We love staying at this hotel when we visit Johnson City! The location is perfect directly across the street from ETSU and near the historic downtown restaurant/shopping district. The staff is top notch! The hotel feels liked you're in one of the oldest historic hotels in TN. The antique furnishings are beautiful and so cozy to relax by one of the fireplaces! The bar and Wellingtons restaurant are connected to the hotel. A four diamond experience! We have a king room and it is so cozy and comfortable. The bathrooms are huge. Love the old black and white tiles! They even have a separate tub to soak and relax. They also have a high end spa on the lower level. I recommend calling ahead for reservations for both the restaurant and spa! This is a hot spot for locals and very busy!

Beautiful hotel. Loved the ambiance and classic vibe of the woodwork, fireplaces and leather seating in common spaces. I'd skip the onsite restaurant though / it was just meh.

First time staying at the Carnegie Hotel and it did not disappoint. It's a gorgeous hotel with so much character. I love the architecture design and details inside like the vintage elevators. When you walk into the lobby, there are Granny Smith apples and the local newspaper available. With the fireplace on, it's so inviting to sit back and relax. Our personal room felt so spacious with its tall ceiling and large window. It had a bathtub and separate shower, desk, mini fridge, flat screen TV, and the sleigh beds were comfortable. Our family never felt cramped. The lower level includes a spa, fitness center, and other amenities. Make sure to plan ahead if you want a spa appointment - they book up in advance. The fitness center has updated equipment like a treadmill with a smart screen so you watch TV, listen to music, and select workouts. The attached restaurant, Wellington's, has the same gorgeous ambience as the hotel. We ordered room service and the staff were so nice. My interactions with the front desk staff were also good. I'm so glad we chose to stay here. I'm looking forward to the next visit!

We had another delightful stay at this beautiful hotel. Truly enjoyed the hospitality and the convenience of the in-house connection to Wellington's Restaurant and Austin Springs Spa.

I have stayed there several times over the past few years when I visit my hometown. The front desk, rooms and cleaning staff have always been exceptional. Carnegie Hotel is most definitely the nicest hotel in JC. I want to give a huge shout out to Jordan at the front desk and the cleaning crew for helping me a week later when I realized I'd left items there. Wellington's was fantastic and our server was wonderful. I wish I remembered their names. We felt fantastic after visiting the spa and getting facials. Melanie and Elizabeth pampered me and my son. Wonderful weekend at every aspect.

Great location right across from ETSU. Very well maintained older hotel with beautiful woodwork. Wellingtons restaurant is located inside, with a bar area if you are only looking for drinks. We stayed on the sixth floor with the high ceilings. Sleigh beds in the room and the bathroom had both a tub, shower, and double sinks. There was a fridge in the room, wifi complimentary throughout the hotel, and free parking. We attended a baby shower in the lower lobby, which was very well done. Brunch was set up outside the salon; with a cake table, gift table, alcohol station, drink station, and four large tables inside. There were about 50 people there and it didn't feel overcrowded. Food was good and the staff was helpful and courteous. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely stay again.

This place was so beautiful. The beds are comfortable. The rooms have plenty of pillows and the pillows are different sizes and thickness so you have a choice. The bathroom had a double sink in it plus a bathtub that is separated from the shower. The staff was friendly and omg, the food at the Wellington restaurant was amazing. You must try the Springer Mountain chicken. I cannot even begin to describe how good the food was. Everything from breakfast to dessert was good and fresh. My only complaint with the stay was our room was near a parking garage where people like to hang out to take pictures and take their hot rod cars on joyrides. It was a little loud until about 8 pm or so but it was tolerable. I will definitely stay here again.

Top notch service all the way around! Their customer service was great - every employee couldn't have been any nicer. Staying here was a wonderful experience, hopefully whenever I visit Johnson City next - I'll stay here again!

This year we decided to check out the Johnson City, Tennessee area. We booked online prior to our arrival via the Hilton app and used a combination of points and money. We are big fans of the Home2 Suites line of Hilton properties. When we arrived we stopped at the front counter to get a physical room key even though we had requested a digital key during the online check in. We were fortunate enough to be greeted by the General Manager, Kyle. We had some conversation about the area and the recent flooding due to Hurricane Helene. We learned the hotel has been here for approximately three years. We were both very impressed with how it has been maintained and enjoyed learning more about the area from Kyle. We are very familiar and pleased with the room configuration at Home2 Suites and really appreciate the kitchenette. This is the first property we've been to where they included a new dish sponge, sealed in the packaging in the kitchenette area, which was appreciated. Our room on the third floor was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The shower pressure was great and we enjoyed a relaxing evening before exploring the area the next day. We learned the next morning just how convenient this location is to breakfast options since we prefer to eat outside of the complimentary hotel breakfast. We also noticed that in addition to their large parking lot, they also have a cul-de-sac type parking area for guests who may be pulling a trailer, ATVs, etc. Overall this was a great stay for us.

I thought I had the whole place to myself (it filled in quickly). Check in was friendly and efficient and I appreciated my Hilton Honors gifts. The room was clean and well decorated with a really nice picture of the mountains. I know hotel decor is usually pretty sterile but I really liked that picture. The bed was comfortable but the couch was not. I wish the arms weren't so high because I couldn't find a great way to sit. Close to the hospital and the ETSU campus. Lots of food around and easy to access. I'd stay here again if I return to Johnson City.

I would expect the extent of these conditions at a Motel 6, EconoLodge, or Super 8 for a third of the price, but Hampton Inn is usually a middle of the road chain and we paid $175/night for this dump. I expected somewhat higher standards. The problems: tv did not work. window blind did not work. furniture surfaces and lamps dusty. coffee maker filthy. no trash bags in trash cans. large crack in bedside desktop. we checked in late, so no one to really fix anything. The next morning we got a cheap breakfast in a bag, instead of the promised breakfast bar. no lobby coffee makers offered, told to use the filthy room coffee maker. we asked the front desk to have maintenance to fix the broken tv and have housekeeping vacuum, dust, empty trash, and supply fresh towels. when we returned that night - NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. no room service and still a broken tv. the night desk person did move us to a different room, but that room also had filthy coffee maker, dusty surfaces, and a broken towel hanger in bathroom. but at least the tv worked. The room experience was bad, but what was worse was the lack of concern on the part of the property manager. He apologized and promised to refund our stay, because their goal "is to have satisfied customers", but once we left the property, his promises never materialized and all communication was ignored. I imagine this attitude is why the housekeeping staff and maintenance are not doing their jobs...no one cares. The property itself is not terrible, and could be vastly improved quickly with some interested employees and competent management. However, the lack of care and cleanliness is no where near the standards I'd expect from Hampton Inns, and this property is a dump and not worth a stay.
