I lived here for appx 1 year with my husband and 4 kids. Everyone in the leasing office was amazing to us. Very professional, friendly and they assisted us in a timely manner. Christine, Brittani, Aaryn and Jeanine were great. Also Ralph but I don't think he's there any longer. The entire maintenance crew was also great. Mike, sam, and another SUPER kind gentleman but I seemed to have forgotten how to spell his name but I left him a review on another site. It started with a D so if you guys could remind me that would be great! So I can properly recognize him on here. The property is VERY well kept, and beautifully maintained. Pool has always been clean, same for the gym. I only have a few downsides (notice I didn't remove any stars for them) I know they do TRY. (Maybe corporate can work on the parking one). First is parking- please note your vehicle will have to fit in the tandem spot. (There are various sizes, some are long enough to fit a semi while others would only fit a smart car) I know it may seem like an obvious fact but some people actually get away with it if their neighbors seem fine with it. However, one of my neighbors did NOT. I have 4 kids in car seats and when we moved in, we had a smaller vehicle but we knew we were going to get a larger one. We got an SUV & Our parking spot was all the way to the back of the alley, so it was pretty "out of the way". But we still got complaints (pretty sure from the same person) that it stuck out of the given space. We tried parking it in our garage, but because we would be unable to open the doors and load all the kids in, it wasn't really an option. We ended up having to park in the visitor parking. Which was also unfavorable since we had to carry/ walk with our 4 small kids across the parking lot and up to our unit. So please be mindful of that. Second- while this specific area of Rancho is beautiful and overall "safe", PLEASE remember to lock your cars. I can admit I have left my guard down a few times and I didn't double check that the cars were locked so my car got broken into and my mother's bag was stolen. The vehicle was parked in our tandem spot. We did file a police report and the leasing office DID do their best to resolve any issues we had (they replaced my apartment keys and changed the lock on my unit.) so again I really couldn't dock them for that. I'm only sharing these things with you as reminders. I don't want these things to deter you from considering Carmel as a place to live because we did enjoy living there and we were very sad that we left. Overall, the highlights are the staff and the appearance of the apartment complex as a whole. Thank you Carmel for a great year with you! read more

This apartment community is by far one of the best ones I've ever lived at. It sad that I have left since I've taken the next chapter in my relationship with my girlfriend and we've moved in together at another Lewis Management owned complex. We have nothing but positive things to say about the management and leasing staff along with the great maintenance team. I assure you that you won't be disappointed if you move to this apartment. It's close to everything... Victoria Gardens, Ontario Mills and lots of other shopping places including a walking distance Farmers Market on Saturdays. The community is great! During my tenure I have found all of the leasing agents to be professional and helpful, but Christine is my favorite. She is extremely professional yet so personable. She has the sweetest disposition yet takes care of the business. She always responds to emails promptly and will always follow up! Even when I'm delayed on completing tasks, she sends the most gentle reminders that are respectful and kind. I've been living here since April and I have nothing, but positive things to say about the property, the staff in the leasing office, and the maintenance workers. I took a tour at the last minute and immediately fell in love with the apartment. Aryn from the leasing office was very friendly and made the process easy. Sunday I toured the apartment and then by Wednesday I was moving in. Britany was also helpful with any questions I had. Every time I had any issue in the apartment I was able to use the website and within 24hrs maintenance fixed the issue quickly and efficiently. I had an issue with my water heater and the maintenance worker came at 2am. The property is always maintained well. The facilities are clean and the grounds well manicured. I do like that is a gated community. It is easy for guests to find parking and the parking app is simple to use. I am grateful to call this place home. The location is great. Super close to restaurants, the shopping center and on Saturdays a walkable distance to the farmers market. Best decision I made was to live at Carmel! read more

Highlights of my life at Carmel; On the first night my boyfriend and I moved in, we didn't realize that the water heater wasn't working until 2:00AM!! We called the night manager at 2:05 and it was fixed at 2:15 AM!!! I noticed they're pretty strict with parking, with that, there is ALWAYS parking for the residents. Garage is meant for your car, not junk. They enforce that as well to ensure a parking spot near your home. The community is nice a quiet, even on the weekends. Amanda was super helpfunice to us! Every service request has been handled VERY QUICKLY, and professionally. I'm at the gym so much, I asked to have it cleaned and refilled all the time. And it's ALWAYS one immediately. I even requested for some equipment, and they got it a few days later!!!!!!!! Most of all, Carmel actually listens to their residents! And we LOVEEE it here. read more

Property manager is sending thieves to do jobs in the apartments as a contractor, I got stolen watches/jewelry, a Nintendo switch and some more stuff by a contractor the property manager sent to our apartment and property manager is not taking any responsibility. Incredible! I asked for the license of the contractor they sent and they haven't provided the license, it means the are contracting unlicensed people. Then, I asked them how they ensure our safety by the people they are contracting and sending to our apartments and the property manager just answered that they cannot ensure our safety, this is really concerning. read more

Aside from the immaculate lawn and clean facility, the set up was beautiful with catered food, a beautiful lawn set up with flowers, linens, and the entire Management team out to great residents and ensuring the event was a success. Hello Lewis Properties I'm writing you this review to hopefully shed light on an existing issue that seems to be repeated on multiple reviews on your yelp page. I'm talking specifically about Lauren. This review is literally a word for word incident report for you! Enjoy! I walked in today to inquire about parking as there seems to be ongoing issues with parking and Carmel. Lauren immediately greeted me with a nasty attitude and lack of desire to help. When I asked about the parking situation regarding my mothers car (who's been a tenant here for over a year now.) Her answer was "we have a strict 2 car policy here" That seems to be her ongoing favorite answer as I tried to inquire about perhaps Parking in front of the leasing office. "Like I said, we have a strict 2 car policy" and followed with "there's street parking on Spruce" I told Lauren that my mom is an older lady with a slipped disk who can't walk from spruce to the property if she's carrying groceries, etc... Lauren's answer "yeah it's not our problem if you have 3 cars". At this point she just wanted me to leave. I tried level with her as ask how is convenient for your tenants!?? This was the straw that broke the camels back This "employee" of yours said the following word for word. "It's not about convenience, we have a strict policy about Parking" Amazing! Wow... good job Lauren! You know the rules... you also know that buying additional parking is an option that you chose to keep quiet about it until I asked you about getting another parking pass. Why don't you lead with that next time? Make a sale?!? I'll gladly purchase additional parking for my mother with a bad back. Your lack of sympathy and ability to hear is amazing. Congrats Carmel and Lewis on hiring a zombie of an employee to deal with new and exsisting tenants. Bravo! read more

Gomez, our maintenance tech was amazing today! I was dealing with a difficult situation this afternoon and he came over and went above and beyond with his help to make us feel safe again. He cheered me up with his friendly conversation and reassured our sense of security by resetting a new garage opener after mine was stolen from my car last night. The reason for the four stars is because management refuses to hire an actual security company to patrol our gated community which is very easily breached because car break-ins are unfortunately, too frequently an occurrence. They will pay someone to patrol the parking lot for the correct color parking sticker, but won't protect their tenants from invasion or theft. read more

Be very careful about where your unit is. The apartments have garages directly below your unit which are not yours (and it's my bedroom actually) and my neighbor opens and shuts his at all hours and it's LOUD AF and wakes me up EVERY TIME . I literally can't plan to go to bed until after 1130 because I'm apparently on his schedule now. Sometimes he brings the motorcycle in at 0130 in the morning for a super fabulous surprise. Great for 2500$ for a 1 bedroom. Can't wait to move. read more

Do not move here. I recently moved out after a year here and after calling multiple times was never provided the move out statement.I called 3 times and they continued to state the inspection wasn't done and it takes 2-3 weeks for the paperwork. However they provided photos of the apartment while it was still in my possession. I eventually called again and was told they were keeping the $600 deposit we made and stating we owe an additional ~$780. They stated they mailed it to us and read the address on file. I let them know we have informed delivery so all of our mail is scanned and I don't have a piece of mail from them to which they replied "it must have gotten lost in the mail". They provided a list of charges with no move out checklist. Upon requesting more information their lies began to unravel. I have signed documentation stating I wanted to be present at the move out inspection. I have never in the entire year allowed them to enter my apartment without permission. After waiting all day no one came and I was told "they were busy". Weeks later we were told "they attempted the inspection and knocked but no one was home". Today I received photos dated on the move out date prior to when I returned my keys. This means the maintenance worker was in my home when it was in my possession with my belongings WITHOUT my permission. Ironically as soon as I left to get food they magically entered my apartment without permission. They took photos of items on the counter that we were actively moving out to justify the charges. Literally took photos of pots I have in my possession and I have a video when I left and there are clearly no pots on the counter. The apartment was not in tip to shape when we received it however we decided to let things go because it's an apartment. People are going to live there. We have caught these people in so many lies please save yourself the headache of living here. They won't answer the phone, they will violate your boundaries and home, and at the end they'll lie to your face and act clueless. I wouldn't have known they were in my apartment without my permission had they not told on themselves trying to justify charged. Karma is real and that's exactly why they are caught in all of their lies. read more

So DISAPPOINTING!! I wish I can give ZERO star!!! We came from different state looked at an apartment, reserved a unit, we got the approval, and got excited about it. After few days I receive a call from the leasing office that oh sorry the apartment will not be available and we don't have any availability for your time, you should pay extra for more days ( that we won't be living in ) as our availability works, & we will cancel your application, and the app fee will not be refundable! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! What a mess!! Honestly. The worst customer service ever. This was the worst experience ever we had, especially with Katty & Ann !! and we will never come back or live here and definitely will tell our friends and family not to come. Carmel used to be a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. Now, marijuana are all over the community. Staff do not do anything about it. You will smell marijuana everywhere. Now, anytime we walk with our kids or pet, we always smell it. So strong that we stopped walking inside the complex. What happened to Carmel? Can't you make the whole community smoke free???? We will definitely not going to renew our contract. We do not want our kids to exposed more to the smell of marijuana. Another thing, people are smoking excessively in the community. This complex should not advertise that it is a family friendly community, safe, etc.... because having a tenant who smoke excessively plus smoking marijuana is not safe for kids, pregnant women, seniors, or for those with underlying conditions. I hope they will do something about this. As of right now, I will definitely not going to recommend Carmel Lewis Apartment. read more

I was in carmel for more than 3y.Recently i moved out abut want to inform Lewis about their management and other ppl.This is very clean and nice place but i didnot like management.They were so arrogant and not well behaved. Parking is horrible and i observed when pandemic started couple of tenants in carmel parked their car in same place more that 1.5year and still they are doing this but authorities never take any actions as they dont check frequently.No cars suppose to be in same place more than 3/4days.Not only that lots of car suppose to be in garage but its parked in outside,so parking was horrible.Car breaks is very common in this property.Most of the time gates are open,so we had concern for safety also.Lewis should take care everything as tenants pay a lots. read more

I've been living here for 7+ years and have nothing but great things to say about the staff and complex itself! very safe and quiet and the living style here is so homey. the staff is always so helpful and responsive and never had any issues since living here. the workers and staff keep up with keeping the complex so clean and nice for our living environment. i always see Michael and Dwayne cleaning and doing the extra on making sure the complex is clean and anytime I've needed help they were always there and on time and very professional! i would recommend Carmel to anyone looking for a safe, clean, and happy environment for themselves and their families! thanks Carmel for always making me feel safe and living in a clean environment. This was once a nice place to live however the management has not improved, in fact it's gone down. I am not sure who they are renting to anymore, but there is always trash laying around the trash receptacles are constantly overflowing to where people put their trash in the walkway and you can't even walk in to actually throw it in the trash bin. Anytime you walk around you'll see dog waste everywhere that never gets picked up. They advertise it as luxury living, but is no longer luxury. They do however still charge the luxury living prices. read more

I lived here for over a year and it was pretty much an all-round positive experience. It's located near a shopping center, movie theater, restaurants, etc.. The customer service was top notch and the neighbors were friendly. I had my own garage, so parking was never an issue. I've walked around outside at 2-3 AM in the morning and felt perfectly safe. There were only a couple of minor negatives.. While I couldn't really hear the neighbors to the right and left of me, I could always hear footsteps from the neighbors above me.. I know that's pretty normal for most apartments, but what made it irritating is that they never seemed to sleep. I could hear footsteps at all hours of the day and night. Right before I left, they really jacked up the rent... I think it was in the neighborhood of a $250-300 increase.. I was already planning to move several months beforehand, so it didn't really bother me.. read more

I have lived in the Carmel apartments for just over a year and a half, and I love it here! Customer Service: Whether it is a maintenance work order or a billing issue, all of my requests have been handled very quickly and professionally. Everyone in the leasing office is very friendly and happy to help. Facilities: The pool and gym are both very well maintained. The gym has lots of equipment, including 2 treadmills, 3 elliptical machines, a bike, a full set of dumbbells, and other weight lifting equipment. Although the trash bins can get kind of full over the weekend, all other areas are always clean. Noise: This is a very quiet community, and I've never had any noise issues. The walls are insulated enough to keep the noise heard from other apartments to a minimum (these are apartments, after all), and all of the neighbors seem pretty respectful (but there are jerks everywhere, and I'm sure Carmel has a few--sorry if you happen to live below or next to one). Overall, in my opinion, this is a great, safe community. Although the prices are a bit high, you certainly get what you pay for. I've had a wonderful experience and plan to renew my lease once again. read more

Our family moved here a few weeks ago and I just wanted to share how thrilled we are to be living at the Carmel Apartments. It truly is resort style living with the staff always friendly and helpful; always eager to assist my every need. I also love the fact that I can work out at insane hours since they have the gym is always open, or enjoy the spa after dinner with my family. Another perk is the location. We rarely have to travel more 10 minutes because everything we need is located right by us: parks, shops, restaurants. The apartments are beautiful and well maintained and they are constantly at the upkeep of this place. My only regret is that we didn't move here sooner. And one more thing ... Santa came to our apartment last night to take photos with my five year old! (Thank you, Lewis Communities!) They have wonderful activities established monthly and it's all included with the cost of living here! Love love love calling Carmel our home! read more
