A great place to rest after a long day of walking! The fried pickles were so good. The portions were huge! We definitely should have shared. The restaurant was very retro feeling. The service was good too!
It had been a while since I'd eaten at Carnation Cafe, so I was pleasantly surprised to find an updated menu waiting for me. I decided to try the spicy chicken sandwich, and it was excellent. It had just enough heat to make things interesting without turning lunch into a personal endurance challenge, with a really nice flavor overall and just a slightly vinegary bite. And of course, a visit wouldn't feel complete without the fried pickles, which were as delicious and dangerously easy to keep eating as ever. Carnation Cafe remains such a charming little spot to slow down in the middle of a busy Disneyland day, and this visit reminded me that I shouldn't wait so long before coming back.
Been wanting to try this place for years! We made a reservation for Saturday morning, but there were actually still a good amount of seat open. It's still a popular place, but I wouldn't say it's too hard to get reservations or seating. We ordered several mickey waffles, a breakfast skillet, and the chili cheese omelet. The menu was very sticky so it felt kinda gross to touch it lol. First impressions on breakfast, portions are very small. I mainly had the mickey waffle and that was very disappointing lol, I would say even below average than making a waffle at home. Sausages were also pretty whatever. I tried a bit of the skillet and that was also pretty standard. Didn't get to try the chili cheese omelet, but that one actually looked more worth it. Overall, I think people mainly come here for the cute mickey waffle picture, but you are not missing out on much for getting this. I wished they at least add some fruit to it bc it was bland af (even with syrup/butter). Would skip this place next time lol. It's a cute restaurant though.
Still a good option for reserved seated dining at Disneyland. With its location on Main Street, the outdoor seating is great. The food is solid and comfort American classics that will appeal to all. They also serve alcohol here which is one of the few restaurants in Disneyland that do - wine, beer, champagne, and cocktails ( an old fashioned and rum punch) but you can only drink it at the restaurant. Anyway, back to the food. The fried pickles looked really good but having already ate two regular pickles while walking around the park, I passed. However, I did see a lot of tables with them so seems like a good choice. Walt's Chili was hearty and pretty filling. The turkey bacon club was loaded with turkey and good bacon. Sandwich tasted fresh and I enjoyed both the avocado mayo and lemon aioli - great dipping sauces for those fries. The Parmesan toasted patty melt is also a solid pick. Drank some champagne and watched the day parade from our table. Life is good at the mouse house!
When planning my day at DLR, I only made sit-down dinner reservations as I usually grab something quick for breakfast when hitting the parks. However, this was my first time here so we made the impromptu decision to attempt a sit-down restaurant. Carnation Cafe was staring us in the face, and we were fortunate that the wait for a table was only about 10 minutes. That being said, we decided to grab breakfast here. CC has a long history at DL. The eatery is technically an opening-day business along with the park back in 1955. It started as an ice cream parlor, but over the years has evolved into the restaurant it is today. The location is prime - right on Main Street USA with a plethora of outdoor seating that is prime for parade viewing and people watching. The interior isn't as charming, but luckily we were seated in the former. The overall aesthetics match that of its surroundings, and each table is adorned with a red carnation which I thought was a nice touch. The menu contains mostly classic American dishes, with touches of Southwest influence. A lovely day, my first time in DL, on Main St USA - the setting was too perfect NOT to have a Mickey Waffle so I went with that. The waffle was good - it came with the standard butter and syrup, as well as my choice of protein side (I got bacon). My only issue was with the syrup - it had weird consistency, very stringy? I doubt it was real maple syrup, so that's likely the reason why it was off. Besides that, it was a delightful breakfast. Service was great - the Cast Members were friendly, and I appreciated them being able to squeeze us in. Overall, I had a good experience at Carnation Cafe; while food was good, I wouldn't say it's the primary reason to come here. The food, in combination with the history and prime location make this a destination-worthy restaurant in Disneyland Park.
I really wanted to like the Mickey waffle, but it was hard, dry and bland. It came with 2 bacon strips that were cooked nicely but also bland. I get the novelty of it, but for $18, it was a disappointing meal. My partner got the breakfast sandwich which was also underwhelming but more worth it as a standalone meal than the waffle. I agree with another Yelper that there should be berries and whip included. Service was fine but I had asked for sausage with the waffle and got bacon instead
We had an awesome experience at Carnation Cafe. The food was mid, at best, but the service and the ambiance earned those stars back. Kudos to Scott & Maggie!
It's easy to pick apart Dland food. Some is horrible and some good and some really pretty tasty. The carnation cafe can be hit or miss but today it was darn tasty. We had reservations and were sat outside in about five minutes. The menu is very limited but does offer just enough most people could find something they like. We both had the turkey club sandwich. They were tasty and all the parts of the sandwich were fresh and filled with flavor. The fries were good, too. We had the fried pickles to start and the we're also really good. Overall not complaint and in fact one of the service teams really made the day. Dave was ao polite and well spoken it as like a breath of fresh air. He's a keeper.
Main Street at Disneyland is beloved for its nostalgic charm, emporiums, quaint shops and detailed architecture. It is the gateway to the magic world of Disney! During our visit we made reservations at Carnation Cafe. They serve up some of the best American comfort food at Disneyland Resort- beef short rib, fried pickles, wedge salads, and my personal favorite, baked potato soup! Service is exceptional. And the staff were friendly and amicable. The atmosphere is charming and nostalgic, with outdoor seating on Main Street. Prices are relatively high compared to other dining options. But overall, we had an amazing dining experience!
I finally got the chance to have food here. Despite that it was a rainy day and we couldn't sit outside, we ate inside the section where they sell ice cream. We were seated and given menus but they have a select amount of dishes. I knew immediately that I wanted to try Walt's Chili. It was really good, with breadcrumbs on top, cheese, sour cream and chives. I got the toasted Parmesan patty melt, with beef patty, Monterrey jack cheese, grilled onions, house sauce on sourdough bread. It was by far the best patty melt I've ever had in my whole life. Every bite was incredible. It will be quite difficult to match that. The turkey club sandwich was my partner's choice with bacon, tomato, cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise and lemon aioli on sourdough. She's not crazy about bacon but it was damn good to munch on. She enjoyed her sandwich and of course the fries were really really good. The service was great, they looked after us at any moment that we needed them. In your first visit to Disneyland I would highly recommend you make reservations to come here.
Carnation Cafe is always a go-to for us and has become a family tradition. I've been coming here since I was a baby, and now I get to bring my preteen, which makes it even more special. Her absolute "must-have" every visit is the fried chicken dish. The chicken is always perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes with gravy are amazing. The green beans are consistently good, and we always enjoy the side of breadsticks as well. This time we also tried the Oreo cake for dessert and it was delicious! The ambiance is always wonderful, and the service has consistently been great. It's one of those classic Disneyland spots that keeps us coming back every visit.
Carnation Café at Disneyland had really good food. I ordered the salad with the green goddess dressing and the potato soup, and both were fresh and flavorful. The dressing especially stood out--it had that classic creamy herb flavor that worked perfectly with the salad. The only downside was the view from our table. We could clearly see staff cleaning equipment and supplies in plain sight, which felt a little un-Disney. One of the things Disneyland usually does so well is keeping the "behind the scenes" stuff hidden to preserve the magic. Overall the food was great, but the atmosphere lost a bit of the Disney immersion because of that.
Ate here a few months ago. Made a reservation in advance for 4 people. It was super crowded inside checking in with the hostess and we were seated a little bit later than our reservation. Service was great otherwise. We were seated outside in their cramped outside area. The food was just okay. I did really like the Walt's chili with the nice touch of fried cornbread batter on top. My husband enjoyed his patty melt but said the seasoned fries were the best part of it. I ordered the beef stroganoff which they no longer have on their menu. If they ever do bring it back, don't get it. It was flavorless and salty all at once and the noodles were overcooked.

This place is a classic. When you eat here you feel the most like how I imagine Walt Disney would have wanted you to feel when eating at Main Street when Disneyland was open. I decided to book a reservation here for my family after hearing the good reviews from people on the Disneyland subreddit as well as my friend saying that they have delicious food. I can safely say that both of these recommendations were accurate. Sitting inside the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing. It feels like an old-timey restaurant that you would imagine from the 40s or 50s. It is quaint and the menu reflects this. You aren't going to get anything modern with big servings, nor are you going to get fine dining with tiny servings. You are getting a serving that I could only describe as "plate of food". In my mind this makes sense but I'm sorry if you are now confused. We started the meal with fried pickles. Usually, when I see fried pickles on a menu I am intrigued. I also know that the Carnation Cafe has house-made pickles. They also do the fried pickles as spears instead of chips, which are hit or miss in my mind. These fried pickles were incredible. I am not joking when I say that these are the best fried pickles I have ever had. The coating was perfectly done and the pickle had a wonderful bite to it. My daughter and I ordered the same thing, the chicken-fried chicken. I included a picture of the adult portion of the chicken-fried chicken. The kids portion (at least when ordered with vegetables and fruit, this was all on my daughter as we let her choose her own sides) came with a portion of fruit, broccoli, and a chicken serving that was slightly smaller than mine. My daughter's serving also did not come with gravy but I am not sure if this is because she ordered veggies and fruit or what. My portion was well-sized and came with the chicken rested a top the mashed potatoes and the whole thing with a heap of gravy on top. Broccolini was nestled next to it. THIS CHICKEN IS VERY GOOD. The meat was tender and the breading was crispy and had a good taste to it without being crunchy or burnt tasting. You could taste the breading and the meat and not the oil. The mashed potatoes and gravy were zesty and fluffy and had a hint of bacon flavor to it. The broccolini was crisp and did its own thing. I ate the whole plate without hesitation and would recommend anyone give this order a try. My wife ordered the roasted turkey club which was a nice sized sandwich. I tasted the sandwich and can say that it was a perfect turkey club. Well seasoned and sauced and the bacon was crispy. I didn't try the fries but they went fast so they were probably good. My daughter and wife were eating them quick with the side of house sauce we had leftover from the fried pickles. Overall, this is a great standard and classic meal to have at Disneyland. You could just eat churros and popcorn while there but I feel like this meal filled me up without making me feel laggy or having my stomach feel oiled up. I'm giving it a four and a half stars really but knocking it down to four for the Yelp review because though it was delicious it went absolutely blow your mind. Carnation Cafe is our go-to breakfast spot at Disneyland. The prices are surprisingly low considering the location and the pancakes are delicious. I have tried the other items on the breakfast menu, but I always come back to the pancakes. You may be tempted by the Mickey Shaped Waffle, but the pancakes are better. I wish there weren't so many tables, they are really jam packed in there. There are really only two good tables, the one outside in the mini gazebo and the one in the corner inside. The rest are like dining with 30-40 of your closest new friends. As for dinner, it is usually a disappointment. There are better places to eat around the park, like Plaza Inn for Fried Chicken. If you are there for dinner I would recommend the potato soup...and the fried pickles....maybe not together. read more

I ate here twice during my last trip. I didn't have reservations, so I used the wait list both times and was lucky enough to not have to wait very long. The ambiance inside is super cozy and the food is high quality. You can tell they use way better ingredients here than they do at Disney World places that serve breakfast. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and the bacon was really good, too! (Disney World bacon STINKS.) I will definitely be back here on my next trip. read more

Very disappointed! Especially since reservations finally opened up and we were excited to try it out. Definitely will not return. Service: terrible and I shouldn't have even have a tip. Didn't even refill drinks. When I told out server that there were only four small pieces of chicken in the salad he said, "At least there's chicken." Are you kidding me! Food: definitely not worth the large prices. Our server told us the chicken fried chicken adult entree came with 2 pieces of chicken and when it arrived it only had 1 and we old our server he said if that's right. read more
Carnation Cafe is a good option for a sit down full service restaurant to eat in Disneyland. The cafe is located on Main Street and reservations are highly recommended, as it with any Disney restaurants. On a nice day, sitting on the patio would be ideal, but it was a bit cooler when we went and opted for inside seating. We checked in with our reservations, and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Service was friendly, as most disney employees are, and they were quick to take our order. We ordered the Parmsean Toasted Patty Melt $19 and loved the toasted parmesan sourdough bread. Really elevated the sandwhich. We also got the Roasted turkey club sandwich $16, standard sandwich. The Patty melt was our favorite. read more

Carnation Cafe is an American restaurant in Disney Land park, Anaheim, CA. Carnation Cafe has a small selection of American classics - burgers, short ribs, sandwiches, daily special fish and classics like Wedge Salad and Chicken Sandwich. They have very nice fried dill pickles appetizer and a very nice and unusual baked potato soup. These were my favorite dishes here. It's a busy spot in Disney, that certainly requires a reservation. Service not bad for a spot that busy. Service was quick and straight to the point. The ambience was great. We had lunch during the middle of the parade, so we were able to see most of it. Food: Baked potato soup 3/5 The soup was thick and creamy seasoned well .It had thick chunks of bacon. The soup is warm, it would be better is it was hot. Pickles: 5/5 If you are a pickle lover these are a must. Pickles are cutting into spears, crisp snd juicy. Breading was golden brown and crunchy. Comes with a Remoulade for dipping Dessert: Brownie - la Mode 2/5 Ice cream was nice and thick. Super creamy whipped cream was light and fluffy. Brownie was basic tasted like raw flour Peach cobbler- 3/5 Peaches were plump with the nice crunch. The sauce isn't too sweet Ice cream very tasty. read more

Truthfully just came for the Mickey waffles and to see what they hype was. It's not bad but it's not great either. Just your average breakfast in Mickey shaped waffles or pancakes that have a dusting of Mickey shaped powdered sugar. Service was very slow today, however they did forewarn me about that when I checked in for my breakfast reservation and it wasn't a big deal except the AC was on full blast inside the restaurant and my goddaughter and I, had as well as the surrounding guests all had to put our sweaters/jackets on. Highly recommend making reservations if you're interested in the breakfast menu. read more

Decent spot for food. Burger was good. Burger meat was moist, cheese on the bread was baked in and was a bit much. Steak was really soft but good. Nothing too special for the wait. Staff was amicable but seating was very tight. My seat was off kilter due to it being placed on an shade umbrella base and I had no where to move the table or chairs. read more
One of our favorite places to eat when we go to Disneyland is Carnation Cafe on Main Street. We had not been there since the beginning of the Pandemic before everything shut down so it was long overdue! I tried to go on the Disneyland App to see if I could make a Reservation but there were no available time slots for the evening so we decided to try a walk in. We lucked out because the nice hostess at the front told us they had immediate seating so we sat down only to be texted right after. This time we sat inside at a booth towards the back of the restaurant and they had the QR Code to scan for the Menus on the table. I decided to start with a cup of Baked Potato soup and then we ordered the Fried Pickles to share. For my entree I got the Carnation Cafe Cheeseburger with comes with fries and I also got a Coke. The food here is just as amazing as the Staff and Service and this keeps us coming back. Special shout out to our Server Lupe who made the experience even more magical read more
Located at Disneyland on Main Street. Reservations are highly recommended but they do take walk ups. We were lucky to snag a table last week. They told us it would be 1 hour wait and at exactly 1 hour we got a text to return. Ordered the Fried Pickles, Walt's Chili, Chicken-fried Chicken and the Herb-roasted Pork Sandwich (seasonal). Everything was delicious! Will return to try the Parmesan Toasted Patty Melt and the Braised Short Rib! read more
We made a lunch reservation here thinking it would be impossible to get table service in a themepark without reservations. It's not necessary since I saw walk ins get seated for lunch with very little wait. We ordered Walt's chili, the patty melt, salmon, and a kid's chicken strip meal. Overall it was good. My Patty melt was good and fresh. I'm not a big fan of sourdough, but it didn't make a big difference here since they toasted cheese to the bread. My wife's salmon was good. The chili was very good and hearty. It could be a small meal on its own. The chicken strip for the kid's meal was a little dry. Overall, we had a good lunch experience here and will comeback. read more

I love the Cobb salad !!!! I love the chucks of cheese really filled me up !!! I also love the appetizer !!! I love the fast service the iced tea !!!!!! This is my second visit to this restaurant, and the serving size for each dish were quite generous, so I would recommend sharing/splitting each dish with your friends and family. This restaurant occasionally accepts walk-ins, but they may advise you to make a reservation through the Disney app. We started with the "Walt's Chili, which was decent but not a dish I would return specifically for. However, the "Fried Pickles" was highly recommended and did not disappoint! We tried the "Parmesan Toasted Patty Melt" and "The Carnation Cafe Cheeseburger" for the gourmet burgers. The patty melt was good but a bit oily or buttery. The cheeseburger was huge, prompting us to split it among my family group. For sandwiches, the "Roasted Turkey Club" was delicious but a tad dry. Overall, I would consider ordering less and sharing!! The service was excellent! I suggest using the app to book a reservation, as there are instances where the restaurant may not accommodate walk-ins. Verify availability on the app before heading to the restaurant! read more
Situated In The Heart Of Main Street U.S.A. At The Disneyland Park, Carnation Cafe Has Your Hardy American Favorites. We Had Reservations At 1:20PM. They Are Basically Booked-Up A Good 2 Months In Advance. My Party Was Stuck At The Gates Trying To Enter The Park. The Restaurant Will Not Seat Your Party Until Everyone Is Present. They Were Nice To Hold My Reservations Until The Other Two Ladies Arrived. We Were Sat And A QR Code Was At The Table To Guide Us To The Menu Of The Restaurant. I Find The Layout Of The Disneyland App Better. You Can Scroll Down Easily Through It. The QR Code Takes You On An Adventure Suited For Indiana Jones And All The Sections Of The Menu Are Folded In And You Have To Tap The Section To Expand The Choices. Water, Coke, Coffee We're Ordered For Drinks. For Appetizers We Ordered Walt's Chili & Fried Pickles. Main Courses Included The Carnation Burger & The Patty Melt. I'm Gonna Have To Say, Carnation Cafe STEPPED-IT-UP! The Food Was Made To Order And You Could Tell It Was Prepared In Batches And Then Served When We Ordered It.... Everything Came Out Piping-HOT!!! fried is good. In the covid era of Disney dining, reservations are paramount. That is, unless you don't want to starve or at least have a meal(s) planned throughout your day. I was thankful to have had the chance to dine at Carnation Cafe during my visit to Disneyland last month. COVID Precautions: 1. Guests required to wear masks unless actively eating or drinking. 2. Staff wearing masks. NOTES: 1. Reservations highly recommended. 2. Indoor and outdoor seating available 3. Outdoor seating area seemed to be a larger capacity; indoor area not as spacious. My friend made lunch reservations on our first full day (Monday) in Disneyland. We checked in slightly early and waited about five minutes to be seated. Menu is solely by QR code, so have those phones handy. The menu is short and sweet. I'm sure it won't take that long to come to a decision. I chose the chicken fried chicken, while my dining companion chose the parmesan toasted patty melt. We shared the fried pickles appetizer. Firstly, do order the fried pickles. You'll thank me later! I've had fried pickles at other restaurants (one being Black Tap in Downtown Disney), where its the pickle slices that are fried. Not so at Carnation Cafe: The entire pickle is deep fried to perfection. Make sure to ask for extra sauce if needed. I'd also recommend the chicken fried chicken. Although the portion is not as large as I expected, the chicken is most and the skin very crisp. Lastly, we had to return our first parmesan melt due to the meat being almost as red as Snow White's poison apple. The staff were apologetic and a second melt was ordered. It was ok honestly. The fries were pretty awesome though. SERVICE: Very magical. The staff were all friendly, polite, and exuded the happy and welcoming attitude Disney is known for. BOTTOM LINE: Fried is good. We lucked out and got a great table for dinner! Our waitress, Lupe, was great! We ordered the baked potato soup and patty melt and my hubby and I split each of them - and it was just right. The soup was delish and the patty melt was one of the BEST we have ever had! It had caramelized onions that were prepared perfectly! Next time I think I'll ask for extra onions. Then we ordered the apple pie for dessert and it was so very good! The pie crust was so decadent! Plus as an added bonus we got a little light show! I look forward to coming back!!! read more
Carnation Cafe is always a good choice for breakfast or lunch at Disneyland. Make sure to make a reservation!! AMBIENCE: very cute original Disney style decor. SERVICE: Usually very friendly and quick with taking order and delivering food. FOOD: Super yummy. We tried the seasonal spicy chicken sandwich. It was very good, but it should have referenced that it more of a buffalo style sauce. I was expecting a more spicy seasoned coating on the chicken instead. Still very good! My wife and daughter split the turkey club sandwich and it was very tasty. The best dish was the fried pickles - Yummerz!! The baked potato soup also very tasty. Recommend all 4/5 CLEANLINESS: Most all Disney restaurants are very clean and safe. Summer months when it's hot, ask for an inside table, the air conditioning is great!! Otherwise their patio seating offers great views for the people watchers ;) read more

Extra star because the food is really good. So here's what happened: It's Disney. The entrance fee is expensive and massive crowds from all over the world come to the original for the experience. At least they should have included time frames for meal services. Waited over an hour for waffles only to find we missed the cut off time and settled for lunch. Again, really good food! I get it. It's Disney and with all the aforementioned, completely understandable. However, as one of the worlds leaders in entertainment, at least include meal service times on your app. Too easy for a juggernaut. Let's get it done for goodness sake!! Geesh. I will definitely update on my next trip with Mickey waffles. read more

DisnEATS: - Breakfast Skillet $16.00 - Mickey Waffle + Applewood-smoked Bacon $15.00 *Magic Key discount is available* Nothing too amazing about the skillet, except for the Mickey shaped eggs which were fluffy but had no taste. The waffle was sweet, crispy and fluffy. A pretty big waffle to share, too! Overall, I think I'd go here for breakfast again! read more

Great spot for a break from the park craziness. Can be hard to get a table here though. Had the patty melt on toasted Parmesan sourdough. Was really good. Served with cheese, 1,000 island sauce and grilled onions. You can choose between fries or fruit ( which appeared to be cantaloupe and honeydew). Opted for the fries. Good and crispy! I also ordered a garden salad ($7 ouch). Was a great salad actually. Super crisp and cold ( much needed on this crazy hot day). It had fennel, tomatoes, radish, cucumbers and came tossed with a green goddess dressing. Very tasty. Service was great! We had a quiet spot in the back on the patio and we almost forgot we were in the park. Worth the stop? Definitely! read more

Carnation Cafe has to be one of my favorite sit down restaurants in Disneyland! It's such a classic restaurant to Disneyland and I wish I had discovered it sooner. No matter what I have ordered, the food has always been fantastic! Between breakfast, lunch, and dinner it is impossible for me to pick a favorite. But keep these notes in mind... Breakfast If you're thinking about dining for breakfast in Disneyland, 100% go with Carnation! Their breakfast menu has a better variety (and tastes way better) than places like Plaza Inn or small bites around the park. Do yourself a favor and order the breakfast skillet. Trust me, it's amazing and is perfect for those who prefer a savory meal. Sweet tooth? Go with the buttermilk pancakes! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu (that also goes for all meals of the day). Lunch/Dinner So this past weekend I decided to try the parmesan toasted patty melt and WOW! So juicy, cheesy, and was everything I could have asked for. You'll definitely want to order this one. My friend ordered the wedge salad and I was also in love. Strangely enough I became a bleu cheese fan after trying this dish. Other great starters are Walt's chili and the fried pickles! How can you come to Disneyland and not have a pickle? While the food is amazing, I love the ambiance here as well. It's perfectly located on Main Street and if you're sitting out on the patio, it's a great way to see what's happening in terms of parades and entertainment that go by. It's especially cute at night, friends and I can sit and talk here for hours and we have definitely done it before. Though this place is a little pricey I think it is well worth it! The portions are huge (you may even want to share them) are filling, and taste great! The service here is always top notch; all my waiters have always been friendly and accommodating. I love Carnation Cafe breakfast so I decided to try the dinner with some friends. I got the short rib with Mac and cheese and a side of fries. The short rib was delicious and tender but the Mac and cheese was awful. It was just noodles and crushed up cheezits. I truly think they forgot to put any of the cheese in it. We had breakfast and dinner here on our most recent trip in May 2024. Breakfast is more of a quick service affair. You order an item off the menu and it shows up real quick. Mickey waffles are adorable but do get cold quickly. I had the ham steak breakfast. I gave my husband the scrambled eggs but I thoroughly enjoyed the ham and potatoes. I have to say, the ham steak was legit the thickest piece of ham I have ever been served in a restaurant. Dinner, however, was the shining star. I got the braised short rib that comes on a bed of mac and cheese with some perfectly seasoned green beans on the side. My oh my was this entire dish delicious. Now, mind you, the short rib is sitting directly on top of the mac and cheese so the juice from the short rib kind of interferes with the mac and cheese, meaning you won't really taste the cheesiness. But the green beans were absolutely magnificent and I ate every single bite of my dinner (except the fat part of the short rib, of course). I would absolutely come back here for dinner any day. Like any sit down establishment at Disneyland, reservations are a must, but if you keep hunting you should be able to snag one for your trip as people drop their reservations all the time. This place is definitely not inexpensive but if you want a decent sit down spot, this is a good place to go, right smack in the middle of Main St. USA! read more

What cooking oil does the Carnation Cafe use? I'm allergic to seed oils so it's vitally important what oil is used on the food.
It is best to ask them there to make sure. When booking a dining reservation there is also a place to enter any allergies online. Wherever we've gone they always confirm at check-in as well as at the table.
Will they take walk up?
They may! It just depends on how many reservations have been made/cancelled. I've found that most days, especially later in the evening, there are openings.
Are you able to ask for your meat cooked a specific way? I like my burgers well done and see theirs don't look that way.
They ask how you want it cooked so I'd imagine you can let them know you want it well done.
How are they with food intolerances? Will they delete or remove a specific topping or condiment? Do they do substitutions? Thank you.
Hello, yes they are very good with food intolerances. If needed they do offer to remove any specific condiments with substitutions.
Did they stop serving dinner?
Nope. They still serve dinner. Ever since COVID they don't serve as full a menu as they did before but they do have a lunch and dinner service. It's the same menu for both. Breakfast is a whole different menu.
I have breakfast reservation at 10:50 AM but it is closed to lunch time also. Am I allowed to order off the lunch menu as well?
Usually Disney is very accommodating. Just let your server know that's what you'd like to do. They may not be able to put in the lunch order until 11 or 11:30 or whatever the lunch time is, but they will do whatever they can to help out.
Can you watch the parade while you dine?
Probably not. Depends where you are seated. But you need to be outside to enjoy the parade. We were with in "kissing" distance from the characters and it was awesome. Sitting inside of a restaurant will not give the same enjoyment.
Is the fried chicken same as the one in the plaza inn?
I honestly don't think so I've had both and both taste completely different
Are reservations recommended ? Or is it easy to get a table (Friday night)?
Reservations are recommended it gets super busy especially on a Friday night
Is their breakfast menu all day?
Breakfast is serve from 8 to 11 am. Highly recommend to make reservations prior to get in to the restaurant. They won't take you unless you have a reservation.
When is brunch over?
Breakfast is from 8am-11:30am and lunch is from 11:30am-3:30pm
Did they bring back the chicken apple sausage for breakfast?
Nope just the regular one. Side order comes with 2 pieces FYI
