Purchased our new car with ease

This was an adulting win! Seriously CarMax made buying our first car from a lot so easy. I've heard horror stories about purchasing from dealerships and I can honestly say for the most part this experience was a breeze. My husband and I have been searching online for cars for months, we knew we wanted a family friendly car, SUV, low mileage, good on gas, bluetooth, storage and possibly enough room for 7. Our list was even more specific but those were the big things. We finally fell in love with the Kia Sorento and started the process of owning the car. We had to have it shipped from another CarMax which took 6 days. As soon as we selected to have the car ship, one of the salesmen from Savannah gave us a call to answer all our questions and put our minds to ease. While waiting we also made ourselves smart and decided to do our loan through USAA and let me tell you the process was so easy dealing with our loan and CarMax because our agent, Brian Powers walked us through everything we'd have to do on our end. Now tonight was the night when the car finally got to Savannah and was ready for us to test drive. It got a little confusing being Brian wasn't there ( he let us know ahead of time he wouldn't be there and somebody who had mentored him would help us out). We let the front desk person know who we had been working with and a few minutes later she brought out Eve to help look at the car/ test drive it and do the paperwork on it. Everything went really well, we actually loved working with Eve and then after our test drive I got a text from Brian asking if we were still coming in to see the car. I texted him and told him we had actually just finished our test drive and were waiting for Eve to put the car back to prepare it for the sale. While waiting we overheard Richard telling Eve that he was actually supposed to finish the sale, awkward! We could definitely sense some tension and it was uncomfortable but Eve had us finish with Richard which I wish we didn't because we went from a vibrant personality to a complete snooze fest. It kind of took the excitement out of purchasing our first car from a dealership. He was more or less just by the book nothing more nothing less, good guy but not the kind of person I want to work with when spending money. I want to feel like a valued customer not another number. After going through the paperwork with Richard and looking at all our add-on options he transferred us to the business office to do some more paperwork with Jarred. Jarred too was a breath of fresh air, easy to work with and seemed interested. We signed tons of papers and bam! We're the proud owners of a Kia Sorento. Overall super easy, only thing I will say is I wish everybody was on the same page to avoid future awkward situations during a sale but all in all I'd go through CarMax again, and I'd definitely ask to work with Eve for the whole process.

    Thanks Carnax!

I am officially a CarMax fan! They have a wide variety of cars from luxury vehicles to older vehicles with higher mileage. It is easy to search online and transfer a car to the store or you can browse their lot. I experienced excellent customer service from the team and I am happy with my purchase. I must admit that I despise car shopping. CarMax is great because it is no haggle; what you see is what you get. The sales team will not try to sweet talk you or play games like at other dealerships. However, they may not know as much information about specific vehicles, so you have to do your research. I had a few hiccups with the car I originally wanted. A few of the cars I had transferred in were either rusty or had a lot of wear and tear. This was frustrating, but I kept searching and doing more research online. I finally found my dream car with the assistance of sales associate Jimmy! He was very patient with me and helped me get all of the necessary documents I needed to make the purchase. I highly recommend CarMax due to the convenience and excellent customer service!

Once I actually got to the point of purchasing my car, it was a very smooth process and I love my car. The only reason that I am only giving 3 stars is due to my initial visit to this business. I found a vehicle that I was interested in on their website, so I stopped by to check it out in person. Upon entering the dealership no one greeted me for a few minutes. Finally a young lady asked me if she could help me. I explained that I wanted to look at a car. She asked if I saw it on the lot and I responded that I did. She said "ok, you can go look it's unlocked ". Ok, so I walked out and looked, came back to see if I could crank it and test drive it. She told me that I could crank it, but she couldn't let me test drive it that day. Disappointing. They do allow you to ask for a hold on the car, so I asked that they hold it till the weekend and they did. I ended up buying the car and I am very happy with it. I wasn't sure that we would get to that point, since my first encounter was somewhat off putting.

Engine died after 2 months from a known problem Ford had with that engine. When carried to shop they said it had too much rust in the under carriage to spend money replacing engine. It also had a bad CV joint that she had been complaining about from day one. She's now looking at 30 grand cost for something that was supposed to be 10 grand. Avoid this place at all costs.

I had to make myself give this review and it angered me that I couldn't rate them with no stars! I'm a fully and permanent disabled Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn veteran and in February myself, my wife and 5 kids ran into automotive trouble and the get a good and reliable car decided to go through DriveTime Savannah. We purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. I told the salesman I needed something reliable to get me to work and for my wife and kids school events and etc. Ive got such an amazing family and I wanted to make sure we were safe and secure with the vehicle. I was told it was an amazing car and well maintained. Since my purchase in February my car has been in the shop 75 percent or more then it has in my yard or my job or taking my wamazing kids to any event they need. Instead they have had to give up school events and programs because of my car. Within a month of purchase I've had to replace the engine, and afterwards I've replaced 2 VVT solenoids, a high pressure fuel pump, the countless other issues. The car continues to go into limp mode and i can't even go over 30 miles an hour unless I disconnect the battery and most of the time that doesn't do anything....... I've almost been in countless wrecks because the car will be ok then all of a sudden it drops to limp mode in intersections and ive almost been t-boned with my baby girl in the car. I've called and been told it's my problem they sold me a lemon and I should have checked it better. It's really sad when a company takes advantage of someone let alone someone with kids and already struggling to live in today's economy, I've got severe PTSD and I never use it as an excuse but it is à struggle and I do manage but I've got to tell you they treat veterans like dirt. I've been so up in the air on this that my mother in law contacted them trying to help us and a gentleman by the name of tommy had the nerve to say he was having a bad day as well and hung up on her. To any vet out there looking to make a major life decision by going in debt for something you put your family in. Know that they are not looking out for you. Do not buy a car from here. My car was valued at 9 to 11 grand and I'm paying the upwards of 21,000$ on top of the almost 100 to 11 grand in repairs after only a month or 2 of purchase until now. If anyone knows of someway to help me please contact me. I need a car that Is safe... For anyone at drive time that sees this review and for the salesman that put us in this lemon I don't wish I'll will on you I just pray you make it right but I know you won't. Just don't take advantage of people that serve this country. Its hard enough to sacrifice the time from your loved ones when your deployed, you shouldnt have to worry that they aren't safe in the cars you put them in. These people put their loved ones in the cars you sale. I've been told by my job that my car issues are now affecting my job. I'll probably loose a great job because my car is a lemon. It is the pure definition of a lemon. It's been to the shop multiple times for the same code and no one has figured it out. It's truly sad this company treats veterans the way they do. When I was told I needed to contact customer relations they pretty much said well what do you want us to do about it. Truly sad. They mark car up way above value and they sell junk cars. My cars got rust all under the uncarriage of the car. My next goal is to go on post at Fort Stewart and Hunter and to try and get them put on the banned list. They are a dealership thats not there to help you, They will take full advantage of you if they they can and the second I said I was a disabled game over. If anyone knows of a way to help me and a good lawyer please let me know. God bless

Took the vehicle back 3 more times before they decided that the gas cap needed to be changed. Why did it take a master technician to figure out this was the cause of an evap leak? I had to beg and plead to get a rental car to get to/from work and kids to/from school. Initially I was told Hyundai would reimburse me for a private rental car, spent an hour on hold with corporate to be told this only applied to recall work. Additionally, we've been waiting for a back-ordered part to fix a national recall. It's now been 6+ months. They called me last month and setup an appointment to have it fixed...showed up and was told they did not have the part. So now I have to go out of my way to schedule another appointment in the future, all the while being told the recalled backseat seatbelts "should be safe" for my kids. I'm a very reasonable person, but this is no way to treat a customer. We will never be buying a Hyundai again, especially from this dealership.
