After fasting for a blood test, I was starving! I could not wait to head over and check out the new Keke's Breakfast Cafe in Parkland at the Waterways Shoppes. Keke's is a chain of breakfast and lunch restaurants that opened in 2006 and is based out of Orlando. They have grown to locations all over Florida. I have dined at their Boca and Winter Park locations before. In July 2022, they were purchased by the Denny's Corporation, but Keke's continues to operate separately from Denny's. According to their website, "Keke's Breakfast Cafe is dedicated to providing an outstanding breakfast; a meal where everything is handmade, using the best ingredients available, with fresh fruits and vegetables delivered daily, and using the highest quality bread and dairy products." They pride themselves on service, cleanliness, and quality, and that is what keeps bringing me back. This Keke's location is really bright and colorful. I love the pastel color scheme and Florida-centric theme. The Parkland mural is an especially nice touch. They have a large dining room and a few seats on the patio out back overlooking the waterway. Sierra was my server, and she was so sweet and attentive. I started off with some much needed coffee, which is great here. Bad coffee is a pet peeve of mine. Keke's has the sort of indulgent breakfast menu I love, with stuffed French toast and fruit-topped waffles and pancakes. If you are not into sweet, dessert like breakfasts, they also have a savory lunch menu with sandwiches, salads, and wraps. The entire menu makes my mouth water, especially the decadent stuffed French toast options. I ended up choosing the cinnamon apple French toast and made it a combo with home fries and bacon. Everything was perfection, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I ended up needing a take-home box. While I was dining, Sierra kept the coffee flowing and checked in often. If you are looking for both great food and great service, give Keke's a try. I am so glad to have a location closer to home. read more

We visited for brunch over a holiday weekend, so it was no surprise the restaurant was busy. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, who gave us an estimated 45-minute wait. The space is larger than it initially appears, and the wait ended up going by quickly before we were seated. Our server, Brittany, was excellent--she brought us water right away and took our orders in a timely and attentive manner. I ordered the chicken Italian panini and asked to substitute the kettle chips for a salad, but was informed there would be an additional charge of nearly $3. Other members of our party also looked into substituting sides (kettle chips for onion rings) and were told it would be a $4 upcharge--almost the same cost as simply ordering the onion rings separately. As a result, none of us made substitutions, which was disappointing given that the menu indicates side substitutions are available. Our food arrived promptly and was overall very good. That said, my sandwich was missing the pickle, and the kettle chips were a bit greasier than expected. Overall, this is a solid brunch spot, but be aware of the relatively high upcharges for side substitutions if that's something you're considering. read more

Not up to the Keke's Standard. I was looking forward to a comforting Keke's breakfast after a morning in the heat, and was disappointed. The caramel pecan French toast was missing the caramel. The bread was airy which made for a strange texture when I added the watered down and tasteless syrup. The bread also didn't see like it was soaked in batter, just put in a toaster and plated. The bananas on the French toast were from a what seemed a 6 day old ripe banana. You wouldn't need teeth to eat them. The eggs were overcooked and had absolutely no seasoning. The manager said he doesn't like his chef overusing salt, but a bit of salt (and at least butter) is needed to cook eggs. The bacon was cooked well, but still seemed a bit chewy. The only good things about the meal were the grapes and oranges in the side of fruit. Don't think I'll come back to this location, but I won't rule out Keke's next time. Been waiting for Keke's Breakfast located in Parkland to open for some time now. We finally had the chance to enjoy a nice breakfast this past Monday and I have to say this location is very spacious and love the clean and colorful decor. Everything is new and clean and inviting. Staff was amazing. No wait time for a table. We were seated right away. Our server Victor was really energetic, funny, attentive and provided outstanding service. As always, breakfast at Keke's is the best. This location did not fall short. They really maintained the same level of quality service and food as the other Keke's locations. The New Breakfast Champ in town. With the recent opening of Keke's Breakfast Cafe... definitely a game changer in the area! Always loved the food and everything about Keke's and glad there's one closer to us now in Parkland. It's fresh and welcoming as always. Love the bright and clean environment. Our waiter was amazing, as he was friendly, bubbly, attentive, and joyful which allowed us to have a super positive experience. The food at Keke's always is great. Love the hot and sweet syrup that comes with the chicken and waffles, as had to ask for a second serving! It was that good! The fresh fruit French toast if as fresh as you can get with crispy and perfect fruit on top with a fairly large serving. Bacon is crispy and not greasy. Home fries are amazing! Plenty of parking in front and in back of the cafe with 2 entrances. We met some dear friends here for brunch today. The place was packed. Our server was quick to point out that she was covering over a hundred tables as someone called out and the kitchen was short staffed as well. The time I ordered a pancake 'n egg meal from here I liked the food. More recently, when I craved a fluffy omelet and ordered the omelet here I was a little less enamored. The service did not exactly seem up to my standards either time yet in my mind what I'll call a "pass." Getting seated can be a little troubling- as if it is some kind of Big Ask to request a certain seating area, I noticed- because while there are varying seating options these are not always "set up." Safest seating bet seems to be to sit in the main dining room consisting of a lot of booths. Booths are great for a little privacy. In addition to main dining room and outside patio there is counter seating (see photo). On most recent visit when having the omelet I sat outside. Yes, outdoors on a patio with a view of the canal seemed splendid. The server was very pleasant. After the normal amount of time to cook an omelet I started to notice utensils were not brought out and I really wanted to make sure I had utensils as soon as my, as I envisioned it, steaming hit Omelet came out. I thought of going indoors to request utensils. I did go in and as I was asking one person for same my server came out of the kitchen to talk to me holding my omelet on a plate explaining she was going to bring me everything I needed at the same time. I reached for the omelet but she pulled it back and went back in the kitchen while I went outside. Soon she brought out the omelet which was long, thin, and flat and hanging off the plate too. Utensils were brought along with very lightly toasted toadt- too light- and butter/jellies. I guess she was walking around with my omelet on the plate while the "toast" (hardly) was toasting. I started to eat what was an un-hit omelet- not fluffy- but flat and ... cold. I was singularly unimpressed with the omelet and unimpressed with the toast. I was disappointed in the meal that time. We met friends for lunch here after discovering that the original restaurant where we were to meet was closed. Although they were busy, we didn't have that long a wait for a table. The server, however, was overwhelmed as was the kitchen as a lot of the staff had called in sick or just not shown up. It took quite a while to get our food and when we did, it came out in piecemeal with parts missing or wrong. I had a steak panini without the onions. It had chopped green peppers, "steak", and cheese, on grilled pieces of toast. The sandwich came with potato chips and (strangely) a frozen pickle spear. The sandwich was okay. One of our friends got a smash burger which looked quite good. My husband got a waffle breakfast with a couple eggs and sausage links. The eggs were overcooked and everything else was just "mediocre" (his term). The gal got breakfast and they delivered everything, but the eggs. The eggs came ten minutes later. The best part of the meal was the company. I might give this location another chance but I'm not really sure. read more

Familiar name and food since I've visited the one in Orlando and have always been a fan. Found out about this place while visiting family, and it was recently opened. It was a group of 4 of us and had no big delay in getting seated. Sunday morning around Noon was our time of arrival and was happy to get in relatively quick. Service was great. There were some recommendations made, and we were able to get breakfast going relatively quick. All the dishes came out correctly and food was warm. I enjoyed our visit and had no complaints about the food or service. Great quantities and price is moderate. The Banana Caramel French Toast was delicious ! If you're in the mood for breakfast, brunch, lunch then I would definitely recommend Kekes.. although relatively new to the area, I'm sure it will pickup and get better. read more

If you have a party more than 4 people I don't recommend going. This place is for 4 people or less. They cannot accommodate large groups. Waitress was great no complains with her. The food was ok. I had the cheesesteak omelette it was missing the cheese and barely any meat. The cheesy grits and pancakes were good and home fries were seasoned good but not well done how I asked. I will try this place one more time but I guess I will have to come on a week day when people are working. Hopefully everything is better. My family and I have been to several Keke's locations and the restaurant never disappoints. We went for Mother's Day breakfast and as expected the restaurant was super busy. But they were extremely organized with the electronic waitlist and very clear about the anticipated wait time of an hour plus. We placed our names on the list and went to take care of errands in the area. There were periodic notifications about our status on the waitlist which allowed us good time management for our return. When it was our turn we were greeted and seated promptly. Our orders were taken swiftly by a friendly and knowledgeable waiter! The food arrived hot and fresh with larger than expected portions. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend dining with this company as locations seem to be consistent with service and quality across the brand. read more

I came in, asked for a cold brew coffee with almond milk. The waitress said they didn't have any but instead of suggesting something else or apologizing she completely gaged over me. I was looking at the menu and she took everyone's drink order and ignored me again. So I decided no to eat or drink anything. Everyone else had a drink and ate. I just sat there and didn't want to engage with the waitress as that's not my style. She keeps making comments as why I didn't want anything and I just didn't say anything. She came and asked for a review for her service I said "you don't want me to do a review" she seemed shocked as she apparently didn't notice or as aware of my dislike. I don't know how she didn't notice as all i was drinking was water. As we are paying she asked my partner if he was done he said no and she still took the plate. What a hidden gem in parkland but not so hidden! Seems like they are a chain or franchise restaurant. My husband tried another location and raved about it so we went to the new on in parkland. It gets packed ok any given weekend day. We went on a Saturday around 10:30 am. I'm not sure if you can call ahead we arrived and waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once we were seated, we were quickly greeted. My husband ordered the stuff cinnamon apple stuffed French toast with a side of cheese grits. I ordered hash brown casserole with egg whites and feta. It was healthy and delicious! Overall great atmosphere customer service was a tiny bit slow but they were also very busy. read more

A group of eight of us went to Keke's (Parkland), as it was it a great location, for the three families coming from different directions. We called ahead, but were told they could not guarantee we could sit together. However, they were able to put us all at a banquet towns the rear of the store. It was perfect. Our server was Kimberly. She was wonderful; friendly, efficient, and did a great job. She got all our orders correct without writing anything down. And kept coffee, etc. refilled without being asked. I stopped in at KeKe's Breakfast Cafe this morning in Parkland to see how the restaurant is doing as I haven't been there in a while. As usual, the restaurant was busy with people waiting for a table. I was seated with a very nice server named Sienna. She was very efficient, as well as maintaining a lovely smile while she performed her duties. I ordered coffee to start. After she brought the coffee and creamer, I ordered the waffle combo. The combo included eggs, as well as my choice of bacon, sausages and/or ham. I ordered the ham. I also ordered the cinnamon and sugar apples for the top of my waffle. When the order arrived, I noticed that my eggs were not exactly what I ordered. It just so happened that the manager (Bill) of the restaurant was walking by and he asked how everything was. I told him the server was excellent, but there was a minor problem with my eggs. He asked what the problem might be and I told him that the eggs might have been cooked over, versus basted as I requested. He took a look at the eggs and originally thought they were cooked basted. After we both looked at the eggs, he and I discovered that the eggs were cooked basted, but the yolks had been broken because I wanted my eggs cooked basted well. He removed the plate with the eggs and the ham. When he returned with my plate, the eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered them. He told me he had cooked them himself, because the young man on the egg station would have broken the yolks again. So it was a chance for him to show that young man how to properly baste eggs, as well as satisfy a customer. This was very impressive. The meal was awesome and as I said, the server was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. And as the manager said, he always wants customers to let him know if the product is not satisfactory so that he can make it right. read more

We tried Keke's for the first time this morning (8 am Sunday). The restaurant is extremely large, bright, clean, and pleasantly decorated. Our server, Shaniya, was excellent - friendly and attentive. My husband and I both had coffee and cheesesteak omelets. We shared a side of bacon. The coffee was good and hot and came with a nice selection of creamers - a nice touch. The omelets were excellent - tender beef and very flavorful. The home fries were bland and needed a lot of salt and pepper. The rye toast was fresh and perfect. The bacon was great - smoky and not too salty. Our main complaint is the noise level. The high metal ceiling doesn't help. Screaming children are amplified as the place was very full and it was not a peaceful breakfast. We liked the food and service but most likely will not be back due to the atmosphere. read more

I also had turkey sausage which was good, but my poached eggs were very over cooked which I did not enjoy. Great Sunday brunch experience trying the newly opened Keke's in Parkland. When we walked in, we were surprised by how far back the restaurant goes -- there's tons of seating! We were seated in a booth by the open kitchen, and it was fun watching the hustle and bustle of the team. Even during peak brunch time, everyone seemed calm and composed. Our server was extremely attentive and gave us recommendations since it was our first visit. The menu has plenty of food options, though I was hoping for a few more specialty non-alcoholic drink choices. The orange juice wasn't freshly squeezed, so I went with a brewed sweet tea instead. Our food came out quickly and looked fantastic. The standout for me was the home fries -- little red potato bliss-- and I loved that I got four sausage links. My husband also received four slices of bacon, which you don't see often these days. Generous portions and really tasty! I am a big fan of Keke's and was excited when I saw they were opening in Parkland. I've given this location several opportunities and they continue to disappoint. The service is horrible almost every time. They keep the place colder than a meat locker and this location is just not up to par with the Keke's name. We were really excited to try this place, there was a decent wait, 25-30 min but it's brand new and that's to be expected. Like the other reviewer, we were also sat right next to the kitchen door/server station which was not pleasant. Very loud, everyone moving in and out, constant banging of dishes and people taking to go orders on the ledge of our seats. Plus the servers all hanging out and answering the phone right behind the booth with no separation made the atmosphere pretty unenjoyable. Also, no wifi and very poor cell signal, which I usually wouldnt mind however it was hard to habe a conversation with all the commotion. Honestly, this booth should not be used for seating customers under any circumstances. The resurant is very large and can hold a lot of people, might want to consider just keeping this booth off the seating chart. The server was very nice, and since she was busy another girl got our drinks which I appreciated. The food took a while, again I understand they were busy. My omelette was average. Unlike most omelettes I have had in my life, the bacon was sprinkled on top of the eggs, rather than inside. They seemed to be bacon bits, rather than real bacon. The homefries were pretty underwhelming as well. My wife had Eggs Benedict , which were very over cooked, the eggs didn't break and were hard, but she said the sauce was good. For two people, with tip our bill was $50. (42 plus tip) . This is insane to me for a single ingredient omelette and Eggs Benedict with 2 soft drinks. It seems to be a trend in this area, but that doesn't make it a good practice. I realize it was opening week, so maybe things will get better as time goes on. I met the manager Bill of KeKe's and what a kind and patient man he is. I needed food for our Career Day event for about 50'people which ended up being 70. Bill ensured me that the amazing breakfast wraps were plenty. We also had the homestyle potatoes and great service. He helped me coordinate the meal and it was ready for pick on time very early in the morning. Today my husband took me for a spring break treat and I had the pleasure of meeting him and Angela. She was so kind and welcoming. It was her 2nd day on the job! Bill was greeting other guest with a jolly laugh. When we met we hugged and I expressed how grateful I was for his assistance.
