    Cinco De Mayo Decor!
    Joy O.

A quick disclaimer, we did visit on Cinco De Mayo, which is notoriously one of their busiest days of the year and I certainly took that into consideration while we were there. We made a reservation in advance, especially because we knew how busy it would be. There was not anyone available to greet us at the front when we arrived and it took us quite a while to get seated. There was a line of us waiting for a greeter to come by and a lot of confusion about what was going on. It took almost 20 minutes and two different members of the staff to confirm our reservation before we were finally seated. The decor was very cute! They took time to decorate for Cinco De Mayo and were giving out sombreros. They had different events on each day of the weekend to celebrate the weekend. They stated that there would be specials but everything listed on the regular menu was the same as the listed Cinco De Mayo specials. It did take quite a while for our waiter to come to our table and even longer for them to put in our order. By the time our appetizers and food arrived, we were very hungry. Unfortunately, several items were forgotten and we had to remind our waiter repeatedly before they were brought out to our table. I genuinely don't think it was anyone's fault, it was just very very busy! The food was average and a bit overpriced for the quantity that you receive. You order the tacos a la carte and they do not come with any sides. Each one is ranging from $5-7 dollars for a single street taco. It can add up very quickly! Especially if you want to include a side. It is helpful if you're interested in trying several different options. I did get any pictures of my food by the time it came out but the Pollo Tinga taco and the Bang Bang Shrimp were some favorites. I also ordered a Prickly Pear Margarita, which was absolutely delicious! That was the highlight of my meal. Overall, I would like to try Prickly Pear on a night that's a little less busy. Hopefully the food and service will be better next time! Completely forgot to snap pictures of my food because I was so hungry but will make sure to take some next time. Happy Eating!!

A good time was had! I love this little place....... Really good vibes! We tried the prickly pear margarita.....It was amazing and the roasted chicken skillet did not disappoint. The bartender was really nice, he really took care of us. They have a great menu, brunch and bottomless mimosa on Saturdays and Sundays for $20( you can't beat that ) parking is good, in a lot shared with other eateries. Definitely a spot I will visit again.

Convenient location and huge selection of tequila. Had a lunch on Friday and sat on the porch. Very spacious overall and very nice setup. Very welcoming at the entrance and nice decor. Menu was good, lot of choices and reasonable. We took lunch specials - $10 each with a combination of 2 chicken taco & tortilla soup, and 2 enchiladas with rice and bean. It was alright, and not hot as expected. Not as filling as expected. For the price and place, it was decent. Seems like the people were really enjoying the tequilas.

Great food, ambiance, and service!! They accommodated a last minute party of 25 with ease.

Visited Prickly Pear on a Tuesday, due to their Taco Tuesday Special. The Fiancé & I swore the board had a few tacos and a couple of beers on sale. We forgot what the board said, so we asked our waitress who advised there was only 1 taco and no beers on special? Ok? For context we were my Fiancé and I were at a table, a small family (being assisted by another server) and a couple that sat behind us. Inside there was 2 occupied tables and folks @ the bar, being waited on by the bartender. Our waiter took foreverrrrr to return to our table in any instance, whether it was was greeting us & getting our drink orders, returning for us to ask questions about the specials/ menu, checking in once bringing our food, seeing if we needed refills. No matter what it was, he was always missing & we had to tap other servers for assistance. Once our food came out, everything was very, very good! Meats on the tacos were very good & well seasoned! The Elote was delicious & the sweet plantains were sooooo good! The nachos were tasty too & the chips , you can tell, are made fresh! The only thing I'd change/ add is salsa for the tacos. We were told there was no hot sauce either :/... The food was good, however the service could use some much needed work. We asked for waters to go and the server said he had to go next door for water?! How?! Why? Lol You were bringing out carafes of water? Something about the service is off, but the place is beautiful inside, nice size bar too. The outside seating is nice as well, however, a few m landscaping tips that should be considered: 1. the planters with your cactus should be filled/ topped with sand without the ability to catch water at the top of the plant. Sitting water attracts bugs, which can be a nuisance while eating. But also have the capability to rot your plants, which can also bring other small bugs and mosquitoes while dining 2. The flower baskets hanging outside of the fence where tables are located have pollinator flowers, which attract bees while in bloom! This can also be an annoyance battling bees while eating your delicious elote! Lol Last Suggestion, possibly consider small menu cards or a location on your menu that lists your daily specials would be helpful as well!

Came here after work on Friday. This is a new restaurant that opened end of 2022 and is still kind of under the radar. I didn't even know it was there if not for the work people who told me about it. We sat at the bar on the covered patio. The space is nice, and the bartenders will take good care of you. I ordered a spicy margarita, and it was decent. I also tried the paella. Good, but I wish the chicken was cut up and cooked with the rice. Instead, it was just a large piece of grilled chicken on top. Overall: good service, full bar with an extensive margarita selection, plenty of parking, patio.

Had so much fun w my homegirl just drinking tequila and eating tacos. They have so many different options of. I would say my favorite is the buffalo taco. I smashed on all of them really. I think I got asada, carnitas and 2 buffalos. All were pretty good. I left stumbling out tho! The service was cool at the bar, we had two adorable guys and they were super chill. The ambience was intimate and cozy and gave the right vibes for a Saturday Brunchy Brunch. You can tell from the pictures I was slurred. Thanks Prickly P!

They are dog friendly., but expect to set out front, which was just fine. They have a lot of good vegetarian options to choose from. The falafel taco and cauliflower taco were good and satisfying. If you want a solid option for tacos and margaritas, then this is a great spot to try. They have a lot of good options to choose from.

My friends and i came here for a new year's dinner. I have seen this place before coming to smoothie king but noticed the positive reviews and decided to try it out. Our crew was not interested in paying pre fixe prices for a NYE meal, so tacos it was! Food was tasty, drinks amazing! The servers were a little overwhelmed but attentive nonetheless. I will return.

This restaurant is so beautiful from the food, the staff's energy with the customers (and their team working together) and the building decor inside and out match the pictures. I went to Taco Tuesday last night. I'm vegetarian and the food was seasoned to perfection. I was only going to get sweet plantains and a taco but after the raving review from the bartender of the street corn I had to try it as well. And he was right it's so good. As a vegetarian/ vegan I've come across a lot of places that rely heavily on meat to be the food seasoning but nope not here. The food tasted so fresh. The sweet plantains had a delicious caramel crust and came with a dipping sauce (kinda like a cream cheese icing sauce). The sauce was served warm. The asada cauliflower was crispy and not overly cooked. The salsa on top was seasoned and not just diced tomatoes. Now the street corn... first thing, just know it's on the cob only. But if you're worried about the mess, it's not that messy but it's worth it. It's so juicy. A must-try. The ooooonly negative I had was there were a lot of mint leaves in my drink. It tasted delicious but it was hard to get much of my drink without having to try to maneuver my straw around the ice & leaves. BUT the bartender was a doll & was so nice to everyone. This place is a great date night spot or a place to catch up with friends. I'll put this place on my "return to" list for ATL

    Hongos tacos

(2.5/5) Didn't love the hongas tacos. I didn't think they had a lot of flavor. Only a few veg options. Chips and salsa not free here. Service was a little slow. My friends loved their birria tacos and margaritas.

I came here to surprise my cousin for her 33rd birthday, and it was absolutely amazing. Walking in the ambience was nice and dim, but not too dark to the point where you could not see it. Kind of reminded me of a nice chill upscale lounge. The drinks were absolutely amazing. We had the best Bartender in the best waiter anyone could ever ask for, shout out to Felipe. We had eight people in our group, and he cater to us so well you couldn't even tell that our group was so big . The Ahi Tuna taco was straight . I was only expecting to eat one taco, but I ended up getting too because of how good it was. It was cooked to perfection and the Mexican Street Corn was the icing on the cake to everything. I highly recommend anyone that's close to this place to check it out, especially on Tuesday, Taco Tuesday, because that's when we went and it was up!

The Cinco de Mayo menu specials!
    Shawne T.

Arrived to Prickly Pear Tacos Tequila restaurant for Cinco de Mayo this year and really enjoyed the Mexican atmosphere from the art on the wall to the selfie wall. This was a great day to enjoy margaritas and we had a pitcher special they were offering today. That pitcher was more than enough for the five people at our table along with each of us taking a nice shot of Milagro Tequila. . We enjoyed a platter of nachos and a few steak street tacos which were to really amazing. The food was good, drinks were just right and the service was pretty good. I will definitely returning here to try their empanadas.

They have quickly become my favorite place to get Mexican food. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on Buford Highway in a small shopping plaza. The lot is medium sized, but they are sharing it with a few other businesses, and depending on the night it could definitely be hard to find a spot so keep that in mind. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!

It was a little pricey at $14 for 3 small-ish tacos, but each taco was packed with meat. I also got a taco de la abuela with pastor meat. I didn't try a normal taco, so not sure if there's a notable difference in the tortilla, but I thought the pastor taco was solid as well. I felt like perhaps it was lacking a little in flavor? But I do appreciate the amount of meat that's given. The slices of pineapple are nice as well - very authentic. Throughout my dining experience, most customers were picking up/taking orders to go. I got the beef Birria, steak Birria, and barbacoa tacos. The consommé itself was a little watery and tomato-y, but the tacos themselves were of decent quality and flavor. The salsas they gave on the side were good too - spicy, tangy. The seating in the store is very limited (only a few tables, not well spaced out), large groups would be hard to accommodate.

I believe the meats here are halal. The crust of both the taco and quesadilla were crispy and had a nice cheese crunch. But trying other birria spots, these were okay. Good but nothing that would wow. The consome dip was actually pretty watered down. I know places make them differently as I've had versions with meat bits in them and another with rice. But their version was just watered down. The shrimp ratio was pretty sad. The beef is actually more bang for your buck. Though I didn't truly count the shrimps, there were about 3 or 4 of those baby shrimps. They didn't look nor tasted like they were doused in flavor. The shrimp was just so so. Sort of bland in taste imo. The beef had a nice kick of flavor. There was a good amount of beef to my surprise. Another friend's beef taco version looked like it was stuffed with meat as well. There was just ample seasoning and flavor with the beef. Psst. If you're thinking x3 tacos vs x1 whole quesadilla, go with the quesadilla. You're sort of getting another piece since the quesadilla is cut into four quadrants versus just 3 tacos. Though it's a different form on presentation, you're going to be getting more for the same exact price.
