Great mainstay on Main Street USA. I have only had a few things on the menu. That being the fried pickles, wedge salad, and turkey club sandwich. All of which are outstanding. One of my favorite places to dine in at Disneyland! Ever since they reopened, it has been so difficult to make reservations. We kept checking back and eventually found one! Definitely check the day before you're going because there might be some cancellations. Menu is limited right now. My favorite is the Mickey waffle and smoked sausages. The waffle is always perfectly crisped and has a nice crunch with every bite. My partner got the breakfast skillet, which was pretty good. It is even topped off with Mickey shaped scrambled eggs! You have to be in the park to eat here just as an FYI. Tbh I heard a lot of hype about this place and it was overwhelmingly average. The ambiance is cute, there are vintage glass chandeliers and wooden booths. Very homey feeling. Nice to sit after a long day in the park. The service is fast and the waiters are all polite. They did seem kinda scrambled the whole night which felt kinda off. If you want to eat here, I HIGHLY recommend doing a reservation an hour in advance. Start thinking about dinner around 4-5pm - everything will be booked up come 6-7pm even on slower days. The food itself is a disappointment. I was actually super impressed with a lot of the food we had the rest of the day, but the food here is just not it. If you have kids or people who are generally easy to please, its a good place to stop. But don't expect to be wowed. I had the burger and it was extremely bland and dry. Probably one of the worst I've had. But again, the non picky people in our group had no issues with it. The fries were great. My boyfriend had a fried bologna sandwich and he also said that was bland and forgettable. The third person in our party had the beef short rib over Mac and cheese and raved about it. I tried it - it's short rib (which to me always tastes good although this one was kinda on the bland side?) and the mac and cheese sauce was like alfredo but super plain. Pretty much tasted like pasta in cream. Not my thing but the person eating it was very satisfied lol. The final person in our party had a turkey sandwich for dinner and I'll concede that this was a solid choice. The turkey was hand carved and the olive oil on the bread tasted good. The bread itself was actually delicious and the bacon was great too. If I came back, that would be my pick. My mom and I went to Disneyland on October 20, 2025. We did not have reservations at the Carnation Cafe and waited thirty minutes for a table. We knew what we wanted and ordered immediately. Unfortunately, we were not a priority to the wait staff. People seated after us got their food before us. When we finally did get our meal it was cold. The bacon was so tough they should have bagged it as pork jerky. They were nice about not charging us, but it was too late. I advise everyone to avoid this place. First time visiting Carnation Cafe, and the food was pretty delicious. They were only taking reservations when I came, (which I already made through the Disney App). I loved that because it greatly reduced the crowd hanging around the waiting area. Based on the review recommendations, I ordered each of the following, and shared it. 1 Fried Pickles - super crispy and delicious 1 Cup Walt's Chili - this was okay for me. I wish it came with a piece of corn bread, or crackers to go along with it. 1 Cup Potato Soup - delicious, but super small 1 Patty Melt Sandwich with fries - very delicious. The melted cheese and onions were mouth watering I took off a star because for the price, the chili and the soup should have been a bit larger portions. They were about 8oz each. We were in Disneyland mid January and I finally was able to get in at carnation cafe for dinner with the kids. I had gotten a reservation before hand, they do offer a walk up wait list as well. This restaurant is inside Disneyland on Main Street next to Gibson girl ice cream parlor. If you sit outside it's a great spot to time with some of the parades . Now first of all if you are looking for a fun Disney dining experience, this is not it . This is more if you want a restaurant atmosphere and a step up from grab and go food. I had always wanted to try the fried pickle appetizer $9 and guys it was yum!! So worth it , even the kiddos who wrinkled their noses at the idea of it , had a bit and all wanted to keep eating them. I also got the carnation cafe garden salad $7 , unfortunately the dressing was flavorless and I wish I had asked for something else . My oldest got the baked potato soup $9 and she enjoyed it a lot! My two younger kids had the Mac and cheese cheese from the kids menu $9 , which both gave two thumbs up. read more

Absolutely avoid! My family and sat down to eat and what was served us was amazingly unacceptable! The salmon I had was awesome, but the sides that came with was equal to 2 bites. The beef stroganoff they served my wife was an absolute joke! It was served in a cereal bowl and the amount of meat was less than 1 ounce. It was some cheap noodles with a little bit of brown goop on it. They have an amazing amount of disrespect for their customers! They will not succeed in taking care of any of your hunger! When the waiter saw the expressions on our face from what was he was putting in front of us. He had to sheepishly make the suggestion that if we simply complain we can get more food. Want chili like Walt used to make it? This is the place to come.  Perhaps the food here would remind Walt of his hometown in Marceline, MO or perhaps it's the kind of food that any American kid would remember - cheeseburgers, fried chicken, baked potato soup, fried pickles, or apple pie.  They used to have fountain drinks - the kind you'd find at an old-fashioned malt shop or corner pharmacy - plus a few unique ones to boot like PB&J soda, but since COVID they've shortened their menu.  Named after the Carnation brand of ice cream that used to be served in the park, they've kept the name even if they didn't keep the ice cream. Today, as an homage to the restaurant's past, they put carnations on every table. FOOD: Yummy. One of the best in Disneyland and fun to sit outside on Main Street and watch the crowds pass by. If you want to try classic American fare, then come to the Carnation Cafe and you won't be disappointed.  Walt's Chili really is very good, but pretty much everything here is delicious. Cheeseburgers are more than just your typical theme park burger and quite filling. I love the baked potato soup and fried pickles! But I wish they had kept the meatloaf which was the best! If you're looking for fancy food, this isn't the place. But if you're looking for solid American Main Street fare. This place is great. SERVICE: Always terrific. What else would you expect from Disney? Because it's a sit-down restaurant you get more personalized service than you would from a walk-up counter, and they do a great job of taking care of you. The decor is reminiscent of turn of the last century Main Street with the stained glass hanging lamps.  But be sure to make a reservation! Spots often go quickly. COST: A little pricey, especially for standard American fare. But they do it so well and the ambience is so nice, it's worth the few extra dollars. What a way to enjoy a fun, cozy brunch right in the joyous spirit of Main Street USA at Disneyland! All dishes are traditional American-styled breakfast but with a touch of sensational magic. I personally really loved how fluffy and structured the Mickey eggs were. The potatoes were grilled and seasoned lightly, and the bits were chopped into perfect bite-sized pieces. The sausage was so juicy and bursting with smoked flavor. The Mickey waffle, although cute, was too airy and lacked a semi-thick, chewy texture as most waffles would take on. The ears of the waffle actually tasted like burnt bread since it did not contain much batter but mostly air and crust. This was the only restaurant we could get into on our last trip to Disneyland, but I wasn't too mad about it. The service is great and the food is good. It's also a nice respite from the chaos right outside. This definitely isn't the most extravagant or exciting dining venue in Disneyland, but it is a sit down restaurant, which is a nice change of pace for me since I'm usually running around the parks and eating in line. Carnation cafe is located on main street and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. If you're lucky, you might be seated outside during a parade. We were seating inside during a parade, but no big deal because we had already seen it a previous day. The food is always good at Disneyland and carnation cafe has like solid American comfort food. We had the fried pickles and i got the. Hili bowl. My boyfriend liked the short ribs. You're going to spend money on food at Disney anyway, might as well enjoy the experience while you're at it! read more

Fried Pickles. Get 'em! We've been coming to Carnation Cafe for years just because of the fried pickles. They're prepared perfectly so the panko coating stays on the spear. You get 6 spears for $9 and it's worth every cent. The kid's hamburger is really just a slider. The meal came with that and two sides; our kid picked the fruit & fries, all for $10. Good spot to have a meal and take a break. If you can snag a reservation and don't mind planning your day around your reservation it's a great spot to have a meal and rest on your day in the park. Pros: Not having to deal with lines at walk-up restaurants, no hunting down an open table, great servers and good food. Cons: If you're.a go with the flow park visitor, you'll have to make plans ahead to get reservations and plan your day around your reservation. This happened to us since we purchased the Genie+ Lightning Lane and had to wait a while to make our next reservation as all the rides we wanted to reserve next was going to overlap with our lunch reservations. Overall it was.a great experience. They had the normal kids food of cheeseburgers and chicken tender. My husband and I enjoyed the beef and Mac and the the potato soup. read more

BEST QUALITY MEAL It didn't taste like theme park food! Whoever is cooking knows how to make food CHILI was delicious and hearty lots of beans and ground beef tomato. There's a small scoop of corn bread ball that's the best part wish I could order that separately. Size is pretty small it's not shareable. SOURDOUGH MELT was good too. The beef Patty was moist, bread soft and crunchy with parm cheese and grilled onions sweet. Fries perfectly cooked. KIDS MEAL MAC N CHEESE was a big portion! Carnation breakfast is such a treat and great day to start a day at Disneyland. I always make a reservation to have breakfast here and it is never a let down. It's not only a tasty breakfast and a great way to fuel up for a busy day at the park but its also a fun place to people watch as well and see the happy faces once this plate of happiness is served. The A/C vent over this table was freezing, while the outside tables have the propane heaters on. The Chicken Fried Chicken was good, mashed potatoes were hot, broccoli not so warm. I think this restaurant had by far the best service of any we have been to in Disneyland. The waitress was so kind to my kids it made my day. Carnation Cafe used to be my favorite restaurant at Disneyland, but my recent visit was disappointing. I ordered a hot tea and a veggie burger, but the waiter said a hot coffee. I assumed they didn't have a hot tea so I accepted a hot coffee. I told the waiter I don't need any creams or sugar, but he still brought them to the table. He didn't seem to care about his customer since my reservation was late at night. I didn't want to have unnecessary things on the small table. My veggies burger was very salty, and it made me feel dizzy. The menu hasn't been changed much for over years, but I used to like the restaurant because of the view. Disney hotels offer much better quality of meals and services. I will skip the restaurant at the park next time. read more

Probably one of the worst dining experiences on our last visit to Disneyland. So yea, 2-stars "could've been better". To be clear, this was not my first time at the Carnation Cafe and my last visit was a way better experience. Stopped by on a Friday for lunch, my reservation was at 1:10pm, I was promptly seated. The waitress promptly made her way to our table and took our drink and food order. The drinks came out but it took about 30 minutes to get food. During those 30 minutes other than the bussers filling up water cups, we werent offered refills, werent updated on wait times. We just sat there. She finally came by around 25 mins after we ordered and when I asked why it was taking so long she responded "The kitchen is back up" and she left to check but never came back with an update. I think the reason it bugs me so much is the food at these restaurants is like an assembly line, Its always coming out, it all looks the same and it has never taken this long. All in all, the food was mediocre, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich was not spicy, I would have been happier with a Popeyes sandwich. After this experience I dont think Carnation Cafe will be a stop on my future park visits. read more

Eeek! I so wanted to like it here and to be honest, the food was just alright. It's your typical simple sandwiches, fries and salads. Nothing to really rave about. We've been going to Disneyland for years and this was our first time here. All the restaurants we wanted to try were booked and this place had open tables and went for it. Man I was so excited to eat here and what a massive disappointment it was. It was the last day we could go not renewing passes First service was so bad. They were not busy and our waitress walked past us and took everyone's order around us. We waited almost 20 minutes before she came and took our order. We ordered 2 apps and our meals. Our drinks came out fast which was nice and the apps came some what quick. But the fried pickles were lukewarm at best. The salad was ok. I got the Patty melt and the sandwhich was cold but the burger meat was hot I am not sure how they got that to happen. The fries were super oily. My mom's burger was the same. They seated us fairly quickly as walk-ins during dinner rush, which was extremely lucky. We tried to make reservations weeks beforehand and weren't able to. We were told reservations have to be made many months in advance. Both inside and outside seating had great ambiance and it was warm outside in winter with the heaters. Service was fantastic! The waiter was very responsive, professional, and accommodated food allergies with care. Food was much better than average, but pricey, which is to be expected. The only real negative is there is no bathroom dedicated to the restaurant. The restaurant uses a small bathroom that is open to all of the Disney park goers, so there's a long line to get in. By the time you wash your hands and come back to the table, your food is cold. A bit inconvenient. Otherwise a great experience. read more

For our first Disneyland visit together my boyfriend and I wanted to have breakfast at the park. We wanted something other than Starbucks. Which we do love however we wanted to dine at a restaurant at the park. Many of your friends recommended this cafe due to their food portions. Its location is on Main Street and we were lucky enough to only wait 5 minutes to be seated. The staff was very attentive and our waitress did a great job at constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. There is both indoor and outdoor seating; once check in the host informs you of the wait time for both. My boyfriend ordered the Breakfast Skillet and he was absolutely in love with his meal. He stated the bacon was cooked to perfection. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes which were delicious. The sugar Mickey head on top was a nice touch. They were pretty big which makes them perfect to share. To drink we had orange juice however they also offer coffee and hot coco. read more
