I love the Stew Leonard experience!…read more My daughter especially loves pushing all the buttons to animate the random characters and songs throughout the store. She also likes pushing the mini shopping cart around. There is so much to choose from and there is so much space. Every time I have been it was not crowded. I was very skeptical of their lobster roll, but I tried it. It was actually reallly good. There was a good amount of lobster, butter made it even better, and my daughter ate most of it. So, we had to buy another one. Also, the soft serve ice cream! It is cheap and rich and creamy. I always go back when I can.

Stew Leonard's in Yonkers isn't just a grocery store... it's basically a field trip for adults…read more From the moment you walk in, you realize this is not your average "run in, grab milk, get out" kind of place. Nope. This is a "let me just grab one thing" that somehow turns into a full-on adventure. First stop--the candy shop . I'm not even ashamed to say it brought out my inner kid immediately. Bright colors, endless options... you go in for groceries and suddenly you're debating how many snacks is too many snacks (answer: there is no such thing ). Then you hit the hot food area . The soup bar was steaming like it had something to prove, and everything looked fresh and ready to warm your soul. Perfect for those "I don't feel like cooking today" days... which, let's be honest, is most days. Now let's talk about the pizza station --because WOW. Fresh pies, great prices, and slices that actually look like they were made with love. This isn't gas station pizza... this is "lemme grab one slice" that turns into two... maybe three The olive bar deserves its own moment. The selection is wild--in a good way. Neatly organized, tons of variety, and somehow it makes you feel classy while scooping olives into a container like you know what you're doing. Then you slide over to the butcher section ... clean, premium cuts, and everything looks like it belongs in a steakhouse. If you mess up dinner with meat like that, it's not the store's fault--it's yours The fresh cut fruit section is another win--colorful, fresh, and ready to go. Healthy choices were definitely whispering my name... I just chose not to listen for a little while longer And the dairy section? Rows on rows of fresh milk with that farm-style vibe --it almost makes you feel like you should be wearing overalls while shopping. To top it all off, I grabbed a drink and just stood there for a second taking it all in . Clean store, great layout, and an overall vibe that actually makes grocery shopping enjoyable... which is rare. I could write so much more about this store this review will turn into a novel. I will say whoever came up with the strategic idea of having no aisles, like standard grocery stores, is a hero in the super market industry. The set up doesn't allow you to miss anything in the store. If you shop, you have to travel through every section in a winding, one-way, one-road, colorful and exciting journey through the land of Oz. From the entrance to the cash registers there is no way to skip over anything. Must-see-marketing! Bottom line: Stew Leonard's turned a simple grocery run into an experience. You come in for milk and leave with snacks, pizza, olives, and somehow a whole new attitude about grocery shopping Fresh, fun, and dangerously easy to overspend--in the best way possible. 5 stars all day!

As many of you know I am cultured. I'm seasoned. In age and in ethnicity. Lightly seasoned? Sure…read more But seasoning nonetheless? Depends who you ask. Oh Desdemona, how unlucky you were. Oh Yelp, how lucky I am. How lucky I always am. How lucky I was to stumble upon Hawaii Japanese Cuisine on the ever industrious Warburton Ave. Saturday Farmers Market. Meredith's Bakery. Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bread. If you know you know. Anyways. Out in Waikiki I learned to appreciate Poke. I once appreciated Pokemon. What's Politoed up to these days. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly depending on your grasp of history, Poke is actually a Hawaiian dish. Japanese inspired, of course, but that's why the name of this spot is quite unique (although not catchy). Catch of the day. Rack of the day. So how'd I get here? You ask? ASK ME. Fine! I'll answer. Calm down, needy much? I'm an active guy. I participate in activities. Typically solo, I'm riding solo I'm riding solo solooooo. Man, just imagine walking down the city streets with a Walkman in blasting Les Miz. The dream. Anyways. I just got back from the island life and I was craving some fresh fish, at a sizable size with some balance of fruit, veggies, sauce and quantity for a beautiful price. And I just so happened to be running myself into the ground at the track in Irvington. Or was it that low-lying track in Hastings. The bees. The bumblebees. Maybe the hornets. It was Irvington. The bulldogs. Grrrrrr. I just ran myself into the ground. Sprints for about an hour. Bad hammy. Few months later tore the calf while calfmaxxing. Probably related. First muscle injury in a spinning dixie, gotta have muscles to injure them? Not really but that's what I'll tell myself. So I rip the farmers market. Then I rip the soosh spot, ordered online. Walked in, handsomely. Very friendly and respectful and nice staff and have been everytime I've gone since. The weight of the food in hand was ridonk so I was optimistic. I also got a few desserts down the road. Some hardbody that was completely eyeing down my grass-fed grass-finished hog at the track was somehow now across the street drinking a protein smoothie. My aura stinks of grandeur, but I avoid it. I'm taken lady. Did she follow me? Gross. What a joke. Really put things into perspective. I'm a fat slob, a professional self sabotager. But I work hard for this fat and that's what makes me a special boy. Hawaii Japanese Cuisine has the best poke in the area. They never let you down. I never let you down. Benvolio. As your voice of reason, I reason you to give it a go. A humble hero in Hastings.

If you see this food truck around holla at me - It's a must on sight every time, ya heard? So wash your hands and get ready to dirty them right up. In all my downright diverse and delicious days I've somehow not plugged my tush down and chomped down on some of dis cuisine. This truck got a smell that makes your own cheeks melt. Makes your tongue split and saliva drip uncontrollably. I'm getting some kilig feelin' just thinkin bout it rolling up near my way again. Lemme portray my purview for ya. Spend a day in my brain - Ha - You wish. You can pretend by play time always come to an end, don't it? Buncha clowns you are. But anyways... back to the basics Linguini. Where was I? That's right. It's 5:30pm my hands are up and I'm digging my right big toe into the pedal on my four wheel mid-sized car mobile. I don't bother with the breaks - There are none. Just big toe and motor controlling whether I roll or ride. Anyways hands up in the air, steering is for my robot driver Rambo. He doesn't exist yet... but I'm sure he will. J-Biebz is preaching about Yukon as if I ain't know anything about a Whitehorse. Shout out Gavin McK - six six six. Anyways... I'm bustin' up a hill and midway through I convulse a little. My nagging nostrils zoom out 3D-style and catch a whiff of something worth sniffing. I immediately crash my worthless car into the nearest tree trunk. It falls over my hood and covers the rest of the street. Thou shall not pass. Whatever I'm now bookin my way towards is mine and only mine, sunshine. Daddys home - I see the truck. A truck I dear so near. A heart so large I can cut a couple pieces of and feed em'. But if I did, would it regrow? I'm no scientist... but I better speak to CRISPR bout this. Shoutout Casgevy. Sickle cell who? Yeeee. I pull up on two wheels (my feet), like the bipedal I am, and wait in line cordially. I bite my lower lip a few times. Lean against a nearby lamp post. Stretch my glutes. Ooof I'm tight. And then I get a clear way to order. I've probably had it all by now. Some of dat Huli Huli, Lumpia, Sisig. Pork skewers are my fav. Loaded fries slap. The flavas here are simply unmatched. Garlicky, tangy, lively. Juicy, tender and unique. Intricate and elaborate yet straight out of a truck and over a bed of rice. Color me impressed (I look good in neutrals). Never once had a bad meal. And each time, in fact, had a top meal. Probably the best food truck I've had in the area and that's saying something. Literally gotta go every-time I see it. I can assure you that this is a sure 5/5. Top Dawg. Woof woof.

I've never had Filipino food before and decided on the Loaded Steak Fries. It was freshly made as I waited and the server (owner?) was wonderfully friendly. I brought it home to eat and it was truly tasty and delicious- and amazingly was still hot despite the 20 minute journey. My only complaint is that I found it to be extremely salty - and I do not shy away from salt in my food.

I've been using Top Chef to have prepared meals delivered to my client who cannot cook for himself…read more What I like is the wide range of dietary choices and preset suggested meals and combinations. My client is diabetic so ordering and reordering is easy thanks to this. There is a fair range of selections of entrees in the way of protein and vegetable sides. The meal portions are maybe slightly bigger than a lean cuisine so it may not be for everyone as those portions can be a bit meager. I had one of the meals that my client didn't want - pork tenderloin, carrots, and string beans. I heated it in the oven as recommended and the pork was not bad, nor were the beans. They went a bit heavy on the carrots though. This is only one meal of many however and my client overall has a favorable opinion of them, his favorite being the "American glazed meatloaf" Top Chef has come through in a big way for me with delivering about 2 weeks worth of meals for my client that come about three days after ordering it (If it isn't before the weekend). With the rising popularity of heat and eat and fast prep meal kits, like Hello Fresh, Blue Apron and more this is great for elderly, disabled or otherwise, perhaps people who have next to no time to cook. with a nice selection, good packaging, quick delivery and even a senior discount I'm very satisfied with Top Chef Meals.

Right on the waterfront, view of the Palisades park cliffs and Hudson River. Fantastic food. Steak, Lamb Chops, Brisket, Sea Bass, Short Rib, Chicken and more are on the menu... And, it's in West Chester! Food is better than many restaurants I ate at in Manhattan. Because, this is run by a catering master of a couple decades. This is the place to try her exquisite recipes. We keep coming back every couple of months to eat here. Never gets too crowded, but give yourself time. This is not a "rushed place". Wine selection out of this world. Spirits available. This place is about enjoying your leisure time. Some fast-paced folks need to know this: Take the moment to decompress. The seating, wine, menu WILL be offered. It is not that rushed kind of a place and is not towards you as you as a walk-in. Can make a reservation. It is old school. Relax, you will be taken care of 100%. Fabulous owner and chef is there all the time making sure everything tastes wonderful. That detail takes time. It is finally time to get back to having a relaxing, non-rushed dining experience. This is how a dining night out should feel, comfortable, slower pace, excellent wine, excellent food to savor, being asked how the food was, and being able to focus o each other and hear each other speaking.... !
