I'd give 6 stars if it were possible. I chipped my front tooth yesterday. Reached out to a bunch of dentists at 4:45 pm, and heard back from CHD by 5:15 pm. They knew I was desperate and offered to squeeze me in but I had a dinner at 5:30 pm. They said they could make it work. I walked in and they were literally geared up ready to go. Got me in the seat in under 2 minutes, fixed not only the tooth in question, but also another small chip, and had me out of the chair in 15 minutes. Ironically, they were fixing a previous emergency dentist's fix from the original chip, and it looks ten times better despite being done in 20% of the time. Absolute life savers and I was barely late for my dinner. read more

Wished I'd found him sooner, as my previous dentist just wanted to replace my older crowns. In the 3 yrs I, and my family have been seeing him he's helped us all avoid tooth problems. I picked Carmel Heights Dentistry strictly by reading reviews from google and yelp as I was looking for a new dentist in my area. I had gone several years without a cleaning and the more time that passed the more anxious I was getting about that first cleaning after such a long time. This is by far the best place I have ever been to. The staff is so welcoming and Dr Garcia is always so friendly and real. Best of all I don't ever feel like they are trying to push extra services on you, more than you need. My hygienist is Julie. (I love that they consistently pair you with the same hygienist so you get to know them well!) Julie always gives it to me straight. She'll let me know when I could be doing a better job with flossing and educates at the same time. She doesn't make you feel bad either, but she helps you understand why I needed to make changes to my brushing habits. She's really the best. Dr. Garcia always comes to check you at the end of the cleaning which in my past experience, is not something every dentist takes the time to do. He always makes time to discuss any issue or answer any of my questions. I originally found out about Carmel Heights by accident as I had an appointment at a dentist office nearby and went on Yelp to check their reviews. After seeing they had a horrible rating, I searched in the area and Carmel Heights Dentistry came up. They had all 5 star reviews and figured getting a second opinion on what the other dentist recommended to have done. All the equipment in his office is the latest state of the art stuff and he dose it all right there for you. I had a crown made while I waited, did Invisalign to make my teeth perfectly straight, he does teeth whitening on a regular bases for me and Julie my hygienist there, takes care of all the teeth cleanings and snapping the whip to keep me flossing regularly! The office staff is extremely friendly- I don't remember the last time I had such great customer service from the front AND back office team. They each greeted me and introduced themselves. I admittedly had not gone to the dentist in over 2 years, while knewing i needed quite some work done due to two broken back teeth. I was "forced" to spend company FSA dollars before they expired, so it finally gave me a push to go. I had a slight emergency situation and the front desk staff was very accommodating in getting me in quickly, but also extremely helpful in answering my insurance - and finance questions. I have a moderate fear of dentists and picked this location because they specialize in anxiety treatment (see their website). Dr Garcia is very gentle, caring and I felt completely at ease to have him do the work despite my dentist anxiety. I needed two crowns and a filling and am very happy with the work done at this office, from the cleaning service to front desk to the dental care. I was wary to come to a brand new dental office considering horror stories I'd heard about friends switching dentists (none of those horror stories dealt with this place!), and Yelp actually pointed me to this place when I was searching for a new dentist in the area I moved to. From setting up the appointment to having the cleaning done, everything was fantastic. Blythe was an absolute sweetheart in setting up the appointment for me & answering questions I had about procedure & pricing. Dr. Garcia was extremely informative, thorough, and spoke to me as a person rather than just a patient which is a HUGE plus in my eyes. The x-rays were a breeze, the cleaning went by as a breeze (that's never happened!) and they cleaned/beautified the poor teeth of mine that had been subjected to the neglect that comes with a busy college student's life, haha. Let me start by saying that I have been terrified of the dentist since I was a child. The experience I had at Carmel Dentistry changed the game for me. I came into the office for a cavity on one of my top molars that I had been avoiding fixing. While on vacation the tooth broke off and began to cause a lot of pain. I did a little research online to find the best dentist and crossed my fingers in hopes to get out alive! Lol I arrived to the office 10 mins early and was greeted by a friendly staff who was ready to take me right back. The office was very clean and had a peaceful and welcoming energy. I waited in the chair for only a few mins and the doctor came right out. As soon as I met him I could tell that I had come to the right place. He was very friendly, calm and thorough in explaining everything that he would be doing. When he got out a needle I began to cringe but he assured me that it wouldn't hurt. I went in for my very first appointment with Dr. Garcia yesterday and I was extremely impressed. From the second you walk in the door the staff is extremely friendly. One of the girls even went to get me the latest issue of People to read while I waited... so nice and thoughtful! The girl cleaning my teeth was extremely thorough, which is good and bad. Extra scrape time... not fun - but the end results and my perfectly clean chompers, eh, I can deal with it. Carrying on the high level of customer service, she was very friendly and told me she'd stop at anytime if it was too much. There is a tv overhead to "distract" you... but how distracted can you possibly be with that awful metal thing.... I'll stop because it's making my skin crawl. Then we went in for the photos... and x-rays. So many freakin' pictures, but it's better to be thorough, right? And then... I couldn't believe this... but when the lady was done sticking all of those awful films in my mouth for the x-rays - she asked if I wanted a paraffin wax. Me - "What???" Lady - "A paraffin wax on your hands." Me - "Seriously??" Lady - "Yes, we do it for all of our patients" Me - As the sounds of metal scraping my teeth and those awful x-ray films cutting into my gums seems to slowly fade away... "Ummm, SURE!" I kid you not... I got a paraffin wax on my hands... big warm gloves and all. And then was actually able to relax while sitting in the dentist chair. Amazing... Along with the super friendly and helpful staff - I walked out of there with super soft hands... awesome. I would recommend Andy Garcia and his fantastic staff to all my friends and family. I went to this office a little over a month ago for the first time and was extremely happy with the quality of service I received! The front office was very warm and welcoming and they got me right in to see Dr. Garcia. He took his time, made me feel comfortable, and explained things in great detail to where I understood them perfectly. Next I saw their fantastic hygienist, Krista, who made me feel like I was at a day at the spa instead of having my teeth cleaned. She soaked my hands in complementary paraffin wax while she cleaned my teeth (something I've never had done before at a dentists office), and let me tell you, it sure was relaxing!! I can't speak highly enough about this office. Like many, I've never enjoyed trips to the dentist. Before finding Carmel Heights I attributed that to the service itself, but have since realized it was more to do with the quality of care. In my experience I found that most dentist offices are uninviting with cold staff, and it lead me to make little effort to keep up with regular check ins/appointments/etc. however, I recently moved to the area and found Dr.Garcia's office through Yelp and I have to say they 100% live up to their reviews. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by their friendly receptionist and seated at the front until they are ready. They have complimentary water, coffee, and tea, and really cool art as well. Once they bring you back you can see that their equipment and procedures are top-of-the-line and immaculate, and most of the dental chairs face west and have an amazing view of Del Mar or have a TV so you can relax while the work is being done. The best part hands down is the service, i literally cannot say enough good things about the staff and Dr. Garcia. He's knowledgeable, articulate, and very thorough. I also have never felt he has recommended any unnecessary work (which has not been the case with other dental offices). This is hands down the best place to get all your dental work done! When you walk in the door the staff at the front desk are great! They say hello and offer you a warm beverage! I always get to my appointments early...and here I have never really ever had to wait! They are always on time! At my previous dental office I had to wait almost an hour and a half for a cleaning once! I also have the best dental heigenist, Sherry! Love her! She is so thorough! She talks me though the entire procedure and tells me exactly what she is about to do before she does it! It totally takes the fear out of teeth cleaning and going to the dentist! He goes over any dental health concerns you may have! I know I am in great hands! He even recommended an amazing oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction! When doing extreme sports, injury to teeth is always a concern. Here at Carmel Heights Dentistry they made me a mouth guard that perfectly fit my teeth! The service at Carmel Heights Dentistry is very professional and luxurious! Every time I go I get a complimentary paraffin hand treatment. Was by far the best dental experience I have ever had. Very nice staff and Dr. Garcia went into detail about what he procedures he was going to perform and what I was to expect and made a normally stressful visit into something about as enjoyable as you could make it (root canals will never be a pleasant time). I had a root canal as well as a wisdom tooth extracted. During the procedure he was talking and making sure I was in no pain the entire time while I was watching Sportscenter and listening to music. Afterward he went over everything in detail about what to expect. a couple hours later I received a phone call from him with making sure I was doing ok and giving me his number in case anything came up.
