I was very excited and had high hopes for my couple's massage at this location based off of what appeared to be a unique space with very good reviews from other people's experiences. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my massage due to lack of attention to my expressed problem area, inconsistent pressure throughout my massage and overall quality of massage. The pressure initially was great but after about ten minutes became much weaker. I was asked three times if I was okay throughout my massage when I was just relaxing silently on the massage table- this was very odd to me. I don't remember my masseuse's name but she was elderly with short white hair- very pleasant lady otherwise. However, my partner verbalized that had a wonderful massage with Michelle. I could hear her communicating with him and confirming that target areas were being attended too with breathing techniques as well. She even gave suggestions on how to ease tension areas in regards to his work day. The view from the room is gorgeous however, we were not given time to enjoy it other than we were getting undressed and dressed. The massage experience felt rushed over all and although there was relaxing music playing during the session I was shocked that I could hear sporadic, loud foot steps and vacuuming coming from the floor below us during our massage. I see that many people are very concerned that it's a massage studio at a residence and not one of those fancy day spas. If you're looking for a soaking tub or sauna, this is not that. It's a private room with a beautiful view. As much as I love the sauna and the whole special treatment, my hubby and I actually really enjoyed our massages here. The directions Noel gave were very specific and the place was really easy to find. Do not bring your SUV or big cars here. Thankfully, we always bring our sedan when we go to Carmel, so we were able to back into a parking space. Driveway is pretty narrow. We were greeted by one of the masseuses in the parking lot and she walked us up to the massage studio. There is a bathroom for you to use inside and drinking water is offered. We didn't really have anywhere to change our clothes except for the room we were in, but we didn't mind. The massage tables were warmed by heating pads, which was a really nice touch. The music was very relaxing and it was nice not hearing any outside voices. I'm glad I was able to book a couple's massage last minute. The only thing I was weirded out by was a credit check over the phone when booking, but cash is the only form of payment. This is not a spa, it is a residential home. If you're going to pay for a massage, just go to a nice spa. One thing I will say though is Noel and Michelle were good at their job, but this is definitely more of a sports massage. I didn't feel relaxed most of the time, she was moving my body so much and when I was flinching out of discomfort she wouldn't change her pressure. The studio is located in a private residence and we were asked to take our shoes off in the very tiny vestibule as we entered. Upstairs is a large room where we were to receive our massage. No private changing area and you are undressed in front of a large window with lovely views some distance away from the massage table, which requires you to walk naked across the room. The massage was fine; however the massage therapist that was working on my friend kept talking and it was hard to relax because of that. Midway through our massage a woman walked in from off the street to ask about getting a massage. That was unsettling to me. We were able to get an appointment here last minute before leaving the area that afternoon. I really don't have any complaints about the quality of the massage. Both our techs were great (I had Christina, my husband had someone else but her name escapes me). Very relaxed, quiet, all that. It IS in a house and if you follow the texted directions closely in conjunction with google maps, you will find it fine. Parking is a touch tight. The things that knocked this down a star were the following: There's no real way to rinse or wipe off the ample amounts of lotion/balm/oil used for the massage. After other massages I've had, I have been at least offered a towel or a few warm towels to wipe down. The other issue was we were kind of rushed out. It could of been because we were scheduled too tight. But, it took a bit to get dressed without ruining our clothes from the lotion, then I had to pee. By the time I was done, we had to run out. The first time the woman who answered mentioned she was not in the office currently and would need to call us back that afternoon after she checked availability for the date requested. After waiting two days with no call back we tried again and the same woman mentioned she was not in the office again, but she thought she had availability at 4:30pm, we confirmed the massages and time on the third call but she would text to confirm we were booked same day. Again we waited and never received a response. So we called a forth time, hoping we would just be confirming our appointments, and the same woman then said she had no availability for the day and clearly was not going to inform us.
