 hours of my precious time in this hell hole in Miami. This was my daughter's 1st venture to buy a car on her own, I basically was there to lend moral support - or so I thought. We started on Saturday May 19th. My daughter saw an automobile she liked but wasn't convinced , not to mention this place had been the 1st and only place we had been. The salesperson was , to say the least pushy. She pulled every classic trick to keep my daughter's interest and time, even going so far as bringing in her manager. We finally left the evening with check $ 1500 in good faith to hold the automobile . I explained very clearly that we would be back the next day with our final answer and not to cash this check as I knew it had insufficient funds. Sunday came and we went back to the dealership at 10:30am. My daughter decided she wanted the car so we proceeded through what we thought was the primary purchase process. Little did we realize that the salesperson had already processed the paperwork the day before when we had given the good faith "hold" check so I was a bit take aback, not to mention straight out skeptical with this company at that point. Carmax hasa policy that the.y purchaser has 3 days to find their own financing if they wish than that offered by the dealership. On Monday my daughter and I returned to the dealership with the documentation with the new financing, not to mention a flat tire on my daughter's automobile !!! Everything when spiraling out of control after this !!! I was at the dealership from 10:00 am to 4pm, returning again at 7pm with my daughter. First problem was they could not complete the processing of my purchase with my new financing information. Problem was that since their system showed that I had technically (and unbeknown) to me purchased the car twice, there was some time of internal security issue in their computer system that would not allow the automobile to be purchased again !!! I had at least 3 different people apologizing and offering all types of offers (free oil change, free lunch, etc) for my inconvenience of being at the place so many hours. I got to a point that I really didn't give a damn and just walked out of the place and down the street. My husband finally found me 3 miles away from the dealership walking down the street - I truly needed some time to compose myself before I beat someone senseless back at the dealership. The second issue was the servicing of vehicles. I stated earlier my daughter got a flat tire on the automobile that all she had done thus far is leave the lot and go home. The car took 4 days to get back - it took them this long to get a tire all the way from, get this........broward county !!! The automobile is now in their possession since Monday , June 4th. My daughter had purchased to have her car seats replace from cloth to leather. I guess since my horrific experience a couple of weeks ago, the service manager calls me at least once a day with the status of the car. What should have taken 2 days is now up to 3 days and they're not expecting the car to be ready til Friday !!! I guess they don't know the phrase "time is money" . They've sure taken allot of mine but trust me it will be the last. As for those "good faith" free oil changes they gave us for our inconvenience is waiting to long for just about everything, I sure know what I would like them to lube up !!!!! read more

I went in to see about the "we'll buy your car even if you don't buy ours" thing. They appraised my car, told me everything was excellent (the highest rank on their appraisal sheet) the only thing was that I have an aftermarket radio. I was feeling encouraged, and while I waited for them, they had computers in the lobby so I used the black book appraisal site. What CarMax offered me for my car was FAR below the worst price on that site. The guy explained they're in business, yeah, I got that from the sign. But I reminded him I used the trade in value not the private party value. Anyways, long story short I'm listing on ebay, and won't return to CarMax. Thanks! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I purchased a 2015 BMW 3-Series in October 2017, under the assumption that my car had run flat tires, as is the case with newer BMWs. When I got a flat two months later, I didn't worry too much, as I was sure I was driving on runflats, which let you drive for 50 miles after you've gotten a flat tire. I waited until the next morning to get my tire changed. When I got to Braman, the service technician asked why I didn't have runflats.... excuse me? Upon further inspection, NONE of the tires on my car were run flat. I had him give me this in writing and I went straight to Carmax. At first, a service person tried to tell me this is normal, that they sell the cars in the condition they have them in, tires included. But I wasn't having that, so a nice sales person was able to pull up the listing for my car and there it said it RUN FLAT TIRES. Meaning, I was lied to about the product I was sold. When I brought this up to management, they redirected me to the service department, who said they could change my three non run flat tires. Why only three? Well because I had just purchased a brand new run flat tire at Braman a few hours ago, due to the flat I had. I said no, the price of my car includes FOUR run flat tires. I'd like to get reimbursed for the tire I had to purchase out of pocket. After some back and forth, they agreed to this. Why did I even have to ask for this in the first place!? It should have been common courtesy. This was in January 2018. It's now March and I have yet to receive a reimbursement or even as much as a formal apology from ANYONE at Carmax. I have had to call them 6 times to follow up on the reimbursement. "We'll call you right back" they always say. I have not received ONE phone call from them ever. As a business owner myself, I would be bending over backwards to fix a situation like this. I have grounds for a lawsuit, as they sold my a faulty product which put me in danger, but for now all I want is my reimbursement, and for everyone reading this article to please be aware of their horrible service and to save themselves the headache and to go ANYWHERE else to purchase a car. It's NOT worth it. I will never make this mistake ever again. read more

My wife and I purchased a car at CarMax in November. Within the first 24 hours the A/C unit went out (on a car with only 27K miles). We brought the car back to have it worked on, and spent over a week and a half in the shop. We tried to call the service department several times to inquire about the car and each time would get forwarded to a voicemail or would be transferred and hung up on (we were hung up on by the service department on 3 separate occasions). Our salesman was excellent, however the issues with service were more than unpleasant. We returned the car and purchased elsewhere We will not be purchasing any future cars with CarMax. read more

I have had an all around nightmare experience with Carmax. I traded in my old car and they sold me a broken car, then made it very difficult to get my trade-in back, even trying to hold it ransom until I threatened legal action, upon which they magically "unsold" my car and returned it to me. Never going back. Not to mention, carmax was going to give me $3,000 for my car. I sold it on craigslist instead for $5,500. Avoid this, and save yourself some money. read more

I went on Saturday to get my car appraised, I have after market fog lights that were $150.00 and they probably did not think I would notice. So those as*holes stole one of them. When I went back the joke of a manager of course refused everything stating the person who appraised my car drove a jeep or some sh*t. I don't care what he drives, he stole my fog light. They told me file a police report if I want there is nothing they will do and of course they have no cameras. I will never ever buy a vehicle from these animals. read more

I have bought a few cars from carmax over the years the sales team are not pushy and they have a good selection and easy no hassle process. I have seen them decline a bit over the years and this is why they get a 3 instead of 5 for me. The cars seem to be more used than they used to be in the past and seems they choose more auction vehicles than nicer ones i have bought before. I travel a lot and did not want the hassle of dealing with craigslist over an extended time period while trying to sell my car. A dealer recommended I go to Carmax in Doral. I had a 2010 high mileage vehicle in great shape with a clear title. I walked in and was told there would be a 30min wait and the vehicle appraisal would take 1 hour. The entire process took less than 1 hour and I walked out with a check. I would have liked to have gotten a little more for the vehicle, but when you consider the time, irritation and hassle of selling your car on the street or online, it was well worth it. My customer service rep, Juan, made the entire process smooth and simple. I got less than Edmunds listed trade-in value considering how nice my car was, but I was still very happy with the price. I have purchased 11 cars from CarMax since 2005 ^had a car shipped from their Orlando store- 2017 model with 600 miles!!!! ^went to get my car (trade-in) appraised & draw up an invoice on the 2017 car I was buying ^this process took 2 hours just to get an appraisel & invoice ^the interest rates received from CarMax Doral was very high. Told them I was going to my bank & get a better rate ^received a call from the salesman that evening to see what rate I was able to obtain. Told him bank was closed & need to do it the following day ^Received a call from CarMax the next morning asking me when I was coming to the store to complete the transaction. ***This is my 1st time buying from Doral - I have sold cars at Doral previously \*** This is the 1st time I have ever seen HIGH PRESSURE sales tactics coming from CarMax total turn off & unexpected ^Space Coast Credit Union gave me an outstanding rate. They drew up all the proper documents & emailed & faxed to CarMax at least 1 hour prior to me going back to that store. All I had to do was finalize the trade & sign their papers. ^I called CarMax 2 hours prior to arriving at their store & asked to have all the paperwork ready that I was at the bank & will be there ASAP ^I arrived at CarMax & nothing was done. The process took an additional 3+ hours. ^a total of 5 hours at CarMax & they weren't even doing the financing ^They removed the wheel lock & no owners manual on a brand new car. I was told to order 1 & they will reimburse me The Doral Store is extremely disorganized & treat you like you are just a number I purchased the car 4/20/17 & still have not heard from the Salesman thanking me for the purchase. The worst car buying experience I have ever experienced. Liars, unprofessional, bad business ethics, the list goes on. I purchased a 2013 Audi A6 that was "Carmax Quality Certified" and had the "125 point inspection". They told me that they had put brand new tires on it. 3 days after I buy the car the 2 drivers side tires completely blow out ruining both wheels. I had the car towed back to carmax assuming they will fix it, especially with the fact that I have only had it for 3 days. They wind up telling me that they need to do an investigation to see if it was my fault. I asked them why they told me they had put new tires on the vehicle, and showed them huge gouges on the passenger side tires (obviously not new tires). Then all of a sudden the only tires that were new were the tires that were completely destroyed. Not only would they not fix the car, they give me an estimate of what it is going to cost for them to replace everything. I told them that I wanted to return the car, and they refuse to take it back even with their 30 day return policy. After days of arguing I just took it to the Audi dealer. The Audi dealer tells me that the break pad need to be changed immediately or my breaks were going to go out, and they also tell me that the car is completely out of alignment. So what is with the 125 point inspection carmax? Did you guys check anything at all? Carmax would never return my calls, they would put me on hold when I called and then disconnect me forcing me to actually go into the store anytime I would try to get an answer for anything. My sales person assured me the entire time that I would not pay anything out of pocket for anything and that he would personally take care of me. All bullshit lies. I went to sell my vehicle. The gentlemen that helped me at first was very nice. I was given an offer that I was completely not interested in. (Beyond low) I told gentlemen that I had to go home and run it by my husband and that I would return if anything. When I got back to my car and turned it on the car was shaking and vibrating a lot. I know the car had some issue but that was not one of them. I went inside and asked to speak with appraisal person. He said that the car was doing that before, ( I know for a fact it wasn't!) I then asked to speak to manager, he said he was the manager but that he would get his manager. This guy was somewhat nice and heard me but again said that the car must have been doing that before. I asked if they were certified mechanics to be making all these assumptions and diagnosis on my vehicle at which time they said no they are not they just generalize. They beat around the bush a lot and don't seem to want to agree in a solution. Long story short, I didn't get an apology, I didn't get a reasoning besides them saying it wasn't them, I got a very poor offer, and the lack of compassion and assistance was obvious. I'm hoping to get a better offer and service at their competitor next week. I do not recommend this place. It's a waste of time. read more

OMG, just avoid. I bought a car from here a few months ago to drive it up north and to use it in winter icy roads. The sales man mentioned it was a AWD and that was what I was looking for. Bought the car after seeing the add on the screen and we were in a hurry before we left FL. The guy only showed us AWD because that is the only thing we asked for. 7 months later my car almost skidded into a ditch and couldn't move up an icy road in a undeserved medical area where I see my patients who are ill. Called car max in Doral the manager accused us of lying and the head office did NOTHING except to try to make us trade in the car with them making a buck. I ask this question in general... they are a large company and people are counting on buying cars with their life depending on these vehicles. This is a very dishonest and dirty car company. Our car is spick and span without any issues, we have no reason to waste our time to get a new car when we wanted like for like. Do not ,, I repeat DO NOT trust these dirty dishonest people. I wish one day when one of them or their loved ones meet with a crash due to another dishonest persons mistake and I will be the medical staff by their side in emergency department seeing how KARMA took its toll on them for their bloody dishonesty! This is by far the worst customer service. I had guys tell me they dont have time to talk to me because my service advisor was not available. In the 3.5 weeks he has been off like 4 days. Secondly there no supervisor they transfer the calls to each other to cover each other. I have requested to speak to a manager but his always he is to busy so I requested for the manager's manager and same thing even the GM was busy for 2 weeks in a row everyone is busy probably lying about the warranty to customers. I have has to be on top of the warranty, Carmax and the shop. and i got all different answered from the warranty and the shop and Carmax employees tell me its pending thats the favorite thing to say. WHAT I WANT IS MY CAR TO BE FIXED AND AT THIS PINT THE DEDUCTABLE WAIVED. IF NOT I WILL TURN IT BACK INTO THE CARMAX AND THEY WILL EAT THE COST OF THE REPAIRS OR THE HASSLE TO SELL IT. I have no words how terrible this experience has been. First off, it took more than five and a half hours to finish up purchasing my new vehicle. Second of all, I had to fight for them to clean this vehicle..they had the sales person (poor guy) cleaning the car of the poor job they did. The excuse..it's late and there is only one guy. I'm not sure how this is a customers problem..they wanted me to bring the car back another day to detail the car..again, completely unacceptable. Why the hell would I want to waste another day at a dealership because of their incompetency. I have never seen anything like this before. If my husbands car didn't have a safety issue which we were trading in I would have left. I'm pregnant and I swear I felt like I was having contractions at the end of this process. I'm so pissed right now..it takes a lot for me to lose it but this experience pushed me to the brink. My car broke down on a Thursday night, I had to get it towed and it was one of the few places where you could leave your car after hours and drop your key (most car dealerships just close their gates and you have to come during opening hours). So I thought this looks like good customer service. But so far that was the only positive aspect. 1. Called Friday early in the morning to explain the situation. They told me they might not be able to look into it the same day but would let me know. Never got a call that day (Service Dept. is not working Saturday). 2. Then I called Monday (note that nobody ever picks up the service phone - you have no choice other than to try repeatedly and leave messages) and asked for an update. Did not get one the whole day. Then at the end of the day left the service manager a voice mail. 3. Tuesday I finally get call and they tell me they will look into it and give me an estimate in the afternoon. I'm getting hopeful, lol. Of course then nobody called me and followed up. 4. Today is Wednesday. Tried repeatedly to call Service Dept. (nobody picks up) and even when you call the operator nobody picks up (note it's 11am so the place should be open). Left a message again.... 5.... story to be continued? I guess I'll just have to pick up my car, lol. Not sure if I want to trust them to fix my car really. Bottom line: I cannot tell about Selling/Buying Cars - but the overall Service and customer responsiveness is a joke. Guess will have pick up my car and go somewhere else (they only wasted almost a week of my time). read more

My husband and I just bought our second car at this Carmax dealership in Miami. We purchased a Jaguar XF, a 2014 with just 18,000 miles on it. At first, I was a bit worried about transferring the car I selected all the way from Pennsylvania, but it was a very positive experience. When hurricane Irma hit us down here in Miami, the car was kept in a safe place out of the hurricane's path states away. So after the hurricane, it was driven down to the dealership and we completed the transaction. The best part of working with Carmax was working with our salesperson, Geovanny Tapia. He knew everything about the operation of the vehicle and about how the entire transaction would work. He was by far one of the most professional sales people I've had the good fortune to meet. read more

I recently visited this location with my husband, we were both in the market to upgrade our vehicles. After spending time on their website and locating possible interests we called and made an appointment to meet with one of their sales associates. Upon our arrival we were greated at the door by Jose Morales who stayed with us all day and showed us multiple vehicles that we were interested in. Since I had just had a baby and brought him with us Jose went and located every vehicle and drove it to the show room door so we didn't have to walk the lot while carrying our son. After our purchase I noticed my vehicle had a noise in the ac (it is a used vehicle so I wasn't upset) so we called back and Mr Morales made an appointment for us immediately with the service center. We took the car back they provided me with a rental car and did majority of the leg work for me. I would definitely use them again in the future. read more

CarMax vehicles are excellent quality, but the CarMax service in Miami/Doral is terrible. This is the second car I have bought from them. the cars are good, but both times the cars are very dirty with no attention to detail. This time I bought a 6 year old vehicle with 13,000 miles on it. Excellent one owner vehicle, but I don't think the car was ever cleaned besides an exterior wash. The w/wipers were bad and the tires had good tread but sidewalls were all dry rotted and not safe to use. I replaced the w/wipers and put four new tires on the first week. I am still working on cleaning the vehicle a month later but it drives like a new car. So after $700.00 the first week I have an excellent vehicle. Keep in mind the CarMax cars are good but don't expect honest service, like they say you can't have everything. read more
