Maggie sells the cicada bridal line, which is very much my style, as well as a few of her own creations and can make just about anything you can dream up. I fell in love with her creations. I just wasn't sure I could bring myself to spend ~$1500 on a dress I will wear once so I needed to sleep on it. Maggie was super awesome about the whole thing, let me try everything on, over and over. Just a note that Maggie's studio is not a box store. No fancy bling, no ladies in waiting. If you want someone who will hold the dress while you step into it and let you stand in it under a fancy chandelier, this is not the place. That said, I have been to the fancy places (Pronovias), and they charge the same prices (or more) for dresses made from scratchy synthetic material. Maggie is a self identified "fabric snob," and everything she sold was top quality, many, if not all, in silk.

I promise I wasn't asking for much. I asked for the straps to be replaced with lace. In 3 sessions this was not completed. They were finally replaced by the fourth time. I repeatedly asked for my dress to be shortened and the alterations team kept saying that they didn't want to as "My shoes would show". I stated that is actually what I wanted. I also had flats for the reception that required the dress to be shorter as well. The alterations team suggested that I just get a different pair of shoes then. For my final session the lace was finally replaced for the straps. My dress However was shortened by a half an inch if not less. I had asked for at least two inches off at the previous session. At his point I did not have time to come in for another session as my wedding was 10 days away. I took it as is and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, with the dress being too long I had many issues throughout my wedding. My dress kept getting stepped on even when bustled up. Several of the buttons on the bustle broke as a result and I had half my train out on the floor. All of the beads at the bottom were stepped on and broken. I had to carry my dress for most of the night. My dress also slipped under my shoes and I took a VERY hard fall. I bruised my elbow and my hip badly. The owner was apologetic but was covering for the team for the most part. Bottom line. Unless your dress is good as is when you buy it here, go ANYWHERE else for your alterations.

I wanted to see their veil collection and I ended up with a beautiful veil that was well priced. I'm forgetting the owners name but she was lovely and gave me all of the advice I was looking for.
