We go here regularly after work for happy hour, usually on Thursday. There are usually just a few people sitting at the bar in the late afternoon, the pool shooters haven't shown up yet. We've stopped by a few times to watch football, because, you know, sports is literally in their name. The service is generally good but when we asked the bartender on a recent Monday if they were showing the ball game, she said, the cowboys played yesterday. Well, duh, but we're in Texas, and you should know that (american) Football is life... Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday = football. Anyway; the game was on, but the sound wasn't. they were playing top 40 hits, which, again, for a sports bar, with sports in their name, seemed a bit weird. Yikes! Might be the worst, most depressing bar I have ever been in. A group of firefighter students went in for dinner and had gas station pizza and SLOW beverage service .... It was so bad we made our way back to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch MNF football and drink!! I think with our party, there was about 10 people in the entire bar... Wow. Some friends & I were in there tonight, only had 2-3 drinks, playing Eagles, Bob Seger, Darius Rucker, Trace Atkins. Charged by the song on their pay per song jukebox. Overrode some of the hiphop & rap by paying more. A great bartender named Jimmy was there initially. A newly arrived bar "manager", supposedly named Jessica came, was buying her apparent boyfriend shots & deep pours, getting him drunk, taking shots herself, proclaimed loudly "sick of this country shit," and killed the paid for music she apparently didn't like, that we paid for over an 1 hour. As in paid over $20. What a nigtmare bar manager. Who gives away free alcohol to her squeeze. read more

My boyfriend attended the establishment on a night where there was little to no customers and still received poor service. He went to pay the bill and got a receipt and the holder of the receipt thrown at him with no communication from the bartender. There was no problem prior too their interaction. read more

We went for the UFC fight. This place is now my favorite bar in college station. It's close to Wingstop so you can just place your order and eat it at the bar. Great combo. Tons of games, pool table, darts and a pretty neat air hockey game. Was a great experience. Drinks are shockingly very cheap too. read more

We love this bar and come here all the time, however the last few times Jessica behind the bar has been horrible to us. She is rude and bossy, and clearly doesn't like her job. Call me jaded but.... This bar used to be special. This bar used to have a certain aesthetic to it. A singular feeling that no other bar had whenever you walked in. And it's difference was unlike anything else in this entire dreaded area... its walls weren't saturated in sports paraphernalia. When you walked in and saw every single wall being adorned with pop culture icons, musical icons, actors, actresses, people, men and women who have shaped so much of our culture, In framed pictures, You almost forgot for a second that you were even in a pool hall. Nice. You could stand at one pool table for an hour and a half, drinking and shooting pool ,and STILL find things that you didnt notice on the wall earlier..... The omage to the people that helped shape the entertainment industry ,the very people who have helped shape our culture, was really satisfying and well done. Never felt dated. I would give this place zero stars if I could. At first, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the waitresses were friendly. I met up with some friends there, where I opened a tab and stayed a couple of hours. When I went to close my tab, they claimed I had a $200+ bar tab. I tried talking to the waitresses but surprisingly they were no longer friendly as before. They told me to call the manager the next day. They also made me sign my tab before they would return my card. I would not have been conscious, much less standing, if I had consumed $200 worth of alcohol in that time frame. The next day I called to speak to the manager and he informed me that I should "talk to my fiends instead of blame the bar". The manager claimed that my friends had put all of their drinks on my tab. I am disputing this with my bank. ***warning: do not open a tab at this bar!***I have never received such horrible customer service from a manager. read more

My friends and I used to be regulars at this place till we met the "manager". One of my friends ID was starting to come up at the corner. He is 22 years old but she refused to serve him because she said that his ID was fake. We asked her to scan the ID and she refused. She was EXTREMELY rude for no reason. We have never had a problem here until she became the new manager. Severely disappointed that she would not even scan his ID. She lost out on the business of a group of 15 people. Probably not the best managerial decision, especially on a slow night. We will not be returning. We decided to spend our money else where. read more

This is a huge sports bar with over 10 pool tables, about 4 darts and other games. They have spacious bar with tables and seats arranged around the balcony and also around the pool tables. The staffs were walking to tables and checking with customers if they need anything. The climate is great. I had a kind of medium glass of Texas tea and it was recorded as Long Island in my bill; I was a little confused but the bartender told me that was what they call it. I was like okay! "What the hk?" But it was cool. We plaid pool and were charged for the table separately and the price was fair and justifies the services. That was anyways, a great experience! read more

Not a terrible place, decent staff and decent priced drinks. However can only give one star due to terrible condition of pool tables and cue sticks. Several tables are not level and in bad shape, make a ball in pocket and falls straight to the floor. Our Cue ball was shaped like a hail stone, had dents and chips all over it. Couldn't even use it, we had to swap it out with an unused table. Very very few cue sticks,, so many were broke. A lot of tables had to share or use the smaller cue sticks. Bad when a " pool hall" doesn't even have enough pool sticks to go around. read more

I love the big screen TVs. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't to love. They are happy to serve the drinks until you reach a $25 drink tab per person (really). Then it's rush to get you to sign the tab and it wasn't the end of the servers shift. Adding tax is a way to inadvertent (sneaky) way add on to the price. Why not just be upfront and charge a flat price for the drinks? read more

Me and my husband on occasion come by and play pool when we have a night to drop the kids off with the baby sitter. Yesterday was a gorgeous day and after having brunch at ozona's we decided to go by four downs and play some pool. We were on our way in when a stumbling drunk customer was being yelled at to get out by whom I am assuming is the manager. Little bald guy who seems to be there the few times we have. I always knew we wasn't the most polite but after yesterday and seeing how he spoke to and treated an intoxicated guest and his employees we will NEVER be back. It's unfortunate but I was in the service industry all through college. I enjoy places with a good vibe and I nice staff. His language and behavior completely changed our idea of this bar and we never even fully made it to the bar to even get a drink yesterday. I usually only use yelp to look for good places to eat when we are out, but after calling this bar to speak to someone and the phone just rang and rang I decided to go my app. I was truly appalled by what I had heard and seen. Too old for the Northgate seen, unless I want get black out drunk, were looking for something different. We liked POETS but not the crowd, guess it's a sign of drinking maturity when just want a divey place with a few bar flies.. well we tried this place..now a few trips in, it is one of our favorite not Northgate bars.. bar service is mediocre-somethings haven't changed- but good dive feel... The place and atmosphere was great, up until the service completely ruined our entire experience. Servers did not own up to mistakes made and management did not hold themselves accountable.
