This is a nice little bar, old-school. They have a good selection of beers and drinks; I just wish the beer, both bottled and draft, was colder. We've been spoiled by Twin Peaks. The food is good also. The queso is excellent, although they can be cheap in filling the bowl up. The cheeseburger is very good, with good hand cut fries. Recently the fries were warm but not fresh and hot. I also don't understand why they don't give us a bottle of ketchup with the meal. Instead, they give one little cup, which isn't nearly enough, and good luck getting the servers to bring you more. I had to go to the bar to get them. That's very cheap and annoying. Generally, the service is ok, and the ambience perfect for a neighborhood bar. read more

Both of the times I've been here, I have waited over an hour and a half for my food and the waiters only come when you stare them down and wave your arm for about 30 minutes. I've had to cancel my order twice because it took so long and they didn't care at all or offer an apology or refund. They also lied to my face saying our order was almost ready, but 30 min later I went inside and they hadn't even started it. This place seriously needs to learn how to have good service and common decency. read more

Big beer selection. Lots of space. We stopped by mid afternoon on a quiet Saturday to catch up with some friends. Ended up staying several hours. Swift to bring out all the beer but left my little granddaughter sitting there in tears waiting on chicken nuggets. Really? We ordered at 7:30pm. At 9:15 still no food for her. We had all ordered spicy chicken or entrees she does not like. Even though the mgr checked on our table, there was no effort made to bring her food. Three cheers for Carneys. This has been my local for years. There's always something good on tap, and they rotate frequently. Lots of drink specials. They handle events well. The food is above average for dive bar food, and their burgers are actually very good. Outdoor space is very nice, esp. with the addition of cooling misters. The staff are, and always have been welcoming and great. Diverse nice mix of townies, students, and TAMU folks. No politics, no sketchy vibes, no "You're not cool enough to come here" attitude...super welcoming to all. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who actually wants to eat. My food came out an hour after everyone else at my table was already done. I ordered a dressed beer while I waited, and it showed up foaming all over, ruining the tajín, yet they still charged me six bucks for it. Doesn't matter if the place is packed or dead, they'll still find a way to mess up your order. Total waste of time and money. read more

Went Friday night. Was a great atmosphere! And had great entertainment! It is almost impossible to get a drink at the bar. We waited at least 15 minutes before we finally got somebody to wait on us. We went outside and found a table. Waitress came by and asked if we need anything and we said yes menus and would probably need another drink shortly. She never came back. Another waiter came by and got our empty drinks and asked him if we needed anything. Yes we would like another round. He never came back.. So my daughter and her friend went back to the bar and waiting in line for another 15-20 minutes for another drink. We ordered food at the bar, burgers, and they brought it to our table. They were averaging best. Went to finally leave for the night and took another 15 to 20 minutes to close out our tab. Has great potential to be a outstanding place, but they've got some struggles. Was in college station for an Aggie reunion this week. Stopped in to Carney's pub and grill for a beverage after everybody else was closed the other night. Their drinks are excellent their house bourbon was delicious and cheap cheap cheap. I love the place the music is good it was pretty quiet Wednesday night but I understand it's a good place to dance. Actually, the lady bartender did take a quick turn with me. I don't know if that's open to everybody but just to let you know how friendly folks there are. The next day I discovered I had lost my credit card. I gave them a call and they said yes they had it I went back and sure enough they had my card - no problem. They are good people. Must go by and have a drink with them. And a meal- they have a good grill. read more

The drinks and food are ok for bar food. I did not enjoy the whisky sour I ordered as I could only taste the mixer. Instead of cocktails I recommend keeping to beer here as my friends had a similar experience. I really appreciate the pool tables here as it is a fun pass time, however, they are quite beat up and you have to remember to bring quarters to use the table. This location also has a variety of fun photo op locations. read more

Pretty terrible service. I don't think there's anywhere in town I've had this much trouble spending my money. After waiting for ten minutes without service I ended up just going to the bar. The bartender seemed to forget he was talking to me twice. One of the people at our table never got their part of their order. You'll also be reminded people still smoke. Unfortunately , it makes the bar food taste pretty rough. The burgers are otherwise fine, and the fried pickles good, but you're better off going to Koppe Bridge / the Chicken unless you're specifically after the Karbach/AB InBev dive bar experience. read more

Carney's, or the backup set for Cheers 2 Carneys is a nice pub/bar in Bryan, just north of Texas A&M down College Ave. The food is alright, burgers are pretty good for a bar, friendly staff, and a great selection of booze to choose from. They have different deals everyday(except Fridays) and get Karbach brand beers straight from the brewery. Pool, Shuffleboard, and pleasant conversation await you, should you venture on down to this establishment. Can get busy at night, but what do you expect from a bar in a college town? That being said, it does not attract many undergraduate students, so if you're tired of twerpy 21 year olds who can't drink anything but cheap whiskey and shitty beer, this is probably the best choice for you. 5/5 read more

The male bartender with the ponytail has provided the worst service I've ever had. Was hoping it was a one off thing but he's been extremely rude the last 3 times I've been there. He completely ignores customers at the register and when he finally does decide to address them he is unbelievably hostile. For a bar with this price point and poor state of cleanliness the least that could be expected is decent service. It's a cute bar but not worth being treated that way. read more

Absolutely excellent joint away from the juvenile madness at Northgate. Great beer selection, knowledgeable wait staff and solid bar grub rounds out the menu here. Throw in great specials throughout the week and you have a winner in my book. The burgers are solid with the bbq burger being particularly toothsome. The bouncer/bartender was a young black man in his 20's to early 30's wearing a plaid shirt. As my group walked in he grabbed my shoulders from behind. I now understand he was trying tell me to throw out my milkshake, which is totally understandable. However, because he grabbed me from behind and I didn't hear him coming, it scared me to be grabbed. Soon after I disclosed to a female bartender that I understood this man was just trying to do his job, and enforce appropriate rules, I completely understand that... but when he grabbed me, it did scare me. Because it made me nervous, I thought it was warranted to mention that maybe he could approach women a little differently so nobody else has to be worried. I'm a woman at a bar, so a strange man grabbing me from behind where I can't even see him is really scary, and I thought it should be an easy thing to just mention snd let go. The woman behind the bar appropriately thought she should mention it to him, at which point he got very angry and accused me of lying even though every member of my party saw him grab me. Apparently me informing the female bartender about what happened made him very angry, which just further shows he is clearly having some aggression issues. He defended himself at first saying he didn't touch me, and when I told him "yea you did" he said I was "just trying to cause problems" for him. No, actually I'm trying to prevent men thinking it's acceptable to put their hands on strangers. I apologized profusely to the woman at the bar who I had burdened with this issue, because he was clearly very angry, but she didn't deserve to have to deal with his temper tantrum on such a busy night. I would absolutely not advise this bar if you are a woman or a person who just doesn't like to be touched by strangers. I understand it's a busy night and tempers are running high, but there's no excuse for a man working in a bar to be grabbing a woman from behind, and then getting angry simply because I pointed out that I felt uncomfortable. I feel bad to have caused any fuss, but nobody has a right to put their hands on my body. They refused to give me his name when asked, and essentially helped him cover up the fact that he's acting aggressively toward women patrons of the bar. It's a pleasant laidback atmosphere and they play good music. Still on our go-to list, but it's gone downhill a bit, perhaps related to COVID. Drinks are a bit spendy, which is fine if consistently good but not when you're erratic. Too pricey for lousy drinks!!!! I'm not a beer drinker so when someone invited us to ho have drinks I was pretty excited when I saw a full bar but having a full bar doesn't mean good drinks. They really need to take a basic bartending class. Since when do amaretto sours have lemon??? I had one that wasn't that good but for $7 I was gonna drink it and since I am not one to complain I got another one hoping that it would be better .... NOPE only got worst. Switched to another simple drink with same outcome. After talking to a few friends about the experience they all said the same thing - stick to beer cause the bartender can't mess that up. Service was not all that great either. She looked like we were bothering her to get more drinks. Only polite server was the only non-white server. They have varieties of beer and offer specials on certain days of the week. They have spacious areas both inside and outside. I like the outside seats, but the waiters may not get to you on busy days. They serve snacks and sharable meals too. The price is good and the foods are great too. read more

Had just sat down as a group next to us was leaving. Must have missed something because the manager started yelling at one of them and I then witnessed her throw a POOL STICK and then a BEER GLASS and this dude. The glass shattered and got over us and our table. Could not even believe my eyes as to what I just had seen. Really killed the vibe so we were on our way out. Turns out they were mad at the guy for VAPING! I can't believe that a manager would lose it over someone hitting their vape?? Maybe they should invest in some signs that say "no vaping" or "watch out for flying glass objects" before endangering the safety of their customers again.
