I really enjoy Carmela Coffee. They have a variety of food options, from a bunch of different avocado toasts to panini to salads, as well as little bakery items. The Rustic Grilled Cheese is a standout! Cheddar, mozzarella, and swiss cheeses on - you guessed it - rustic bread. I also often get the tequeños as a smaller snack with my coffee. It's always a pleasant experience when we come to this location. It's a nice healthy stop before or after an appointment at Cleveland Clinic. There is subtle music in the background. You have the option to sit on the patio. You can plug in and work at the many tables that they have here. The staff is always available to assist. They are polite and patient. Maybe I just ordered wrong? I had a vanilla latte with coconut milk that tasted more like a watered down coffee. I've had better from dunkin. A little later I got hungry and decided to try out the chicken panini. This sandwich had a large bread to filling ratio, bread seemed stale, and not even the sauce could help out the dryness of it all. Carmela Coffee located in Parkland! I wanted to find a place to get some work done that was in between me and West Palm to meet up with a friend. Sometimes a change of scenery helps! This location has indoor dining available and wifi. I went on a Tuesday and think everyone had the same idea as me because it was pretty packed! There is a lot of chairs and tables for people to work on but note, some of them are very close together. I got a nutella latte and a burrata, prosciutto, and avocado on toast. I've seen some reviews saying how sweet this latte was but they were nice enough to make it less sweet after asking! The Avo toast was good but the bread was very tough and hard to cut into. This is HUGE so it could definitely count as a meal, at least for me. This spot is very nice and it's in a great location. The service was ok at best. The food seems to be hit or miss and overpriced. I ordered the salmon avocado toast. The bread it comes on was pretty stale. The avocado doesn't have much flavor. The poached egg also had no flavor. At least the salmon was fresh. It cost about 13 bucks. I feel I could have had something slightly tastier from a similar breakfast chain for cheaper. The tequenos were REALLY good but were extremely over priced. The order was about five bucks and came with three tequenos. They came with a sweet and spicy sauce that don't typically come with tequenos but they still paired nicely. I also tried their crispy bacon with brie grilled cheese. This was interesting. The brie was very tasty and the bacon had a nice sweetness. A bit too much bacon. This would be perfect if it included grilled chicken and half the amount of bacon. It was about 11 bucks. It's worth a try. The coffee wasn't great I asked for a cappuccino and even though I ate there they brought it out in a to-go cup. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all of the positive reviews? Maybe I ordered the wrong things? I just feel if I'm going to pay a bit more than their competitors, the product should reflect the value and I did not feel that way at all. read more

At the counter I ordered from a very nice young lady who gave me a sports-themed table Tent with the name of a sports legend on it so I did not have to give my real name ... kind of fun. I ordered the Breakfast Toast this time that came with bacon, eggs, and Cheddar. I could not taste the cheddar cheese, though. It had tons of crumbled bacon- real bacon- and the crusty piece of toast is thick cut. I must say the toast doesn't seem toasted to me. To me it seems like a thick piece of bread. Last time I had the Feta-Avocado Toast which I did not care for. I liked that there are a few outdoor tables available on the Sidewalk. I look forward to trying much more of the extensive menu. Love the feel of this coffee shop, regardless of which one of their stores you go to! I have been to both the pompano (Great customer service!) and the parkland location. Both store are very consistent with their food and drinks. I love getting their arugula Parmesan toast and their iced lattes or iced caramel macchiato. The only downfall I would say is they are not consistent with honoring their retail coupons. Carmela (all of their stores) are on the coffee shop deals but this store does not honor it. Walked in and loved the atmosphere; very beautiful and tastefully decorated little cafe, I would love to spend more time here reading a book and sipping a coffee on a lazy sunday. I ordered the arugula parmesan avocado toast and added grape tomatoes. Everything was fresh and the bread they use is amazing. Generous amount of avocado, arugula, and shredded parmesan cheese. I took one star off because it was lacking any real flavor, not even any salt was added; and also because it was pretty pricey ($12) for the toast. See my photos. South Florida is known for many things, cafe culture is not one of those things. Finding the right cafe/coffee shop feels like finding the home you've always been looking for. It quickly becomes your spot, your refuge. I can't remember the last time I was this excited to visit a cafe. Carmela coffee company has been on my radar for a few months now, and I finally get my chance. I walk in and instantly, within seconds, I know it's the one. The couches, the accent chairs, wood beams, indoor and outdoor seating, rustic decor, and the exposed brick. I repeat, exposed brick. Something about a cafe just doesn't feel right without it. Sometimes it's not even about the food, this space in itself could exist on coffee and baked goods alone, but Carmela's takes no easy way out. It's a full on menu, and the quality is nothing less than superb. Toasts, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, baked goods including empanadas, and of course your teas and coffees. I wish I could try them all! With that being said, I must admit there was a blip during my visit that has to be mentioned if I am offering an honest review. After 20 minutes of waiting for our food and watching a few other orders surpass ours, we decided to inquire about our order. The waitress came back from the kitchen and told us it looks like the order never made to the kitchen from the system. No big deal, as hungry as we were, technology happens. What was disappointing was the reaction there after. There was no sense of urgency to correct the issue. Our waitress and the cashier then proceeded to investigate for another 5 minutes(not the time for that), and then it was another 10 minutes before our food came out. Easily 40 minutes passed from the time the order was placed. No apology was offered at any point in time. It's simply a teachable moment from a customer service standpoint, but it did put a huuuuger damper on our experience. Seattle, NYC, Boston, DC, all awesome cafe cities. Carmelas brings the same culture to our backyard. I might already be in love with this space. It's bright, cozy, and inviting. There is way too much to love about Carmela's for me not to be excited, In spite of a disappointing customer service misstep. Without it, this is an easy 5 stars. For now, 4 will do! It should be worth noting you are definitely coming out the pocket with these Parkland price points. But also definitely worth it! read more

They state that they have the best coffee in the world and it is direct trade with blends harvested in family farms. So I Came here for a quick bite with my son and a good friend. He is a frequent flyer here so being that I was ravenous I asked for a suggestion for the best brunch items. Being that the menu has 9 different avocado toasts, I felt like this was where it was at , so I landed on the breakfast avocado toast. The breakfast avo toast is avocado toast, cheddar cheese, a poached egg and sprinkled with bacon. Tbh, everything was good except the avocado. It lacked flavor and if it wasn't for cheddar and bacon this would be as bland as can be. I also ordered a latte with almond milk and pumpkin pie flavoring. They have many non dairy options which is always1: a plus for me. The flavoring was delicious and not overwhelming at all! My son got a chocolate milk and chocolate chip cookie, can say this guy complained about either of those lol. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints there either. I plan on coming back and giving another avocado toast a try, maybe they will have added a dash of salt by then. read more

Carmela Coffee Company has been recommended to me do many times from friends who live in Parkland, that I finally decided to check it out since I was in Parkland yesterday. It's nestled cady corner to Publix in a shopping center on the NW corner of University Dr and Hillsboro Rd. When I walked in, I could see why my friend that live out there love it. It has a homey decor. There were Moms with their young children, people doing business, and others just enjoying their coffee and good food. I ordered a cold brewed coffee. It had a bold flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. I drink it black, no sweetener. I figured while I was there, I'd go online and do some business. Unfortunately, they were having trouble with their Wi-Fi. They said Comcast was there last week. Another customer said she was having the same problem. The staff was proactive and called Comcast to have them come back out to fix it properly. I'll be back in 2 weeks. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this review. read more

I had Carmela Coffee bookmarked but luckily found their food/beverage truck at the Parkland Farmer's Market. I made sure to stop by before leaving. I knew after all the walking in the ample market & Florida heat I was going to need a refreshing caffeinated beverage. Their truck looked brand new, modern with black & white colors. The service was friendly & accomadating. I ordered my go to, iced latte. It was made to my specifications and absolutely delicious. It was rich smooth and creamy. They've recently opened a second location in Pompano Beach. I'm looking forward to visiting one of their store fronts and/or finding their truck again. Carmelas is cute inside and all but anyways i had driven such a long way to go and study in there like any other person and damn for mid day tuesday there was absolutely nowhere to sit which is expected since none of these ladies in parkland have jobs. But i got food anyways and 1. the overpriced sandwich i ordered looked nothing like it does on the website 2. i ordered a grilled cheese. looked super good in pic and description but it was literally not a grilled cheese. it was cold soft bread with microwaved cheese inside. not grilled at all. also says it comes with pesto and it didn't. so unenjoyable 3. the coffee tastes bad and looked nothing like picture and i don't even think she added the flavoring i asked for 4. when i got my food i had asked for cold foam in a small cup so i can add it to my coffee to make it actually taste good and she said "okay" and then never ever came back. read more

Eh... The quality started real nice, same as the price. But as you can see in my photo, the difference between 2017 and now (2023). Their avocado toasts used to be real avocado pieces freshly cut. Now, it seems to be some sort of pre-made paste that they slather on the toasts. Not to mention, the bread quality was so much fresher a few years ago. With that and the prices, it's a bit of a bummer and not worth it. If you're going to grow as a company and make avocado toasts your main selling point, make changes for the better, not cut corners. read more

Carmela Coffee Company is in the old space that R1 used to be in on Federal Highway. I'm so glad they replaced them. This place is 1000% better. Better food, better coffee, better people. This place is a lot cozier than R1 ever was. Had the Caprese Avocado Toast which was wonderful and the portion was larger than you'd find anywhere else. I just wish there were more outlets.
