Unless you're actally looking for a piece of trash to work on yourself and enjoy smelling like an oil fire every where you go, Just walk away. My husband and I bought a '15 jeep wrangler. We should have known to walk away when we showed up on a Saturday with a "required" reserved time slot and not a single sales person available to help us. We were able to put a deposit on the jeep and told them we would deal with the funding through our credit union. They had this car for 4 business days knowing it was being purchased. They waited until after they received our check to inform us that there was a repair needed. Again we should have walked away. They kept the jeep and our money for another 4 days with a new promise each day that it would be ready the next day. There is no possible way they actually inspected this car before they sold it. After their "repair" the jeep only got worse. Emmitting a horrible burning smell that our neighbors 3 houses down came to express concern over. The second auto shop we've taken it to said the jeep wasn't even safe to be on the road. The caliper was DANGLING from the body. It dug into the rims causing more damage. The jeep was grinding its breaks! We had to use the e-brakes to get it to the closet shop. We test drove this thing, with our kids in the car! We've put over $1,800 worth of repairs in two auto shop trips in less than a week on top of what they "took care of" for us. Each time we think we've finally fixed it something new starts leaking, or shaking, or grinding. This is not some angry wife that is just mad at a business for putting her husband and children in danger.. no we gave this business a chance to fix their mistake. When we took our issues back to the dealership, their advice was to stop the other auto shop from working on the jeep and bring it in to fix on them. However, since this burning smell didn't happen during our test drive but after their first repair, and they somehow missed bolts missing in the caliper, there was no way we were letting them touch it again. We asked them to take it back and give us our money and they refused. We didn't even ask for the $1800 back. Just what we paid for. From other reviews they know exactly what they're doing. My experience with this place would have been much better if not for one issue. I bought a Mercedes convertible and after I drove it off the lot, I realized the AC didn't work. Yes, it's my fault for not checking during the test drive, so I'll take part of the blame. However, one of two things happened. 1. They didn't bother to check the major systems in the car when it came in and just put it up for sale without knowing what might be broken, or 2. they knew it was broken and put it out for sale hoping that someone would buy it without realizing it. I bought a Subaru from them 2 months ago. As I am a little younger than most of their "normal buyers". I went in expecting to be treated differently however they treated me with a lot of respect. I asked to look at the car on a lift and they took me to the back and put it on one. I ended up buying the car the next week. When I got home I drove it 2 weeks before I took it into the mechanic for a general inspection just to make sure everything was okay, they said I had a oil leak that was "spewing everywhere" I called the dealership and they said they wanted to see it in person. I told them I live 2.5 hours away and I'm not driving in a car that spewing oil everywhere that far. They told me to take pictures and send them in so I did and they said " it's a difference in mechanical opinion" which I still dont understand because it's oil leaking inside of my engine. I had it fixed for $1500. Another month went by with no problems and then blew a head gasket when they stated they just had it replaced again another $1500 to fix . The vast majority of these reviewers are Carmel Motors pressuring new clients into leaving reviews the second they purchased the vehicle. This dealership should have their licensing revoked and should never be able to operate in the state of Indiana ever again. I purchased a vehicle back in August of 2018. They promised to fix some items on the car. They sent the car to a bodyshop in a bad part of town. The car was stolen and badly damaged. 15k in damage alone and the items they were to fix in the agreement have not been. Since then Carmel Motors has failed to do anything about it. They've had every excuse and delay tactic to not rectify the situation. The management and ownership do not understand good business practices. I've been trying to acquire a vehicle from these people for a solid month now. It's still on their lot. I live in Texas and after doing a lot of internet shopping, I decided on one of their cars. One of the deciding factors was they advertised on their website that they would ship a vehicle anywhere in the country. They have my down payment, the car is financed and insured, I've paid to have it shipped. And it's still there. I realize that my not physically being in their dealership makes me easy to forget, but this is ridiculous. Their communication is practically nonexistent. I wish I had read these other reviews before. I don't get the sense that these people are crooked, just incredibly incompetent. I've purchased two cars from Carmel Motors. They were very easy to deal with. Flexible and reasonable in their negotiations. But what impressed me the most was standing by their word. One of our cars had a repair before we bought it. This repair had an effect on some laser alignments and other things that they wouldn't have known. Very specific to the car. They helped us, over the period of two weeks, get what we we needed to make it right. Offering advice and even financial support. That experience had me coming back for my second car without hesitation. Not everything they sell is a luxury or exotic car that you may see outside. They have on their lot and can source great everyday vehicles too. It's hard to find family or local owned dealerships in Indy these days. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

Purchased a car about 4 months ago. It was used with no warranty so I understood the risk. They told me it was from snow birds in Florida. I found Carvana info after purchase. I had to put 7K worth of repairs within a month. Again, my risk but left a bad taste. My biggest issue is that the key fob did not work. They told me it would charge on the way home. Nope. Had me come back, 90 minutes away, to replace battery. Nope. Told me to call two different locksmiths to have it fixed. Nope. Both said it can't be done. I have been emailing them and calling and leaving messages with the receptionist for over three months and they won't call me back or respond. Do not buy from here. We had a great experience when we arrived at Carmel Motors. We really enjoyed working with Alex. Everything was straight-forward, timely, and friendly. We did have an issue with the vehicle when we left...BUT Alex was quick to respond to my message and the dealership is taking care of it. Honestly I first gave a 1-star, but that quickly turned to a 4-star and now, through the repairs and getting the car back all fixed...5-stars! It's nice to see that the friendly and helpful mannerisms displayed at first were not just a ploy to get us to purchase a vehicle, but were in fact genuine. Extremely disappointed. We made an appointment to test drive a car 3 days early, drove 2.5 hours to get to the dealership. Pulled in and checked our phone to find a message sent just 15 minutes before stating the car was having some brake work done and would not he available today, come back tomorrow! We were buying a car for our soon to be 16 year old daughters birthday. Not to mention, I was celebrating my 40th Birthday today. Needless to say, I was furious! Stay away from this dealership! Things started out great and we were happy with the sales experience at Carmel Motors and found Tim to be helpful and easy to work with. We purchased a 2018 VW Atlas that stopped working properly an hour after we drove it off the lot. We informed Carmel Motors immediately and at first they were helpful and tried to repair it. The car literally wouldn't start. They had the car for two weeks and told us it was fixed (we were not offered a loaner). We went to pick up the car, had to wait over an hour with our toddlers at the dealership even though we were told it was ready to go, and finally got it and left. It stopped working again 30 minutes later. We informed Carmel Motors and they told us to take it to a VW dealership to get diagnostics run and said they'd do the repairs. We took the car to VW. It happened to be that the car is still under VW warranty, so VW has been attempting to repair it for over three weeks, so far with no luck. We had asked Carmel Motors if it was possible for them to take the car back after the first repair failed, and were informed this was a possibility. After the car had been at VW for two weeks, I called and formally asked Carmel Motors to take the car back. The sales manager, Mike, was rude and condescending and told me that was likely impossible and that it's not Carmel Motors fault and I shouldn't be upset with them for being the "middle man". He acted like it was ridiculous I would even ask this when they literally sold us a car that doesn't start. I mentioned we would have to leave negative reviews and he said "that's not the way to handle this" while offering no solutions. I even told him VW confirmed they could keep the car and keep doing repairs under warranty for Carmel Motors - he told me this isn't true even though VW confirmed it twice. He told me to be upset with VW for the faulty car - VW has been nothing but helpful and didn't sell us the car! VW looked into the history of the vehicle and found that the previous owner had the same issue we're having. Based on how often the car doesn't start I now find it highly unlikely that no one was aware of the issue before it was sold to us. We bought this vehicle in mid March and haven't been able to drive it. In addition to this, any time I need to get any information from Carmel Motors I have had to call 5+ times per day, sometimes with no answer. I've emailed several times following up with no answer. It's now May and we are without a vehicle we purchased in March, and without a loaner. This has been a terrible experience and has been a huge inconvenience and financial burden on our family. We purchased a 2014 Audi Q7 from Carmel Motors on June 8th. The car had only 78k miles but 4 days later (and 100 miles) the transmission went out on I-65. Fortunately we had a truck driver that helped us navigate off the interstate and to the rest area. This is by far the WORST dealership I have ever worked with. Not only did the transmission go out but we were told the vehicle was serviced and inspected prior to the sale, which an Audi dealership confirmed it wasn't. Carmel Motors refuses to show any form of accountability and DO NOT care about their customers. 3 weeks later, their solution was to find us a junkyard transmission for our car "to help us out". The owner, Steve, will act like he cares about you but he doesn't. STAY AWAY from this dealership. I've learned an $8,000 lesson the hard way so you don't have to. Buyer Beware. Dealership does not follow through on obligations. I purchased a Toyota Tacoma online from Carmel Motors and the dealer shipped the vehicle as part of the purchase price. The vehicle arrived unannounced with a dead battery and a smashed windshield. While the dealer did purchase a new battery for us through AutoZone, the windshield replacement has been a different story. The delivery driver did not speak English very well and claimed the windshield was smashed by individuals "molesting" him at a rest stop. He offered cash to my wife for the windshield. While apologetic to what happened, he was clearly trying to complete the delivery and go quickly. Uncomfortable with the situation, my wife accepted an amount that was half of the replacement cost of the windshield. The dealership at first appeared to want to work with me on a resolution by getting the shipper to pay the difference, but stopped pursuing a resolution with them and stated they were filing a claim with their own insurance co. That was 6-Sept 2023. Weekly requests for information have gone unreturned. They appear to be ghosting me. I felt my only recourse was to share my experience with this dealer so others could potentially avoid a bad experience themselves. read more

I had contacted four dealers in the Louisville area hoping to sell or trade my '99 six-speed Corvette for something that my wife would enjoy driving, as well as I. The car is in comparatively good shape, with low miles (under 50,000), and drives very well. However, it is encumbered with a rebuilt title. Three of the above-mentioned dealers were not at all interested in the car (because of the rebuilt title), and I was beginning to become discouraged that I would not be able to get what I needed out of the sale of the car. It did have some rather minor electrical problems, possibly due to it being totaled out in 2006 under a previous owner. Also, I had been informed by my mechanic that the clutch would eventually need to be replaced. Before coming to Carmel Motors, the dealer where I bought the car in Louisville (in May of 2018) was the only one who had offered to purchase it. However, their offer was only $5,000, which was less than half of what I had paid for it just over a year earlier. And this, despite the fact that I had spent at least $4,000 to correct some rear suspension, as well as several other issues, including outfitting it with a new set of tires. When I contacted Carmel Motors through the AutoTrader app, I was surprised to learn that they were interested in trading for my car. So, on the word Emily Arnett, a very bright and knowledgeable young woman on the sales staff there, I made the 2 1/2 hour drive from where I live in Kentucky to the dealership in Carmel, Indiana, where I was met by Emily. Carmel Motors was indeed interested in buying my car! Emily went to bat for me with Mike, the sales manager, and we were able to work out a deal where I traded "even" for a nice, lower-mileage car they had on their lot which suits my needs (and budget!) very well! I must say that I feel I have never been part of a better deal on a car purchase, and I would be happy to do business with Emily and Carmel Motors again in the future - even though I will have to make the two & a half hour trip to the Indianapolis area! I couldn't be more pleased with how I was treated at Carmel Motors. My wife is also very pleased with our purchase. The deal I got from Carmel was better than I had dared to hope. read more

Next day, I receive a text from "the finance manager" requesting a copy of my driver license while the sales person is telling me car is sold. They also deliberately sold my credit history info to three different local credit unions. They just wanted to sell my information for financial gain while having no intention of selling the vehicle and let alone that when I requested to talk to the same person I spoke with the day before. My wife and I came to buy a car from this dealer. We had called and made an appointment and arrived on time only to find the car was mysteriously out for service. We waited nearly an hour and a half whereas the car finally showed up and we drove it inspected it and this this low mileage car really seem like something we would want. The car has a service ticket with it that said apply sealant for 198.00 and the salesman said it was to seal the oil filter holder which hadn't been done properly when changed. So now two months later after finding a puddle of oil on the garage floor, my mechanic found where the " sealer " was in fact placed around a leaking head gasket!!! This was intentionally done to doctor up a car and sell it! There's no other way or reason the mechanic would've done this other than the fact that the dealer requested it to be deceptive. I understand they sell vehicles as is, however, if you intentionally try to deceive someone that is breaking the law! I contacted the dealer try to resolve the situation and was greeted with rudeness, accusations of me letting the car go for two months, and that they would never ever do anything like that. This car is a convertible and was bought mainly for a car of leisure and has sat most of the time we have owned other than the few times we have drove it for recreation. After buying the car I put several thousand dollars of wheels tires and performance breaking on the car only to find that the entire engine may have to be rebuilt due to their deceptive practices. His only advice to me was I should've bought a service contract. How convenient. Sell a doctored up Car then sell a service contract too so they're covered selling a crappy car and also selling service contract what a racket! read more

Later that evening check engine light came on again called caramel motors back and of course no one was available to take our call etc. We find out it the air intake manifold is the real problem NOT A SENSOR! Absolutely the worst car dealership in the world! Bought a Nissan Altima on Nov. 9, 2022. As of Dec. 8, 2022 still no car to drive. Matt said the only thing wrong was tire was low. They put air in the tire, drove it off the lot after closing time and it wasn't right. Took it back, said it was a bent rim. Drove it home, still not right. Took it back they didn't even look at it for 5 days! My nephew went up to talk to Mike the manager, he offered to buy the car back. Said they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Would have my deposit money on Friday after Thanksgiving. NO! No, check. They said service manager had to sign off on it. Then said they couldn't get in touch with the person at the credit union. In actuality the Credit Union was closed the day after Thanksgiving, because I called. Monday, NO CHECK. My nephew (lives closer) went to talk to Mike again, he even shook hands and gave his word. Nope!!! Didn't get the money in my account until 12/1/2022! My credit report still shows that I owe on the car and THEY HAVE THE SAME CAR ON THE LOT FOR SALE NOW. Called Mike yesterday, he said it was an easy fix so it's for sale again. How can you sale a car that someone else bought and hasn't been paid for?? Ray the finance manager told me to go ahead and get another car that it would not count against me. WRONG! GOT DENIED!! Ray then sent me a copy of the check and it was just dated on 12/6/22! He said it was proof that the car was paid for to show the other dealership but that they had wired the money. Credit union had no record of a check or wire!! 12/7/2022. I've never been so deceived by so many people at a car dealership in all my life. I would NEVER buy a car from them again. If you do get a warranty it will take forever to get your car back. Me being out of state, it was quite the round trip....and the salesman Dylan made sure it was the biggest waste of my time. The salesman that I worked with, Dylan Grose, made sure my time, energy, and fuel meant nothing as well. From the start, he was respectful and kind, but that's about where it ends in terms of positives. After my test drive I took it in for a inspection which told me how horrible of condition the car is in. With that said, all of the other cars on the lot are in the same if not worse condition. Every car on the lot has at least one major cosmetic issue....and that's just what we can see. After my inspection, Dylan kept insisting how immaculate the condition of the car was, but the inspection proved that 100% false. From an oil leak to dangerously worn tires, there were many things wrong. With that said, Dylan and I discussed what I thought about the car as well as issues, and etc. The service advisor where I got the car inspected recommended in the mid 20's for pricing, and the car was listed for 31k. Dylan made zero attempts to reason with me and just kicked me to the curb after spending the entire day waiting to discuss the car. I was hoping to walk away with the car, was ready to pay, and I had a blank check waiting and not a even single attempt made, they probably judged a book by its cover and since they knew I was 18 thought I was a waste of time, what a missed opportunity!!! Am I right? Keep in mind the condition of this car was very subpar, and there was about 2,000 dollars worth of repairs needed. Very disappointing experience, I will never come to this dealership again, and neither should you. First of all, the Porshe I drove was filthy. I even called to set up a test drive and told them. It was filthy. She said she'd have it detailed. When I got there, the car was vacuumed. The rest of the car was still filthy. The windshield previously had a parking sticker under the rearview mirror with tons of residue left over. Another sticker had been removed that left so much glue, at first the salesperson and I both thought the windshield was cracked. I drove the car anyway. They started the car and brought it around front. I didn't see how they started it. While testing it, I turned it off and it wouldn't restart. I called them and told them the readout said "key battery needs replacing". The manager came to restart the car, but instead of a battery for the key, he brought a portable jump box and jumped the battery. Why? He again said it was the key battery....makes me wonder if it was something else. Believe it or not, I still was interested. I took it back and told them I was interested, but needed them to clean the car, so I could really see it. In the meantime I was going to look at another car. The next day, I got a text. NOT A CALL. A text telling me they would detail it for me to drive, but someone from out of state was putting a deposit on it. They said they'd give me first dibs. Really? At this point, I'm angry, feeling betrayed and a bit sad. I told them to sell it to the mysterious guy from out of state. The car was listed online for 54 days. Got a great deal here on a Tesla. Transaction was smooth and quick. Car delivered on time across state lines. But they lose A LOT of points on the back end process. I was given temporary tags but not a temporary registration. Luckily I didn't get pulled over by a cop before getting my final registration. They made me go to the Virginia DMV to get my car registered and to have plates issued. The Virginia DMV told me this could have been done at the dealership. Instead, I spent 5 hours on a Saturday doing this. Long story short, I got a great deal on the car but their back office process is bad. read more

This place misrepresented a 2008 hummer h2. I flew from dallas to Indy, took a cab 45 minutes and was presented a vehicle with bad condition, dents, "new" 10yr old tires, etc. The hummer was 100% paid for when I arrived. Instead of getting a cab back to the airport and a plane ticket, we looked at a couple other hummers. 1 of them was in worse condition and the other appeared to be pretty decent. (The one I took home) Once back in Texas the vehicle was taken for new front end parts, shocks, leveling kit, new tires etc. I got a call from the install shop that the vehicle was rusted-out beyond any standard of safety. I immediately notified Carmel Motors, Michael Spurgin (manager) and was told he would speak to the owner and we would go from there. Michael asked for pictures and I sent videos with the frame breaking apart by touch of a finger. He also told me this was the second vehicle that was rusted-out and sent to Texas. Michael hasn't returned texts, telephone calls and is either outside smoking or in a meeting when I call. I have asked that they buy the vehicle back during the original call to report the rust problem. Not satisfied. For a dealership with Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Range Rover, etc to treat customers this way is unacceptable to me. read more

horrible service this people very unprofessional and disrespectful was on my way for buy a car and let me wait over 40 min because according they was cleaning the vehicle finally after 40 min bring the car at front and have to wait for another time because the car was empty of gasoline while 2 hours before I was calling and say I be there in the next 2 hours why don't clean and check the car for fluids on the lapse time?
