Quinoas Strawberry Salad* with chicken added
    Tracy C.

I had a nutritious and delicious chicken salad. It was quinoa and small leaf based with shredded chicken, soft avocado, feta cheese, cran raisins, sliced almonds, and freshly cut strawberries. There was a hint of a sauce that paired with it all perfectly. It was a bit pricey but a good portion size. Everything is made to order and you can add on or substitute any ingredient. The person taking our order was very nice and helpful with the money. They have a myriad of coffees and beverages plus inside and outside seating The downside is that they play loud music inside and there is a flock of evil crows outside waiting to pounce on any unattended food There is also only one bathroom stall for the restaurant. And they do not have small takeaway cups for the sauces. Either put the hot sauce and ketchup and whatever on yourstuff before leaving or go next door to Publix and buy something! But parking is free and plentiful in a full lot.

My first impression of this place was that it seemed very cozy.Being very appropriate for the weather we've been having lately. The server greeted me and helped me promptly. I ordered a small iced caramel, macchiato and a spinach empanada to go. The coffee was smooth and bold. The empanada had a creamy cheese and spinach blend. Both were very good .$15.00 felt a little pricey for the items ordered. Although I wouldn't have mind so much if I actually had time to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.

Cute spot. Food is good. Theres definitely not enough tables/seating for the weekend. The coffee was delicious and the breakfast sandwich hit the spot!

Carmela has such a wonderful ambiance, providing the perfect environment to either work or chat with friends. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I had their salmon and cream cheese toast along with a matcha latte. The service was also great, with the staff coming to check on us often.

Best place to stop for Brunch in Parkland. Been coming to Carmelas for years for early breakfast with my running buddies. Perfect place to unwind, relax, enjoy delicious food and coffee with friends specially after a Saturday long run. My usual is the Avocado Salmon Toast with pouched egg and truffle oil with a Macchiato Coffee on the side . Place is small but cozy. They also have a nice little sitting area outside but with this Florida heat you might want to sit inside. I bring my kids here whenever they're in town and they love it. Service could be a bit faster at the front register. Solid 4 stars.

Overall I really liked Carmela. The smoked salmon Avocado toast was a favorite of mine! I also liked the grilled chicken sandwich and the Nutella croissant which was so flaky and delicious. I want necessarily a fan of the chicken salad toast, while I really like the arugula on the toast I didn't like the chicken salad. I felt there was more mayo and Avacado vs chicken. Overall a really nice cafe.

Carmela is our favorite place to go for coffee and a treat! Their pistachio croissants are the absolute best. They're also dog friendly and love to give our baby attention!

I recently visited Carmela's Coffee Company and it was such a delightful experience. The moment you step in, the friendly atmosphere and welcoming vibe make it feel like a cozy home away from home. They serve outstanding Costa Rican specialty coffee, roasted to perfection and paired beautifully with their gourmet toasts, freshly made pastries, sandwiches, and cold-pressed juices The menu offers plenty of choices at very reasonable prices, and everything we tried was excellent ,from the coffee to the food. The staff is exceptionally friendly and efficient; service was prompt, and they seemed genuinely happy to be there! Their bathrooms are always clean and I appreciate that !

    Cute setup

We tried this place for the first time for brunch. It was packed so be prepared to wait a bit for seating. They have limited seating inside and outside. The ambiance is nice though and it's decorated well. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, avocado and egg toast, chicken shakushka, arugula avocado Parmesan toast, chicken and beef empanadas, and some coffee. Everything tasted fresh and good. I really liked their chicken empanadas and avocado and egg toast for breakfast. Next time I would like to try their bowls. They look healthy and delicious. First and foremost the food is delicious. The best Caprese Avocado Toast. Nice variety of coffees too. Reason for 4 or of 5 is that it took a long time to get our food on our last visit. Food came, coffee didn't. Had to go in and pick-up coffee on our own. A lovely outdoor seating area (inside lovely as well). Tends to get a lot of folks sitting and using their laptops so seats are at a premium to find.

I asked Google to take me to a coffeehouse that was on my way to my girlfriend's house, and it took me to Carmela Coffee Company. I had never heard of it and had no idea what a big deal this place is! When I walked in, the line was nearly out the door. The place is super-hip with lots of different kinds of seating. They have lots of pastry and hot breakfast options. I opted for a pistachio croissant with an iced black coffee. Both were excellent, although I would have liked more pistachio cream in the croissant. It's so good! I will definitely return to this coffeehouse when I'm in the Weston area!

This place is so great! We are always so happy here. Food is great, atmosphere is welcoming and friendly! Definitely recommend.

Tequeños, breakfast sandwich, chia pudding, pumpkin spice latte, and breakfast avocado toast -- the perfect spread!

Such an aesthetically pleasing cafe to have a nice breakfast or lunch with your significant other or a small group of friends. Service is timely and staff is friendly.

FIVE STARS. GAS STATION? YES. GAS STATION? ALSO YES…read more Let's get something straight. Some of the best food on earth comes from places that look like you shouldn't trust them. Gas stations. Side streets. Tiny counters with three tables and a refrigerator humming in the corner. I saw WhatSub on Yelp and thought, "Alright. Let's see if the hype survives State Road 7." It didn't just survive. It flexed. I am fully on board with five-star gas station cuisine. In fact, I seek it out. And WhatSub doesn't just play the game -- it competes internationally. This place comes dangerously close to Sandwich Master in Turin, Italy. I'm not exaggerating. And it narrowly beats out Generoso's in Coral Springs, which is not an easy feat. The bread? Legit. The meats? Layered like someone actually respects the architecture of a sandwich. The balance? No soggy mess. No overkill. No amateur hour. And then the cannoli. Freshly piped. Not pre-filled. Not sitting there getting sad and humid. Fresh. Filled to order. Shell still crisp. Ricotta smooth and balanced -- not overly sweet, not grainy, not lazy. Best cannoli I've had in South Florida since Lorenzo's in North Miami Beach. That's not a casual comparison. That's a statement. Now let's talk atmosphere. It's technically in a gas station plaza -- and yet the owners and staff are actually speaking Italian behind the counter. Not performative. Not touristy. Just normal conversation like you accidentally stepped into a deli in Torino. It feels real. So real that I went back the next day. And then again. I am not joking. When I ask myself, "What was my favorite thing?" the answer is dangerous: Everything I ordered. Cold subs. Hot subs. Cannoli. Repeat. This is the kind of place you almost don't want to write about because once the word spreads, lines get longer and secrets disappear. But credit where credit is due. WhatSub is proof that greatness doesn't need chandeliers. Sometimes it just needs good bread, proper technique, and someone who actually cares.

Came here because I saw it was a new Italian sub shop near my area. Saw good reviews and wanted to…read moretry it myself. Behind the counter was a husband/wife duo who were the business owners (didn't get their names) who stated they were from Sicily. After much deliberation, I decided to order the Arthur Ave and the Milano. The Arthur Ave is a cold sandwich that had prosciutto, arugula, stracciatella, sun dried tomato. You have a choice of bread from white, wheat rolls, and focaccia. I was informed by the husband the focaccia is made fresh daily by his wife so of course I had to try that. The wife was nice enough to let me try a sample of the prosciutto and I have to say -- it was delicious, so getting it on a sandwich was going to be a no-brainer. The Milano was for my father. Watching them make the sandwich, they put two huge pieces of chicken cutlet, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and freshly sliced mozzarella. Again, I got the focaccia bread. Both sandwich's were drizzled on the top of the focaccia bread with fresh Italian olive oil which was just the cherry on top. I had told the owners it was my first time and we had a great conversation, that they were nice enough to give me and my parents 3 free mini cannolis -- which was completely unexpected and highly appreciated! As far as the food goes, I don't have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how delicious this sandwich was. From the delicious meats, the fresh veggies, and my personal favorite part -- that focaccia bread. I would buy that alone. They had specials on their menu the day I went that was a not on their menu -- a meatball sub and arancini balls. Also, keep in mind, that this shop is inside the Mobil gas station on 441 and SW 18th. There is a sign on the outside of the gas station, but if you're driving by and unsure of the location, I can confirm it is inside the Mobil. Overall, a great experience; delicious food, great people behind the counter. Only caveat I would say is it is a little bit higher price for a sandwich, but with the current economy where a McDonalds burger is over 10 bucks, you truly get what you pay for and that is top quality, fresh and delicious food. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and back home, subs are called hoagies. In other parts of the country they might be subs or heroes, but not where I'm from. The other regional staple is that we always have birch beer at our hoagie shops. Now, living in South Florida, I rarely find birch beer, but when I do, it's a great day. Well, Laspada has birch beer. On tap. I was in heaven. The other great thing about this place is that the way they make the sandwiches. I'll save the actual construction as a surprise, because you have to see it to believe it, but they put meat on the bread, then load it up with whatever it is you want in the way of vegetation, then more meat on top! This place is awesome! Unless you're a vegan, but then you wouldn't be going to a hoagie shop, so it doesn't matter. But for normal people, it's incredible! Hands down this is my favorite hoagie/sub/hero shop in the area. And they have more than one location so I can get a hoagie pretty much anytime I want one.

If sandwiches had a Hall of Fame, this place would have a first-ballot plaque and its own highlight…read morereel. Walking into LaSpada's Original Hoagies isn't just ordering lunch, it's stepping into a deli version of a live sporting event. There's energy, there's precision, and yes, there's the legendary "airmail" toss of freshly sliced meat flying down the line like it's got somewhere important to be. Blink and you miss it. Smile and you're part of it. I went with my go-to: the Italian. And not just any Italian... this thing shows up dressed to impress. We're talking Boar's Head ham, cappy, pastrami, and provolone, sliced fresh right in front of you, then launched with deli theatrics onto perfectly waiting Italian bread. From there, it gets piled high with crisp veggies and those Italian peppers that quietly steal the show. Every bite hits like it's been rehearsing for years. Somewhere around bite three, I had a moment of clarity: "This isn't a sandwich... it's a commitment." Plot twist... you think you're just grabbing lunch. You're not. You're entering into a multi-meal agreement. A large sub here doesn't just feed you, it sticks with you. Lunch today, lunch tomorrow, maybe a late-night "just one more bite" situation. It's generous in a way that feels personal. My wife ordered the roast beef, and wow. Perfectly rare, ridiculously tender, sliced fresh and yes, sent flying down the line like it had a boarding pass. It was the kind of sandwich that makes you reconsider your own order mid-bite. Quick detour, because it deserves it... the homemade macaroni salad. I don't throw this around lightly, but I'd put it up against anyone's for best in class. Creamy, balanced, and somehow disappears faster than you expect. That's not an accident. And then you remember... this place took home "Best Sub in South Florida" from the Sun-Sentinel in 2025. Not surprising. Honestly, it feels overdue. Micro twist: you walk in thinking you'll try something new next time. You won't. You'll be back for the same order, and you'll be happy about it. After 25+ years in Coral Springs, they're not just consistent, they're automatic. The kind of place where you don't wonder if it'll be good... you just decide how hungry you are. Highest recommendation. Five stars, no hesitation. Final thought: Some places make sandwiches. LaSpada's Original Hoagies makes believers.
