Idk the bartender's name but she was the saving grace with the lemon drops & her service 10/10. The food just wasn't good, I just dont know any other way to say it. The calamari the breading was falling off & under cooked, whatever the broth is on the mussels wasn't good, and the chargrilled oysters need some work. We love it when new restaurants are added to the Square. So when we saw a Caribbean place coming in, a cuisine not yet represented, we were excited. There are some great Caribbean spots in and around ATL, so happy to have one we can walk to. But...we need to be real, even in your first few weeks. Your staff is delightful. Polite, quick, helpful. Great service - worth a second star. But, the food... We started with the Clams appetizer, listed on the menu as being in a 'white wine and herb broth that invites dragging crusty bread through'. The reality was that they brought out 10 tiny clams (5 each for sharing!) swimming in approximately half a teaspoon of broth (containing no visible herbs) and none of the crusty bread that you so cruelly taunted us with in the menu. The clams were flavorful, but the size and missing broth/bread made it unsatisfying. On to the entrees - we got the jerk chicken and the skirt steak. The chicken was a little dry and bland, which is a problem with jerk. It felt like it was cooked well in advance - which I generally wouldn't have a problem with in regards to jerk chicken if it was lovingly stewed in sauces and spices all day rendering an unctuous and flavorful dish - this was not that...it tasted dry and old. The skirt steak was tragic. It was obliterated - cooked to the point of being dry and grey on the inside. And, it did not come out hot...like the chicken, it seemed to be cooked well in advance and warmed for service. The sides (rice and veggies) were well cooked and tasty. Carmen - we'll give you some time to work out the kinks and then give you another shot. But if it ends up similar to this one, we've got better options to spend our money at. read more

This place just opened so we gotta give them some grace but it was weird! We were here during chalktoberfest just hanging out by the food trucks when one of the servers came up and said hey we're doing happy hour drinks, please come by! She couldn't tell me which drinks and nor could the qr code menu or the board they had outside so already kinda a hassle We had food from McCracken's and a stroller so it was an effort to even go inside Nobody was in there, maybe bc they were blocked by food trucks or maybe bc they're new or idk They had a few staff walking around all very new and not very knowledgeable about the menu or restaurant - they're still learning The place is very pretty inside but I felt quite uncomfortable with how unwelcoming it was bc all of the staff sat by the bar chatting and quietly discussing what was even up for happy hour specials or on the menu or what else We almost left when we literally had to pick the stroller up to even get inside the step at the door (not handicapped friendly PSA) but felt awkward with the woman looking at us. Nothing wrong against her; she was trying her best and not set up for success but she was so nice so we ordered a couple drinks - a lemon drop and a whiskey sour They were both ok. Saw this restaurant on TikTok and decided to dine here for my annual Christmas exchange with friends. Upon arrival we were greeted and sat. There was only one employee running the front. She was the host, server and the bartender. We were there over two hours because of the lack of staff. The employee was kind and apologized for the delays. It did take over 45 minutes to receive water and our drinks. They have a QR code for the menu. I went during happy hour and we ordered lemon drops, I opted for a strawberry lemon drop which is a dollar extra for the flavor. Entree I ordered was the salmon, yellow rice and cabbage. The food was good. Due to the lack of staffing I would not return. This restaurant is located in the square. Street parking is available. This place was not or is not ready to be open. They either are hoping you are too drunk to care about the food once it comes or they don't care because they are going to make you pay for it anyway. The server did the best she could so none of this is a reflection on her BUT when you tell people to use the QR code on the table and then the menu isn't the same as what they have...come on...everything I tried to order they didn't have or it was not supposed to be in the menu. This was a big party of people who came from different states for my aunts birthday, so gratuity is already included. There was food that either didn't come out right or they didn't bring because it wasn't supposed to be on the menu. None of the food came out together, example, my son's omelette came out charred, there was no sauce on it (which it states on the menu it would have) and his dish was supposed to have rice and black beans. When I asked about it the server said "that's not supposed to be on the menu, I'll let the owner know". One of our party ordered the coconut French toast and when he got it, took a bite stood the person who brought it out that there was no coconut in it. (We later brought this up to the server and she stated because he tasted it, it couldn't be fixed or taken off). When it came to the bill although EVERYONE told the server what the issues where the management didn't care. (A lot of food was uneaten/touched) She called the owner/manager and he said he was on his way. Once he got here he seemed unconcerned and didn't do anything to rectify the issues either. People work hard for their money and to try to support black owners is a big thing for my family and I BUT when you don't care about your business or the service industry that you decided to get into then why should we?! Go back to the drawing board because this isn't your lane! If I could give no stars I would. Plates, silverware, napkins were dirty...we came because of a "TikTok" reel about this place, I guess we should have done better research , because $400 for limited food items, dirty place settings and unhelpful management is too much to lose. This kitchen and "cocktail" restaurant had like 5 cocktails where 4/5 were rum.... Not a big selection and no originality. We ordered a mango mojito and a Latin spice margarita and they tasted like kool-aid. I think there was more simple syrup then actual tequila and rum. We got the ceviche for appetizer which I will say was delicious. You have the choice between shrimp and fish. We got the fish and the flavors were there! I was trying to give this place a chance even after reading the reviews. Bathroom has no soap, no paper towel and the tables and floors are full of crumbs. It was important for me to reflect before writing this review to ensure I don't write based on pure emotions. We had a large party of 13. The food fell short, lacking the flavors we had anticipated. One person in our group received utensils that were not properly cleaned. They were wrapped in a black cloth napkin, visibly dirty. This sets a concerning tone from the start. Another person's fried chicken was noticeably burnt, a detail we only discovered once she picked it up to put it in her to-go box to take home due to the time it took for us to receive our food. She sent it back and requested a refund. Additionally, the French toast was reported as unpalatable, and the crab cakes resembled heavy hush puppies with little crab meat or flavor. Another did not attempt to even eat the Shrimp and Grits due to all the other issues. When trying to get the waitress (who was also the hostess and the manager), she kept ignoring us. I did not have the chance to cancel my order before it was brought to the table. The presentation looked off. I tilted the bowl, and the Shrimp and Grits did not move or lose form. It was as if it were a solid mass at the bottom of the bowl. The grits looked plastic or as if it was a grit cake instead of a bowl of grits. Mine was also missing the side of Cajun sauce. I requested a refund but was not offered one. I ended up giving it to a friend to take home after they remade it. We did not even take time to take pictures of the food as we were disappointed and ready to leave. Customer service was equally vital in the dining experience, and here, there were several issues. The manager (who was also the waitress )'s communication style felt unfriendly; she often spoke quietly, prompting us to ask her to repeat herself, and when I requested a more respectful tone, her response was dismissive and argumentative. She proceeded to tell me that she's not a little girl. One of our guests went to the back to speak with the owner due to the many complaints. He stated he can't refund the dishes due to it affecting their bottom line. Which I do understand. However, it was disappointing that he did not come to engage with us or address our concerns during our over three-hour stay, especially since it was during lunch hours, and we were the only customers present. I believe there's an opportunity for growth here. By seeking assistance, mentoring, or training for the staff, the owners could turn this restaurant into a hotspot that truly reflects the rich culture and culinary potential it aims to represent. I hope that by sharing my experience, it might encourage the owners and staff to seek improvements that could elevate the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, our visit did not meet expectations. To the owner, Silence is not an option when you are in this industry and seeking to provide excellent customer experiences. read more

Staff didn't refill water, we had to go look for them to ask them for more water. Although we had food that required cutting, they only provided forks and spoons. We were so disappointed on multiple levels. My husband and I visited this restaurant after he saw a Facebook post encouraging people to patronize the restaurant. So in our normal support fashion we chose this restaurant. We arrived on a Friday night to basically an empty restaurant. They had a few people at the bar but NO ONE was seated at the tables. We assumed we would have some great service since we had the restaurant to ourselves, but the waitress was horrible. She seated us and said scan the QR code on the table for a menu then walked away. After taking a few minutes to look at the menu we had to flag the waitress down as she was sitting at the bar having a drink and socializing with the bartender. Once she came over we gave our drink order and asked a few questions about the menu which the waitress had no idea about. Again the customer service is horrible at this place. Now let me say the drinks were expensive but they were good and unfortunately that was the only good part about this restaurant. We ordered calamari and on the menu it said it came with a chutney sauce. When the waitress finally brought the calamari it had no sauce then when I asked the waitress for sauce she said it doesn't come with sauce but she could see if they had cocktail sauce. Okay so your menu says one thing but they serve something different...strike 1. When we tasted the calamari it tasted like it was fried in old fish grease and we felt like we were chewing rubber bands. It was awful! So we gave a pass and moved on to order entrees. I tried to play it "safe" and ordered the curry chicken, my husband ordered the salmon. Oh my God when I tell you that was the absolute worst attempt to curry chicken and whatever salmon my husband had. The chicken was dry and cold. My husband salmon was unseasoned and cold, his vegetables were salty and overcooked. Once I guess someone from the kitchen noticed us waving frantically to get our waitress attention that went back to having her cocktails and on her phone at the bar, we asked for our very expensive checked that had gratuity added for a waitress that paid us absolutely no attention.
