We started with island mimosas very refreshing version of a classic I got the cochon and it was great, I didn't expect the bbq sauce but it worked well with the other flavors. We dined at the social house with friends on a Friday night. We didn't have a reservation and were able to walk right in and get seated. Our server was fantastic (I can't remember his name But he did say he has a twin brother who also works there). I had a nice draft beer and a bowl of gumbo. My love and I had a taste for some southern food and were excited to try this place! Limited seating inside but there's outdoor seating as well. It seems to be a local favorite. Very lively inside. We loved our server Greta and the manager Tim. We decided to attempt and try all of their draft beers (but didn't quite make it #ImALightWeight). We ordered the chicken bites to share. I got the Catfish and Grits for the entree. Lastly we got the French Quarters to finish off. My partner wanted the gumbo but they ran out! Service was sooooo slow. They weren't just at all when we went. They really shouldn't have the bartender waiting tables when she's making non-stop mimosas for various tables. The food was absolutely excellent. We had a variety of things and they were all delicious. I have to say the highlight was the pimento cheese fritters. Came for brunch during the Marietta Chalktoberfest, so it was pretty busy. I ordered a Big Easy Mimosa (described on the menu as a "GENEROUS POUR of champagne and juice") and a club soda. I got the mimosa which was served in a standard champagne flute. How do you get a generous POUR of champagne into a standard champagne flute (you might ask)? You don't. It was just a regular mimosa. Never got my club soda - it was busy enough where I didn't press the issue. Ordered the salmon avocado toast with a poached egg and a side of bacon. Took about 30 minutes before toast arrived. Had to ask about the egg and bacon. 5-10 minutes later, bacon and a (charitably described) soft-boiled egg arrived. I sent the egg back hoping for a properly poached one. After another 10 minutes and as my wife was finishing her breakfast, another soft-boiled egg arrived. I told them to forget it and ate the toast without it. Stop serving brunch if the cooks can't poach an egg. Bartender took 15% of the bill without my asking to apologize for the egg, which was nice of him. read more

I really struggle with the rating. Three stars seems a bit harsh, but four stars is too generous. I think the average they have overall at this time (3.4) is about right. Positives: * food was served hot. That goes a long way in my book. * gumbo rue was very light and I think the bowl was 50% rice, but the sausage was very good. Gave a good spicy flavor to the gumbo! * atmosphere was great and they have plenty of outdoor seating. Opportunities: * the po' boy tasted good but just seemed basic. Bread was more like a soft bun than the traditional bread. It is what you would expect from a place that specializes in something else and not Cajun food. * fries. Menu reads Rosemary-Garlic fries. Had high hopes but just commercial frozen season fries. * service - our server was polite and when she was focused on us, we felt like welcomed guests. She just had too many tables. I think there may have been three serves for all of the inside and outside. Opportunity for management to get their staff some help. A few coworkers and I came here for lunch a couple days ago and we enjoyed it! I will say that it took some time for the food to come out and we also had to wait on the server to bring us the checks for a bit. Bathroom could also be a bit nicer. The burger tasted amazing! I loved it. I tried some of my friend's pasta as well and it was good. So the food is definitely getting a good grade but the service and status of the restroom- not so much. There is room for improvement here but I could definitely see myself coming back in the future. Lastly I will add that they have great gluten-free options. Needs some tweeks. Royal Cup coffee should not be served by anyone who cares about food. It's embarrassing. The cheese grits were great and the star of the meal. The red beans and rice were from a dry mix like Zataran's with a very cheap sausage on top. Not good. Totally hurt my feelings. The Brussels were made in-house and had great flavor but were drowning in balsamic glaze, rendering them sickly sweet. The avocado toast was from premade guacamole from a bag and served on cheap thin-sliced white toasted bread and again drowning in balsamic glaze. Place was dirty with a huge water leak yesterday. Also, we had 2 mimosa towers that had black stuff floating around so we switched to a bottle instead. Food was below average for Cajun food. Gumbo was not good. Egg dishes were like warm, overcooked and my shrimp and eggs had a weird canned tomato taste. The only items that were good was the catfish. Overall, we won't be back. What a great find on the Square. Recommended by a neighboring restaurant's customer when asked "What are your favorite places to eat?" He said Willie Rae's and boy was he right. The prices aren't on the website so I wondered how expensive and then the bartender at that neighboring spot shared that he goes there all the time and they have super reasonable pricing. It did. Hubby had the shrimp and grits. They grits tasted creamy and you can taste the cheese in them. The chicken and waffle was basic. The Po boy was really good. The shrimp was well seasoned, plentiful, and the bread tasted fresh. The Nola oysters were amazing! Full of bacon and the blue cheese was a nice touch of extra flavor. Not a huge fan of the Acapulco oysters. It had too much red sauce. The smoke n mango drink was delicious. I would go back and definitely get the Nola oysters. read more

Wanted to try this place, as it was recommended. Waited several minutes to get seated. Finally, I flagged down a server and asked how long the wait would be for a table. Server said "we have 3 servers and no host. We'll get to you when we can." Needless to say, my family left. Exterior Located downtown Marietta / at the square. Parking can be tough at the square but we arrived super late, so there were no parking issues. Interior TINY. I think the restaurant might have 2 parts. Unsure because we didn't venture past the bar. Food We ordered the chicken quesadilla & fries. I asked and was excited to discover that fries are no longer hand cut. Our friendly server was super apologetic about the hand-cut fries but I assured him that I'd discovered it's too easy to ruin them and I was thrilled to discover that they were just regular, plain ole fries. I even asked - are they battered or seasoned or anything. He said no. So imagine my disappointment when nearly an hour later when the food arrived, I was presented with a plate of battered, seasoned french fries. :-( Sent them back. The chicken quesadilla was ok - but had very little chicken so it was not filling. I tried to order a flight of their sampler sized holiday cocktail. Server apologized & told me the flights weren't available on karaoke night. Um... ok... it's not indicated anywhere on the specialty menu DEDICATED to the holiday cocktails btw. I wound up ordering a full sized cocktail (just went with server's suggestion). It was excellent. I also had a shot of vodka because I wanted to relax QUICKLY. Price / Value We arrived a few minutes after 9pm and the kitchen had already closed so we were limited to a choice of chicken or beef quesadillas, brussel sprouts, French fries, Pickle chips, pimento cheese fritters or beer battered onion rings. I thought the chicken quesadilla was a little pricey when considering the rather sparse amount of chicken. Customer Service When I called earlier to inquire about karaoke for my buddy, the owner answered the phone. (I only found out he was the owner when I called back to ask another question - lol.) He was friendly, upbeat and energetic. I asked if they got a pretty big crowd and if the crowd was pretty diverse. He answered affirmative to both and had me really excited to check them out. He also told me that they also own South Cobb Diner. He said South Cobb Diner has karaoke on Thursdays and WR Social House has it on Fridays. Unfortunately, SCD cancelled their karaoke Thursday because the DJ was sick. The staff was warm & friendly - made us feel welcome. Other When we entered the establishment, we were a bit surprised at how small the place was, but that didn't dampen our enthusiasm. It was crowded and my buddy LOVES to perform so I was excited to see him have a chance to strut his stuff. The 'host' indicated a choice of two different spots & as I made my way to my seat, there was a young white chick with long hair blocking my way. She had her back to me, but the young black girl she was loudly talking to - was facing me. I said excuse me 3 separate times & she didn't seem to hear me. And her friend, who was making eye contact with me, did not seem inclined to tell her friend that someone was trying to get by. I finally had to tap her shoulder & she turned and scowled at me like she couldn't believe someone had the nerve to touch her. Then this idiot flipped her hair on me as I squeezed past her. And we are both 'big girls' so this was no easy feat. The entire night, we were subjected to this loud, obnoxious girl's @ss in my face as she danced the night away. Later, another patron fell off of her chair. No one laughed or made a big deal about it. Her group immediately helped her up and it was back to business as usual. Or so I thought. Well here comes a tall thin chick in a green sweater. She approaches the guy sitting at the table in front of us. She asks him if he recorded her friend falling off the chair and demands he erase the footage. He quietly & respectfully tells her that he wasn't recording. His girlfriend comes back from the restroom looking puzzled that a strange woman is talking to her bf. Green sweater explains to his gf that she wants to see his phone to make sure he's not lying about having filmed her friend falling off the chair. For some reason, dude acquiesces - and shows her the phone. She thanks him and stomps off. I could not believe the entitled, obnoxious behavior of green sweater. It made me wonder exactly how this would have played out if she'd come over to me demanding to see my phone (I'd had my phone out recording my buddy but put my phone away a few seconds earlier.) The night was winding down but this, coupled with the Flashdancer still whipping her hair around & dancing her butt off in front of me - made me tell me buddy it's time to wrap this up. Overall Oh - and I should mention - this is not 'regular karaoke.' This is crowd-sing-along-karaoke. Lmbo. There are multiple televisions with lyrics and if the crowd knows the song, they are scream-singing along with the performer, basicially drowning him / her out. Lol. I'm glad my buddy got a chance to sing but I definitely felt like we were a little too old for this group. read more

This is my second time dining here and my experience was average. I met up with my sister and her boyfriend for brunch but I wasn't hungry so I ordered the pimento cheese fritters and a vodka soda. The fritters came first, even though they ordered way ahead of me. Fritters were nice and cheesy but my favorite part was the honey hot sauce. I just wasn't a fan of the overall dish since it was too greasy for me. This is an ok place that serves decent food imo. I would love to tell you that my husband and I had gotten to sit down for a meal here and make some sweet memories. Would have loved to rave to you about the ambiance and the service, and most importantly the meal and drinks. Before that opportunity could arise, this afternoon, my husband happened to stop at one of the four quite empty tables in front of this restaurant while on a walk with our very new baby. He stopped to pull a bottle out as there was no one sitting at the outdoor dining area and he needed to get the baby's bag off of his back to get the bottle. Before he had a chance to pull out the bottle, a very attentive hostess accosted him to ask him "what he planned on ordering, since he had decided to just sit down." He remained standing, as he had been, next to the table, and let her know he just needed to take a bottle out of the backpack and keep the baby in the shade. She then promptly let him know that the vacant patio tables were not "public changing tables." What couth. I suppose in hindsight, she may have thought that needed clarified since we obviously look like the type of people to change our newborn on a dirty outdoor patio table for the world to see. I'm not sure what gave it away. It could have been the fact that he never took her out of the stroller, or that there were no diapers to be found. Just rookie parent mistakes I guess she's seen people in her life make before. Before he had a chance to take the brake off the stroller and move along so he could walk and feed the baby while she was still in the stroller, this staff member asked him again "what his order was," as if he would patronize such a, well, patronizing place. Based on other reviews I'm seeing, it sounds like there is a strong need to invest time and energy into training all staff on expectations of how to treat people (especially those who may not yet be customers), and create a more healthy culture amongst employees. Perhaps at the least, to strategize how to give host and wait staff something more beneficial to do besides stare out the window during a slow afternoon and shoo off anyone who might stop for a moment in front of their establishment. This is actually the opposite of attracting customers, to which most successful businesses dedicate themselves. As an aside, the one time I went with a friend, the pimento cheese fritters were not even particularly good. Tasty food covers a multitude of sins, but there may not be any redeeming this bad boy if these are the kinds of behaviors they manufacture in their employees. Was walking around Marietta Square looking for someplace to eat. Of all the places that were open, the Social House's menu piqued our interest. It's a cute little space with a combination of high tables and low tables. I ordered some crispy Brussel Sprouts, Pimento Cheese fritters and grilled tilapia tacos. Well first of all, the sprouts were not crispy and the flavor was seriously nothing to write home about. I like the veggie themselves and needed the fiber, so I chomped away at them. The tacos were super basic and not even appetizing to look at. The cheese fritters could have been the star of the evening and honestly was the best item of all we ordered, but it was supposed to come on some special sauce... the sauce tasted like buffalo chicken sauce - not impressive at all. We came for brunch on Saturday about noon. We were a party of 5 and I appreciated they sat me while I waited for my friends. First thing, $15 bottles for mimosas with a choice of orange, pineapple or grapefruit juice is a great deal. Their cocktail list did look good though. I ordered the captain crunch french toast which was good and not overly sweet. We also split the pimento fritters which were delicious.
